Apparently the hypocritical writers of the protest letter do not understand the concept of compassion. For them it is black and white - join us or die. Israel did everything it could to prevent the loss of lives in Gaza, it was not our troops that rigged schools to blowup, that set up launch pads next to schools of hospitals in order to force reprisals, that put munitions under people's homes so they would blowup without warning. Hamas may have started out as an elected party, but when they started to forcibly remove the rest of the government and staging a military coupe then they lost legitimacy. Good for Noa, her letter was correct and her actions now both in offering to help raise money and then in canceling her support for a concert with the wrong message was right.

Seeking peace does not mean ignoring reality! If there is something ugly at sight, you should take care of it instead of looking in the other direction!

When we first read about this, the organizers said it was to be an a-political event. I, along with family and friends, were planning to attend and to give a donation of nearly $10,000. There they go again bleating about how the Pals "have freely elected one political movement". So what? Hamas is guilty of crimes against humanity and war crimes. Their stated goal and policy is to attack civilians. Yet the Left is silent about this fact. It makes them liars by omission and negates their efforts. The Palestinians freely elected a political party that espouses the destruction of Israel. If they had been winning, what would their response be? There are enough people around the world who donate to the Palestinians (or in other words, buying weapons for Hamas) If you want to donate, why won't you donate to the people of Sderot who lost their homes?

According to the organizers, you can't accidentally kill children and then send blankets and other humanitarian aid. But the Hamas can train children to blindly hate us, teach them to be suicide terrorists, use civilians as human shields as they target our children and then they make a dramatic show of their tears when the reap the fruit they have sown.

Noa may be naive, but she is a very genuine peace-loving person, perhaps too much so. She is also a terrific and famous singer, whose presence at the concert could attract a lot of people and money. The fundraiser organizers' position shows that they are not nearly as interested in the plight of the wounded and dispossessed Gazans than they are in furthering their anti-Israeli political agenda. I call upon all commenters here, including those who, like myself, disagree with Noa's naive take on politics yet realize that she means well, to go out and buy Noa's music.
