31. Obama is an idiot just like El Baradei.
Steven Wilson ,   Anchorage, Alaska   (02.17.09)
There is a reason that the United States has nuclear weapons as well as Israel. It makes the other guy think twice before he even considers invading our country. If the muslims weren't so bent on taking over the world for Allah....we wouldn't need them.
32. You spoke of the ultimate bottom-line, #22
Cameron ,   USA   (02.17.09)
Atomic weapons are Israel's ultimate trump card. Those weapons brought an end to Arab large-scale attacks & wars with Israel using formal armies. They are indeed the ultimate Arab fustration which does not alter.
33. Arabs don't believe in treaties at all
Steve from Raleigh   (02.17.09)
It's only valuable if it's something they can use to hurt someone else. Otherwise Arab treaties are good for lining parakeet cages and whelping boxes.
34. #15 - Khalid you are a very sad man....
Andy ,   ramat hasharon   (02.17.09)
and very stupid too. Don't you see that YOU and people LIKE YOU caused the destuction in Gaza? And it is clear that it is not over. If more rockets fall on us we will flatten Gaza again. And with Bibi in control, we will not stop until we finish the job. That's what I want to see from my government - to destroy those who are attacking us. You will never have anything but the shitty lives you lead until you decide to compromise and make peace with us. Until then, you will have more and more rubble - becuase that is the kind of government YOU and people LIKE YOU encourage and support.
35. ElBaradei of Ikwan
Neil Richards ,   Cheshunt, Australia   (02.17.09)
ElBaradei is a member of the Ikwan the mothership of Hamas
36. #23
Jake ,   New York   (02.17.09)
almost half of the 1300 people murdered in Gaza by Israeli thugs were children and women, who clearly cannot be Hamas militants. But go ahead and ignore these facts. Ignore the white phosphorus bombs, ignore the disgusting writings on the wall left by those thugs saying death to arabs; ignore bombing the ambulances and the mosques.. what israel is doing is such a shame for every Jew in the world.. i'm appalled by this terrorist (yes i said it) state which all it does is create reasons to murder more innocent people.
37. Can the UNO be trusted ?
Robert Bernier ,   Tel Aviv   (02.17.09)
It is the duty of every State, not only Israel, to defend its citizens – Its absolute duty. Only Israel has the right to decide what is best for the protection of its citizens. Two years after the Libanese war ended Security Council Resolution 1701 has not been implemented, so how can Israel trust UNIFIL ? Condemning Israel is easy but doesn’t bring solutions. Only a clear, fair and objective approach of the painful Israelo-Arab problem will have a chance to solve it as explained at : http://xrl.us/bi5c8
38. its about time

39. Yes double-standards.
Bassem ,   6 October, Egypt   (02.17.09)
We all know how the international community treats the regimes that have, pretended to have or intended to have nukes. Iran, Iraq and North Korea etc. they are all being listed in the nuclear black list, and we are all accept this classification. But when you look at Israel specially you will find NO pressures, NO attacks and No even blame on having such nukes, this is the double-standards. What we want that all those not signed the NPT or signed but violating it to be treated as one package and actions should be taken against them all with the same criteria.
40. Israel has already nulled the 2000 NPT Review
observer   (02.17.09)
Confirming the Middle East issue as a “serious challenge” to the 2000 NPT Review Conference, president-designate of the conference, Ambassador Abdallah Baali of Algeria, stated that since the situation in the Middle East has not changed from 1995, “we expect very strong pressure from the Arab states during this conference to have language singling out Israel.” At the 1995 NPT Review and Extension Conference (NPTREC), the NPT was extended indefinitely only after adoption of the Resolution on the Middle East. This calls for all states in the Middle East to accede to the NPT and place their nuclear facilities under international safeguards. The resolution came about at the insistence of a number of Arab states and several members of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM), under the leadership of Egypt. So, in fact Arab states do not have to abide by the NPT.
41. is rockets tech under NPT?
observer   (02.17.09)
Egypt began collaborating with Argentina on the Badr-2000 (which parallels the Argentine Condor II) in 1984. The Badr/Condor was to be an advanced two-stage, solid-fuel, inertially guided ballistic missile, and was described as "state-of-the-art." It was expected to deliver a 700 kg payload over 1,000 km, accurate to within 100 meters. In late September 1989, Assistant Secretary of State John Kelly testified to the House Foreign Affairs Middle East Subcommittee that Egypt had terminated its cooperation with Iraq on the Condor II. According to press reporting from June 1990, China has signed a protocol with Egypt to help modernize the Sakr missile factory, "enabling it to produce a newer version of Soviet antiaircraft missiles, the surface-to-surface Scud-B and Silkworm and the Egyptian Sakr rockets." http://www.globalsecurity.org/wmd/world/egypt/missile.htm
42. A quick read of ElBaradei's article makes his purpose clear:
L ,   Elad, Israel   (02.17.09)
Of all the issues in his article "Recipe for Survival", ElBaradei writes: "ABOVE ALL (my emphasis), we need to halt the glaring breach of core principles of international law such as limitations on the unilateral use of force, proportionality in self-defense and the protection of civilians during hostilities in order to avoid a repeat of the civilian carnage in Iraq and, most recently, in Gaza." So basically, this is the modus operandi here for the entire article. He praises the Obama admin for pledging "direct diplomacy with Iran, without preconditions" as "long overdue" while bashing Israel and following this, the coup de grace is his calling for more UN respect and funds, especially the Security Council: "The Security Council, often paralyzed and with its authority dwindling ...should have a robust and well defined peacekeeping capability"....meaning that their resolution failed to immediately yank Israel out of Gaza (that was Israel's call and motivated by deference to the Obama inauguration rather than giving a hang about the UN Security Council (headed by such Israel-lovers as Libya, Turkey, Russia and France). Oh, yes and Mohamed also calls for giving "...the International Atomic Energy Agency sufficient legal authority...to ensure that non-nuclear-weapon states use nuclear energy exclusively for peaceful purposes." Ahem. Who might that mean? I'm wondering what a nuclear advisor -- NOT a UN spokesperson nor a diplomat-- is doing writing an article for the PUBLIC at large in an international paper instead of submitting his "Recipe for Survival" as an in-house UN recommendation to pass on to member Countries??? He's seen the media at work on the Gaza situation, and now he's setting them on track to focus on Israel's (alleged) nuclear program, while praising the "dialog" with Iran. Talk about spin. November cannot come soon enough....buh-bye Mohamed.
43. A wolf child become a wolf
daveed ,   Los Angeles, USA   (02.17.09)
There is an expression in Farsi that says " A wolf's child becomes a wolf one day! ". A moslem no matter what if he is a scientist in NASA or a shoe shiner in the streets when it comes to the stupidity or being unfair to a non Moslem what ever or who ever, he can be a champion among the nations in those !.
