1. Mazuz is quite the wimp.
Terry ,   Eilat, Israel   (02.06.09)
Gee, what a stand-up guy - meek as a lamb to the slaughter, that's our AG, spineless bureaucrat & professional invertebrate.
2. If Mr. Marzel wishes to exercise his right even...
(02.06.09)
if it leads to endangering himself personally well then let him go right ahead and endanger himself personally. Alternatively declare him a danger to himself and institutionalize him for testing which would take till after the elections to complete!
3. It is more dangerous to have mazuz
jason white ,   afula,israel   (02.06.09)
as attorney general. If they do not like it in um al faham, let them move to gaza. Marzel has the right to be there.
4. Marzel is a problem but not Balad?
Asaf Golan ,   Sugar Land   (02.06.09)
yes Um El Fahm is known to be a quiet peaceful neighborhood that never cheats in elections, never conducts ballot stuffing, is never known for riots, has never took part in a rebellion against the state... why should anyone question these brave people who during the 2006 war stood on their rooftops and cheered Nasrallah, even as Hizbullah's rockets landed on their own town? Besides who is Marzel but a citizen of the state acting within the confines of the law? If his presence is incitement so is the Arab population of the Wadi Ara area. Should be not allow them to enter those towns too?
5. Israeli Arabs say that Israeli Jews can't enter their town!
redbourn ,   Tel Aviv   (02.06.09)
This is what the Left has brought us to! But from next week things will start to change! And I and many others hope to see the border redrawn with Umm el-Fahm on the other side of it. It's residents want all of the benefits but none of the responsibilities of being Israeli - and the Left allowed them to have their cake and to eat it too. Mike
6. #3 & the people of Umm Al Faham have...
(02.06.09)
the right to be in Tel Aviv, Hebron, Jerusalem, Haifa and where ever else they want to go! Their citizenship is equal to that of Mr. Marzel! It goes both ways!
7. looks like he needs a shower
MR Clean ,   Cleveland/ohio   (02.06.09)
and a good trim . that is why he is not allowed in because those people clean their feet 5 times a day ..for the prayers .. hygene issues !!!!!!!!
8. Same Marzel Who Tried to Stop Gay Pride Parade
JS ,   Israel   (02.06.09)
Keep in mind that this is the same Baruch Marzel who sued several times to stop the Gay Pride Parade from marching in Jerusalem, because of the "threat of violence". Ironic that he now seeks the same right to public appearance that he tried to take away from others.
9. Can you imagine the uproar if Israel barred an Arab?
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (02.06.09)
Using the same logic if the Central Elections Committee barred an Arab from being a monitor the calls of racism would be everywhere. AG Mazuz is an extreme left winger that needs to be removed immediately.
10. i say let him go
j   (02.06.09)
that way we wont have to worry about his incitement ever again. dead men dont hate anybody.
11. DEMOCRACY AND THE RULE OF LAW is not just for Israels Jews
Jae ,   Lynn USA   (02.06.09)
to follow, but also for israel's Arab cities Good for this Jewish man; you cant have radical left groups freely meandering about and creating public disorder in Hevron's jewish and Arab communities and in Naalin and Bailin on the green line, but not allow a democratically elected groujp leader to monitor the polls. Good for him; you cant have radical left groups freely meandering about and creating public disorder
12. democracy, democracy
usa   (02.06.09)
Jews talking about democracy but when it comes to a Jew to exersise his democratic right they wimp out like pu...ies.. stop bing p...ies. And have the decensy and the self respect to close down your turkish embasy.
13. 10.2 the beginning of the 3rd intifada
from Um Alfahim   (02.06.09)
14. Umm al-Fahm
Ethan ,   Eilat   (02.06.09)
I've visited Umm al-Fahm and will return to visit as a guest, not to incite. Marzel has nothing to do there other then to Incite.
15.  mazuzz tazzuz!
oded   (02.06.09)
funny how the ag cares more about the arabs rioting then marzel excersies his absolute right in a democracy to supervise on behalf of his party the ballots... that's insane... we don't see mazzuz get too concern when tibi, brakah andco. appear frely in any ballots of thier choosing...
16. Mazuz
frank ,   israel   (02.06.09)
What would that spineless little man mazuz have done if they said no arabs in tel aviv? The whole world, including our courts and mazuz would have had a hizzy fit. But since it is a jew, well that's just another story...mazuz, aside from being corrupt, shameless in your political pandering, but you are also an incompetent. How can you even consider baring one and allowing others? rule of law? no, rule of politics. Left wing babble and wishful doings that hopefully will change in just a very few short days....
17. #6 - your reply has nothing to do with Marzel's right to go
redbourn ,   Tel Aviv   (02.06.09)
to Umm el-Fahm. This is why the left will crash on Tuesday! It is likely that the next government will redraw the border so that Umm el-Fahm will be in the West Bank. Its residents don't like the idea of living with their brothers in Jenin but they wanted to have the benefits and not the responsibilities of being Israeli. That Arabs want to bar Jews from an Israeli town is unthinkable! Martin
18. Seems like you don't believe in equal rights!
martin knopfman ,   Tel Aviv   (02.06.09)
Israeli Arabs thinking that they can block Israeli Jews from entering 'their' town is why the left will crash on Tuesday! Martin
19. what is good for the Arab is good for the Jew
Asaf Golan ,   Sugar Land   (02.06.09)
"a near-certain disruption of public order and may infringe on both public safety and the purity of elections" Hence Tibi should be kept from serving in the knesset.
20. racism?
fish tel-aviv   (02.06.09)
Arab citizens actually engage themselves in racism, they would not allow an election rep(fully legitime) to be there because he is a Jew with an agenda. The laws are i\universal for all citizens, we can't have one set of laws for the Jews - pay taxes, do your military duty, if attack police - go to jail, if riot - go to court, and another for Arab citizens - no military duty, taxes are a Zionist plot, police are enemies, but don't foget to pay us duly our Bituach Leumi allowances.
21. no one should riot..
Rami of Nazareth ,   Israel   (02.06.09)
it's true he is there to provoke and spread his hatred... however, give him the benifit of the doubt.. allow him to attend... if he starts stirring problems then have the police take him into custody and remove him... end of story, no big deal... If the system allows him to attend arabs should not make a big deal of it..
22. #13: obviosly you are not from there...stop inciting
Rami of Nazareth ,   Israel   (02.06.09)
you can't even spell the name correctly..
23. #6 marzel is a public figure although outlawed. you R not!
(02.07.09)
stop crying about your right already. since when r u a public figure?
24. #6 zhalke &all other anti israelis should have been banned
(02.07.09)
from participating in our politics like marzel
25. best answer ban all religious extremists &
fascists   (02.07.09)
26. what'll happen when arabs want to monitor jewish areas?
mike ,   israel (formerly usa   (02.07.09)
will there be the same support for democracy or is democracy dependent on who is wanting to exercise it? democracy is for everyone or it is for no one.
