3. They Are Not Settlements nor Settlers
emanon ,   USA   (01.28.09)
If a new subdivision is opened up in Phoenix, it is not called a settlement, it is part of the city. If a new development opens up on a previously undeveloped piece of land in Utah, it is not a settlement. It may be called a town or even a village, until such time as it gets enough people to establish a government and become a city. Why is expansion in Israel any different? Further, the residents of these communities are not called settlers, they are residents of the community / village / city. Why is Israel different?
4. Best news I heard all day :-)

Full steam ahead!
5. How DARE Jews live in Judea?
Gideon Reader   (01.28.09)
If a bunch of self hating and treasonous wanker kvetches in the woods presents photographic proof of the source of his bellyaching, does anyone other than terrorists, their enablers, bleeding heart for anyone and everyone but Jooos, Arab losers of wars they initiated; interlopers on others national soil and Johnny-come-latelys, care.(who says runon sentenances are not fun?) Only those parties who can reap some some cold comfort from being on the side against the raison d'etre of the whole Zionist enterprise, or those who seek personal enrichment by applications of their lips to the butts of whomsoever "don't want no damned Jooos" in Judea. Time for them to tune in to their FM channel for the important message. Eff Emm!
6. Peace Now not motivating Pals to mak peace NOW
Sam ,   Canada   (01.28.09)
Peace Now wouldn't have to kvetch so much about settlements if the Palestinians actually made peace now.Palestinians take positions that are extreme to Jews such as ALL refugees must return, ALL settlers must leave, ALL East Jerusalem must be theirs. If Peace Now wants peace, it should spend more time moderating the Palestinian position or making it more flexible. Otherwise, they are just an irritating voice.

Good, keep expanding.
8. Big Deal! So what? It means more Jews are being born
Bernie ,   formerly Seattle   (01.28.09)
Peace now people rather have dogs and cats than babies. It is good less children whose minds will be poisoned by their hatred for Israel Judaism and Jews. More settlements means more authentically Jewish babies who will be brought up with an authentic love for Israel Jews and Judaism were born and they need places to live. Zionist Jews do Peace Now a favor by moving to settlements, this way Zionists do not have to live next to Peace Now people and won't contaminate their Neighborhoods in teh Settlements of Ramat Aviv etc.

Destroyed in one day. :) Yesha council can meow and bark, but they will move where master says. Othervise, the Palestinian state will be created - and they will be on the wrong side of the border. :) BAD. :)

15. #3: Israel isn't any different
Peter ,   Jerusalem   (01.28.09)
Quite right. Israel should not be any different to the US. New neighbourhoods in Tel Aviv are not settlements. But these houses aren't being built in Israel. Not even the Israeli government says that they are in Israel. They call the West Bank/Judea & Samaria the disputed territories. Every other country in the world calls them the occupied territories. I think that's the point.
16. NO ONE Is Forcing The Haters Of Jewish Pioneering To Stay
Adina Kutnicki ,   Israel,new olah   (01.28.09)
The main bright spot in this nation is that 'settlements' are expanding. Now, if the self haters and their fellow travelers don't approve, well, the EU will absorb them, just like they take in all the Muslim immigrants. By the way, why don't they expend their time explaining why it is acceptable for Arabs to settle in Israel, but Jews cannot 'settle' in their heartland. Or, do they approve of Judenrein policies??
17. It is Israel's Land
Brod ,   USA   (01.28.09)
Modern Israel is in its Ancient Land of Israel. Israel has all the rights in the world to develop its Land. Where did this anti-Israel group come from? Are they a plant of some AntiSemite/Islamist-Jihadist countries? Israel should be wary of this group and disband it. This group is a threat to Israel's national security.
18. Eventually, the UN will send peacekeepers
Erastus CoupeDeVille ,   Ong's Hat, NJ USA   (01.28.09)
to the west bank and create a palestinian state ala kosovo... all they need is an ethnic-cleansing excuse.
19. great news
julie ,   bet shemesh   (01.28.09)
the more people who live in israel the better....wherever they choose
20. peace? now?
eliezer ,   jerusalem   (01.28.09)
ha, what a joke, they are more like Arabs now, Jews, well maybe later. They should be evicted to Gaza to live with their brethren there. It is an embarrassment that Ynet takes them seriously.
21. but i am glad to hear peacenow reported some good news to us

ISRAEL EXPANDING GOOD NEWS B'H AM YISRAEL CHAI
22. Only major settlements should be kept
Tahl ,   Ashdod, Israel   (01.28.09)
I do support the strengthening of Israel's hold on regions close to Israel-proper, which are vital to Israel's contiguity - like Maale Adumim, Har Homa, Givat Zeev, and Beit Arye. However I find nothing productive in those remote outposts stuck smack between Palestinian villages, which serve, well, just for spite. And then we have all these roads that are paved just for them... What a waste of money, of soldiers guarding them, and of our own international standing - we appear as liars to America. The best solution is to reach a 2-state agreement where we keep these strategic places I mentioned earlier (in exchange for Arab towns within the green line), and finally disconnect ourselves from the Palestinians. However these problematic outposts block any hope for this kind of agreement. What we'll have instead, is a one-state solution, where Israel would be stuck with 4 million Arabs. Therefore our settlers and extreme rightists actually serve Ahmed Tibi's and Muhammad Barakeh's interest.
23. #15 ha ha You live in al Kutss? ha ha

or whatever other gutteral sound them arabs call it. I like your quirky sense of humor, pete.
24. Thank you for the good news, Peace Now!!!
Nethanel ,   Jerusalem   (01.28.09)
Do you also report about Jewish settlements in the USA, France, UK, Germany? Here the good news would be that those settlements would become smaller. Lets transfer Jewish settlers of Brooklyn and London to Judea and Samaria!!!
25. Living in Judea and Samaria
Josef Matamoros ,   Finland   (01.28.09)
This article is a pleasure to read. To my satisfaction Israelis dare to live all around Israel, including Judea and Samaria, and build there, on their own soil.
26. sadly not true
(01.28.09)
if this report were true it would be good news. Unfortunately, Kadima does everything to prevent Jews from building anything (even porches) and natural expansion of villages, while encouraging Arab building, be it illegal building in "small Israel", land theft in the Negev or massive illegal building in "Area C" of Judea and Samaria.
27. Good news from Peace Now
optimist ,   NJ, USA   (01.28.09)
This is really the first time I have seen Peace now (Death Tomorrow) reporting good news. Kayn Yirbu!!!
28. #15 I SUPPORT A FAIR EXCHANGE :THE ARABS FROM KUTDS FOR THE
(01.28.09)
JEWS FROM JUDEA & SAMARIA. WHY SHOULD ONLY JEWS GET TRANSFERED? WHY SHOULDN'T JEWS LIVE IN JUDEA AND SAMARIA? IF ARABS WANT US OUT, THEN WE WANT THEM OUT, OUR LEADERS DON'T SEEM TO THINK CLEARLY ON THIS ISSUE WE SHOULD BE FAIR, AND LIVE WHEREVER WE WANT, AS ARABS HAVE DECIDED THEY LIVE WHEREVER THEY WANT, AND BUY FLATS AND HOUSES IN JEWISH CITIES IN ISRAEL. IF THE COUNTRY IS BECOMING INTERMIXED, LET JEWS BE WHEREVER THEY FEEL LIKE BEING DO NOT BLOCK MY COMMENT AGAIN YNET
29. Way to go, Yesha!!! Keep up the good work!!!
