Ceasefire is ceasefire - including IDF. Targeting civilians is not acceptable at war time too. Targeting IDF is unacceptable under ceasefire. Following your logic IDF can target any militant in Gaza including Hamas officials, police men, etc.... and now we are back to targeted associations and new round of violence. Is it what you want to happen?

Kadima also was worried about casualties if IDF went to rafah, Barak the great hero was worried about palestinian casualties in rafah. no, but what i want to happen has no bearing on what will happen. the IDF will kill a load of people and say that they are hamas (probably are, then again, who really knows?), with or without provocation and hamas will keep doing this cr@p. so as long as innocent people caught in the crossfire arent killed, i just dont really care. soldiers die, hamas operatives die, whatever, i dont care. of course in a perfect world, the ceasefire will hold, everyone will be happy and it will rain gumdrops (sorry, im not having a dig at you, im just kinda tired of reading these stories), but i wont hold my breath. hopefully youre right and i am terribly wrong, but we'll see. and following my logic nothing. there is no logic here. even though both sides are desperately trying to make it seem as though there is logic in what they are doing (often times through quoting a bronze age manual for the functionings a semi-tribal society or a medieval diatribe on the forceful spread of "god's" word and the domination of "non-believers"). and "common sense"? if only they all had some. later my friend.

IDF wasn't even allowed to respond with air attacks. Kadima and Barak had ordered IDF no air attacks in case of fire to please EU and Egypt. So during the attack IDF couldn't respond in a forceful way. This Kadima has been a disaster.

So stop trying to use it as a pretext to kill civilians. Hamas has killed 15 Israelis in the past 6 months, 12 of them were soldiers. Compare that with the 700+ civilians (900+, if you count the policemen identified as "terrorists") killed in the brutal Israeli onslaught. It seems like even in morality, Hamas still has the upper hand.

BY knowingly (on purpose) attacking or killing IDF soldier -- the attacker (in this case Hamas) has declared WAR on the State of Israel. IT is not that because he is soldier in the Israeli Army you (i.e. Hamas) have the right to attack or kill him. This knowingly (on purpose) attacking or killing of IDF soldier IS a declaration of war on the State of Israel.
