I somehow cant imagine Lieberman as either Defense or Foreign minister. Besides I dont know why Bibi is in such a rush giving up defense ministry, first offered to Barak and now to kadimahs Mofaz - minister of past gaza jew expulsion. When Likud has its own ex chief of staff with Bugi Ya'alon. Im sure he isnt to thrilled with what hes hearing. Either way I can already taste Bibi will not head in the right direction and i dont see him lasting. he screwed up this election big time from a potential 40+ mandates to a paltry 27. We already had a bad experience with Amir Peretz. We must have somebody who knows very well Tsahal, we must have a General, or even someone with Barak's background. I don't want anymore somebody ho will build his experience on our soldier's blood at the next war. Give him any other ministry, but not the Defense one.

Does Lieberman speak English at all? His Hebrew alone is terrible... What kind of picture would he give of us as a FM???

I don't think that Lieberman is the best option for defense minister. What military experience does he have? Very little, if any. In my opinion, it should be a requirement that any defense minister has held the rank of Brigadier General or higher in the IDF. We cannot have a defense minister without experience as a military commander. Remember Amir Peretz? He didn't have enough military experience, and he was a disaster. Avigdor Liberman as FM might not be the best option either. I'm almost certain that the Americans and Europeans won't like him and it won't be good for us. Give him something else he wants: Finance or Internal Security.

If the guy represents so many voters, does he not have the right, pardon, the obligation, to seek an influential position? Let us hope that he takes defense minister and gets rid of the Hamas attacks.

Feiglin could have been today's Lieberman, but he too screwed up by staying in a party that hates him. If he were smart he would have jumped ship and taken his faction with him.

I would think Lieberman would make an excellent foreign minister. I would like to see Obama, Clinton or Blair try to bully him, no way. It's about time we had a tough person in that position.

our defence minister should have an IDF background, experience in the field, and yes we saw what happened with Perez, a fiasco. As for foriegn minister, I dont think we really need a "bull in a china shop", and certainly for PR reasons need one who has a very good command of the english language, in fact other languages would also be an asset. Those who feel Livni didnt do a good job in this position, maybe are right, but watching her on TV in the UK and hearing peoples reaction, she seemed to do good job. Well ministers can be changed.
