It is imperative that Israel will have a unity government. Israeli citizens should demand it. Kadima Likud and Labor should start the process. Anything less is irresponsible and treason. Livni should be PM in continuity of the last government, Netanyahu vice PM and FM and Barak in Defence. Easy, isn't it?

of course I am biased, but for a real democracy the Swiss system is pretty good and works. I am a strong believer in people deciding- the government reps are chosen by the people, responsible to the people- the people are the Souvereign- not the government. I have lived in the US, Canada and Spain- I observe, experience....

It is almost impossible to peacefully change an electoral system because those who have the power to push for change are the beneficiaries of the current system. Unfortunately, you have to try very hard to get it right the first time.

State of Israel’s existence – yes, existence! – DOES NOT depend on legitimacy on the part of the nations of the world. The "nations of the world" have never accepted our existence. The simple fact of our existence negates basic principles of Christianity and Islam. Our existence depends on the will of God. How else can you explain our continued existence as a religion for 2000 years without a country and for 60 years as a beleaguered state?
