1. Tsipi enjoys the giddiness of being drunk on her power
Hen ,   Los Angeles   (02.15.09)
She's a die-hard feminist in a black pantsuit and will never take a secondary role to any man. It's women who voted her in - silly brainwashed women with no understanding of how Israel needs to defend herself.
2. shame
daniel ,   spain   (02.15.09)
It is really a shame but Livni will not make it. Although is the most voted party it doesn´t have the support. All we can wait is the same pseudo-laicist govern giving it all to the haredim. I hope Lieberman stop them too, and not only disloyal arabs
3. Doesn't get it
Ellen ,   Israel/USA   (02.15.09)
I find it scary that Livni doesn't seem to understand the Israeli political system. It is a system of coalition. A coalition is formed with people whose opinions are closest to yours. Yes she got 28 seats BUT she did not get 92. So, "droves" of people did NOT vote for her. Yes, Bibi got "only' 27 BUT more people voted in parties that are right than in left. Sometimes being mature is knowing when you lost. Livni--you lost. BTW ALL of this shows why Israel needs direct election of both a Prime Minister and representation by geographic area. Voting for parties serves no one ( but the parties)
4. Only in Israel
Sidney ,   USA   (02.15.09)
Would a woman with less than 25% of the vote think that she has a mandate to govern. Israel would be better off with her out of government.
5. From Livni's pen
Penina   (02.15.09)
to God's ears! Likud and right-wing voters didn't vote as they did - to end up with Livni in the government! It would be a complete betrayal of all those votes that went to Netanyahu. Livni - if you want to play in a "man's" world - then be a "man" - go to the opposition - where you were meant to go!

If The Shas & Liberman can put some of their differences asside and Peres acts like a profesional neutral president and not a politician then Bibi can put together a right wing coalition. Without the leftists tugging one arm and the right tug on the other then it may actually be possible to push through some right wing policies in an attempt to patch up at least some of the damage done by Olmert & Livni. Now Livni has ruled out a coalition thats based on Bibi as PM has put her into a situation of either form a left wing coalition which will almost certainly have to include the arab parties or sit on the sidelines and condem Bibis right wing policies. She is about to learn the first lesson of politics. Being in government but in a lesser position still gives you a voice and oportunity to make policies you want to see or break ones you don't like than it is if your sitting in oposition just talking about what you would do different if you were the PM. Livni is an oportunist and an amuter. Olmert might have been the scapegoat for all Kadimas failures but Livni was sitting right next to him in the cabinet offices and helping to make those policies. She was a failure before the election as foreign minister she would be even more of a failure as a leftist prime minister now lets hope we get a right wing government headed by Bibi.
7. Great! Now half Kadima will defect to Likud, Bibi can do it!
Jay ,   Toronto, Canada   (02.15.09)
Livme alone in the oposition can dream of giving away Jerusalem and Golan for a worthless piece of paper; you know like resolution 1701Piece now, but not tomorrow!
8. Country Trumps Ego♦
Jerry ,   Eilat, Israel   (02.15.09)
Sure it would nice for this Kadima voter to see Livni heading the government, but far more important is establishing a strong, long-lasting, broadly based government. If Bibi can do this more effectively than Tzipi, and that is what Peres thinks, that is fine with me. My ego is not tied up in this and I wish that our politicians would realize that ego is not what we need right now!
9. When the girl says "no" she means
Lena ,   Tel Aviv   (02.16.09)
"May be"
10. Good
Paleo ,   USA   (02.16.09)
Don't let Netanyahoo use you as the fig leaf for his extreme right-wing government. Let the world see what the right in Israel is really like.
11. OK, but remember it's a woman's prerogative to change her mi
Rami ,   London   (02.16.09)
nd. For purposes of our discussion Tsipi, Olmert, Barak and Peres can all be considered "women".
