Is this something to be proud of? If people are degenerates and cannot be trusted to behave appropriately in public, that's a sign of illness (and hashem forbid how we should handle when gays are the same, or when different ethnic groups can't work together - shall we eventually have separate busses for Ashkenaz Heterosexual Females, Druze Bisexual Males, etc?). We have that here in the U.S. Anyone can start their own private business. It's called the capitalist system. Freedom, it's a wonderful thing.

In the US, businesses that offer a public service don't have the option to act completely private and discriminatory. Numerous court cases have established that "free association" of private business does not let people discriminate freely. If you tried to have a mall that did not allow blacks to shop, you would find out about this very quickly. Freedom from discrimination is more important than freedom to discriminate.

The secular world in Israel goes crazy because of the issue of coercion, a problem we don't face in this country. In fact, I once lived in a neighborhood that Orthodox Jews began moving into. Out of respect, my mother decided not to smoke outside on Saturday, but she wasn't about to give up driving or shopping that day, nor would our neighbors have expected her to. However, in Israel, the Haredim feel they have a right to tell all of those non-religious Israelis how to live their lives, and as a result, there's a tremendous amount of antipathy on the part of Israelis toward the Haredim. In fact, I've sometimes wondered if the Arabs ever left the Israelis the hell alone, would the next "war" be one between secular and ultra-Orthodox Jews?

Threw stones at a bus? Have they any idea of the possible outcome of such an act? This could have caused a fatal accident killing innocent lives.
