1. Of course the voters sent you (Left) a message
William ,   Israel   (02.11.09)
It says "we will not bow down to your ideological whims from your ivory towers that seek to be friends with our enemies and slice and dice our country into pieces solely to appease your conscience." Actually, the public has been saying that for years...you the Left have chosen NOT to listen. Even the Arabs are listening after seeing the polls that the public is getting more pissed off at the unfairness and wickedness coming from Arab parties...your best friends. You're not just warned, you've been served a summons to appear in the court of public opinion. May G-d have mercy on your souls after the Israeli public devours you.
2. The Left Is Dead - FINALLY!
Adina Kutnicki ,   Israel, new olah   (02.11.09)
3. The left is dead... Long live the left
Josh ,   San Jose, USA   (02.11.09)
The Palestinians have proven once and for all that the left's policy of negotiating with them is nothing but appeasement. Israel's recent economic history has discredited socialism vindicated the free market. That doesn't mean the left is dead. They are just going to have to adjust to the new reality. Take a look at Britain's labor party or America's democratic party and follow their example.
4. The citizens have decided
Arie ,   BaGolan   (02.11.09)
We will accept appeasement and surrender for only so long!
5. no the left is not dead....
Brian ,   Southern Israel   (02.11.09)
....but there is always next time, Ichud Leumi, will grow while all these other parties wither, our people are real, the rest are just opportunists.
6. THE LEFT WAS TRAMPLED BY THEIR SELF RIGHTEOUSNES AND BLINDNE
Jorge ,   Tegucigalpa   (02.11.09)
They sided once to often with Israels worst enemies, they justified once to often every atrocity ever commited against Israel and its citizens, they went to the border to treason once to often, they completely alienated Israels voters, they got what they deserve, they became completely irrelevant, maybe this makes them get their brains back.
7. there's a lot of left, left!
Lisa ,   Israel   (02.11.09)
Unfortunately both Likud and Kadima have a lot of leftist elements within them also - both regarding economics and security.
8. Meretz
jeremy ,   hula valley kibbutz   (02.11.09)
The left took a harsh blow because you have not listened to the people. We in the Center/right don't by your buy your idea because they have lead us to nothing but blood shed since Oslo. Your economic policies are not in keeping with the rest of the world. Now go sit in a corner, or Jenin, or anywhere else and cry because we don't want you/ Yeah the left is dead, and I am from a kibbutz
