1. The rockets on Israeli territory cannot be tolerated.
Robert Bernier ,   Tel Aviv   (02.16.09)
The principle of self-defensive pre-emptive strikes are legitimate, as are targeted killings. That applies to heads of states who support terror, as are any and all heads of terror organizations, including religious and/or political leaders. Unfortenately democratic countries have traditionally been unable to agree on a definition of terrorism, a fact that has hindered efforts to fight the phenomenon on an international level. This new kind of war is explained at : http://xrl.us/bebh94
2. barbaric terror
Ilana   (02.16.09)
I wonder where all those caring human rightists are now. Imagine if we aimed rockets when Gazans were on their way to school. There would be an uproar. So where are you people??? Why don't you scream war crimes now? You see how you don't really care-it is just an excuse to vent your hatred.
3. Majority of the kibbutz's voted for the left
(02.16.09)
4. Two things I don't get.
Tahl ,   Ashdod, Israel   (02.16.09)
One. Where are Olmert's and Barak's actions following their promise for "disproportionate response" after the conclusion of operation Cast Lead? Don't they realize the Palis are testing our resolve now? Don't they realize that lack of response - even when we have no casualties - means we still live in fear, and thus admitting defeat? Two. Where is the entire world media now, why don't they report this? The same world media who crucified Israel for using "excessive force" and "collective punishment" against the Palestinians during Cast Lead? Why are they so silent now, when it comes to reporting unprovoked Palestinian violations of the cease fire, attacking Israeli civilians?
5. Why attack weapons tunnel AFTER they fire rockets?
Israel   (02.16.09)
Why not attack them ALL so they can't fire rockets? They clearly still have the capacity to smuggle.
6. Marco from Spain, where art thou?
Dana ,   Ramat Gan   (02.16.09)
7. rocket hit ... idf deterrence
robert ,   italy   (02.16.09)
cast lead .... big failure olmert not suitable for shalit negotiations Livni not suitable for Israel governement leadership
8. Round-the-clock bombing of Philadelphi
Mike ,   Israel   (02.16.09)
The IAF has to bomb the Philadelphi Corridor around the clock for 3 days. Then the Palestinians can fire another rocket and we will bomb for 5 days, Another rocket and it is a week. Why can't we give these savages living hell?
9. response to "barbaric terror"
sartori ,   Toronto   (02.16.09)
Hey, I'm one of those self-righteous "human rightist"... except my post was not allowed through. Maybe you could try talking to them about that... if you want debate, you're not going to find it here. Take care.
10. To Sartori #9
Dana ,   Ramat Gan   (02.17.09)
Often, talkbacks don't get published due to technical problems. I've learned to save my talkbacks as Word files and then, if I see they don't get published after a while, I "copy-paste" them again. They do publish whatever answers to criteria of proper conduct. Just search articles and you'll see lots of frank anti-Israeli talkbacks, even insultive ones, so you can't honestly claim ynet do not publish anti-Israeli responses. As for your being a "human-rightist", all good and dandy, just check facts and hitory before you make charges. Have a good day.
11. Did the Gaza operation fail?
Terry Traub ,   Phoenix, Arizona USA   (02.17.09)
I seem to remember Olmert et al declaring that they would not tolerate renewed rocket launches following the Gaza operation. So here we are, with daily barrages, seemingly back to the way things used to be, only with a partially destroyed Gaza and an extra 1000 people dead, give or take. Not that I want to see more dead, but perhaps the IDF needs to move back in, occupy a perimeter, and set up ultra-fast response systems on the ground and in the air to take out the launchers within seconds instead of minutes. They might get a few more of the perpetrators this way. Of course, it's tough luck for those within the perimeter, but at least they won't need to worry about Hamas thugs coming around for a while.
