(02.10.09)
my hats off to you. as an israeli i feel what you are saying is the total truth of the situation on the ground in israel. it is very fortunate for you to be living in israel which is a democratic country and where you can criticise to your heart's content. we welcome this critisism and pay attention fully to arab sentiments in our jewish country. we are not hate mongers. we want to coexist in peace with not only the israeli arabs but also with the arab population surrounding us. it is unfortunate when we hear during arab israeli demonstrations led by leaders such as zahalka, tibi, sanaa that the slogan "death to the jews" is allowed by your leaders that have full knesset membership. we are also discouraged when we see your arab leaders flying to enemy countries during war. this is treason. if they identify with these countries, we will be glad to give them a one way ticket. but don't come back to collect your pension and israel doesn't have to feed these leaders' families for eternity. if you do not like our democracy and wish to enter and live in any of the horenduous arab regimes, be my guest. equal rights and trust must be earned via actions on the ground. so far, your arab leaders did nothing to convince us israelis that they wish to become a part of our country as loyal and obedient citizens of the country. you do not see american jews carrying israeli flags and screaming death to america. neither do you see anything like this in other european countries....unless it is the muslim and north african immigrat hordes that do it continuously in most european countries. please take heed. if you wish to live as full fledged citizens of this jewish country you must behave as citizens first of all. your leaders must not incite, must not call for murder of jews, must not support enemy countries during war or peace times. your leaders should supply academic material that is suitable to both arab and jewish history and culture and must adapt to this country as other normal citizens and immigrants do in every civilized country around the world. you must also learn to develop your communities and civic structure without depending on the israeli government to support you fully. you must also pay taxes for services rendered. your arab nationality is not arab. it is israeli because you chose to live here and were given citizenship in this country. if you only take and not give back, you have zero grounds to complain. until such a time that you do not isolate yourselves into your mentality, rejectionist feelings about israel as a jewish country, you will not become part of the fabric of this country, and it will be entirely your fault, not the israelis' fault. is it any wonder that after listening to your leaders' speeches in the knesset, your leaders' trips to arab countries that do not recognize your country, israel, the hateful messages you relay in classrooms and media against the jews, the hateful propaganda and enticement you portray during demonstration, the violence your youth exhibits and the hate they do through violence against jews....until you do not get rid of these above actions, you won't become an integral part of this country. the writer is correct. it has been happening for 20 years now. why are you surprised then that us israelis will tend to choose right wing rather than left? one thing arabs must do is self examination and reflrction rather than blaming all of their ills on external forces, on others, on america, on the west, on israel, on conspiracy theories, etc.. until you start understabding and pointing the accusatory finger at yourselves and realizing that there is a cause/effect to your actions. untill then, nothing will help you in israel. then, take responsibility for your actions or lack of them.

33. #29 - Silent majorities have never meant anything
Josh ,   San Jose, USA   (02.10.09)
No government, democratic or dictatorial, pays the slightest attention to citizens who are silent. If you are not willing to speak out and vote your convictions, your opinion doesn't count. All Israel's minorities need to realize that they are going to be living in a very different country on Wendesday morning. Dodging IDF service (Disloyalty as Lieverman calls it) will no longer be tolerated. The Druze will finally get the credit they richly deserve for the loyalty they have shown for so many years. Arabs and Heradim need to get with the program or they are going to find Israel a very uncomfortable place to live. Look on the bright side. Once you take on equal responsibility, equal rights will surely follow.
34. #24 Terry: Wow! I appreciated your feedback
Adam Eliyahu Berkowi   (02.10.09)
It sounds like you have certainly gone the full journey to try peace, and have done so with an open mind and open eyes. I would love to hear more.

the moderates are only moderate to your face the reason why they do not speak out against the extremists is that they have the same aim as the extremists a one state solution called Palestine and Muslim/anachist domination of the world .the "moderates" are in fact pragmatists they only differ in methodology from the extremists and thus they are more dangerous than the extremists .Thus Sadat and Arafat obtained more concessions from Israel than the extremists and led us to where wew are today

you see the light,,,,maybe things will get better between the 2 populations.HOWEVER, wasn't you who answered 'NOTHING"on tv to the reporter's question"do you see anything good about Israel?"? I want to believe that you saw the light and we will be able to live as relatives as we are!
38. we get what we deserve
simon ,   haifa   (02.10.09)
Yes, please get out there and vote for someone like HaTnuah Ha Yeruka-Meimad (the Green Movement-Meimad). The chairman, Rabbi Melchior is a truely good man and has as i am sure you know a great supporter of Arab causes in Israel. I truelly sympathize with your plight. Lieberman is very dangerous. Be careful !
39. It's time for Truth!
Norma Fares   (02.10.09)
Ahmed Tibi, [Yasser Arafat’s ex-advisor], member of Knesset justified his double identities by stating: 'I don't have dual loyalty, and my identity is well defined,'' he said. ''I am a Palestinian Arab citizen of the State of Israel. I am both Palestinian and Israeli.'' What is the Conflict is Israeli-Palestinian? Where would Arab-Israeli “representatives” like Ahmed Tibi-- stand with? Although the answer is known, the question must always be raised as long such double identity’s issue is there threatening the essence of Israel’s existence.
40. You haven't got what you deserve. Yet.

41. You should run Mr Ali Zahalka
Jo   (02.10.09)
If we had heard voices like yourself speak loudly we would have built trust and bridges long ago. I have heard privately from friends such sentiments but never loudly and never from Arab members of the knesset. They alienated Israeli Jews with their words. We need to hear far more voices like yours.
42. Radicalized by Hamas
Dani' El ,   SF USA   (02.10.09)
How many times have we heard that fighting Hamas/Hezbollah only radicalizes more arabs? Truth is Hamas/Hezbollah has succeeded in radicalizing Israel. We've had enough! Time to fight those who seek to destroy us. They boast in their goals to kill every single Jew on earth? They've done so for 60 long years? Then they forfeit their right to live in Israel. or the earth for that matter. Judgment is at hand for Ishmael and Esau. You call that racist, but that's just typical turnspeak. YOU are the racists who seek to kill us for being Jews. This laid back surfin Jew has been radicalized by Hamas.
43. #29 - Rami - Good points from an Arab but...
William ,   Israel   (02.11.09)
I've asked several times on these posts what you personally experienced within Israel that you can call "inequality" or "racism". I believe there is some in Israel. Not surprising with so many diverse cultures and religions co-existing in the same place and vying for the same resources. But your post here seems to disagree with your previous posts of inequality. You state here that the Arab parties are the reason for Jews to hate Arabs by pitting them against each other and acting to undermine Israel. If that's true, then isn't our mutual enemy the Arab leadership? And wouldn't that mean Jewish reaction to Arabs is not racism but instigated tension brought on my Arab leaders who themselves act with racist intentions?
44. #24 - Terry - Changed the Torah?
William ,   Israel   (02.11.09)
Some Arab in your group actually claimed that Jews changed the Torah to omit Muhammed as the prophet??? The Torah, written and still in original form, from 5800 years ago, 4400 years before Muhammed was even born....somehow should have included him?? Did the Arabs also claim the Magna Carta gave Iran rights to a nuclear weapon but was changed in the last minute? I've heard doozies in my time with Arab claims, but this one takes the cake...even tops one who told me that Arabs arrived in present-day Israel to be friends with the natives and never harmed anyone nor built on existing cities/holy places. Oh, and NO Jews were there either.
