31. tainted Jews?
Lisa ,   Switzerland   (02.20.09)
Yitzchak- when you stop blaming the West and especially Catholics for everything that is wrong in Israel- then you can be a real country and homeland. Look at yourself- can you truly say you are perfect in every way? NOT! There is more to freedom and proper attire than covering your head- and this has nothing whatsoever to do with the Catholics, so go and think about it.
32. to # 9 - I can't believe the ignorance and disrespect
sergio HaDaR tezza ,   Israel   (02.20.09)
You are so ignorant of 3500 years of Jewish history, which Yemenite Jews are living witness to, that you can propose to them to eat at an Arab's falaffel stand! No Jew respecting his/her own culture, and Yemenite Jews are that, eats the food cooked by a non-Jew, since it would not be Kosher. Why not propose to them to cut their kids' peoth, or any of the other things that the Ashkenazi secular masters had them do in the '50s?
33. Difference between Jews and Arabs
Richard ,   Boca Raton, USA   (02.20.09)
The State of Israel would do anything to help their fellow Jews and bring them to Israel where they could live productive and safe lives. God bless this family from Yemen. Arabs on the other hand have kept the Palestinians enslaved in "camps" for generations and use them as pawns in the hate war against Israel. With all the Arab money from oil, why haven't the Arabs gotten together and helped the Palestinians? They don't care!! And the western world want's Israel to cede land to these people. Never happen, now that Bibi Netanyahu will be forming the Israeli government.

35. publicizing the "escape" of yemenite jews

what exactly is wrong with the israeli press? why are we publicizing the "escape" of this yemenite family when the publication of same puts the rest of the jews in yemen in danger. where has our common sence gone?

This # 20 sees Jews coming from Western [ = catholic for him ] lands as "tainted" by the modern world . He still lives in the middle ages i think . It's the kind of people who want segregated buses and so on . Don't take offence with such people
37. #18- even your historians have proved that to be

false. Your leaders have been quoted in proving that to be false. Expulsion orders have proved your story, long told to absolve your state of its abuses committed in building it. I can give you details, but I'll let you see PalestineRemembered.com as a good source for information. I dare you to visit this website.

your post is right on the mark. however, a small correction..... the amazing thing is that, no, those jews from arab lands that were kicked out and forced to leave under dangerous arab government policies of persecution, hanging, stealing their homes and bank accounts and valuables and finally kicking them out of all arab lands... WERE NOT HELPED FINANCIALLY BY ANY ONE AND ESPECIALLY NOT BY ANY EUROPEAN OR AMERICAN AID AT ALL. israel absorbed them when they were just an infant country and settled them using israel's money alone. no one helped financially. no one, except israel itself. america has never helped israel financially or economically until the 1973 yom kipur war, never prior to 1973. it is the jews around the world and in every country, especially usa and europe, that have helped their brethren, not any american or european government administration of that time. only the jews helped. only the jews!!! israel has never gotten aid from anyone prior to 1973. period! this is a known fact. now, if you look at the abysmal treatment that palestinians got at the hands of their loving muslim arab brethren, you may cringe at the suffering and tragedy the arab countries brought on these palestinians (no citizenship, no rights, interned in refugee camps to fester hate and dissolusionment, etc...). unlike israel, arab countries used the palestinian refugees as FOOTBALL in their game to annihilate israel, knowing that they can't defeat israel militarily, they knew that the palestinians were just the kind of people the arabs can radicalize, train, make desperate, etc... and fona;;y use them in their battlle against the jewish state. this is the travesty. the travesty being that those same idiotic palestinians never realize who their true enemy and user is! the users are those who vily claim to love and fight on their behalf. vivienne beirut lebanon

((60 years later the Palestinians and their supporters still push this lie)) Sixty years on the Palestinians still push for justice to return from the people who stole their homes and country. Sixty years on you push a myth that was debunked by YOUR OWN HISTORIANS... There is overwhelming evidence to prove your myth totally wrong, but invite you to search for yourself. ((The Jewish fighters won a war in 1948 started by Arab armies and militias who told the Arabs to flee in advance of these invading armies)) You, in coming to Palestine and settling, refusing to hire Arabs, and knowingly wanting a state in an Arabic homeland have declared war on the Arabic people far before any armies were unleashed. You began this war, which didn't end in 1948. If you had won the war you would be living in peace now. ((Now they want what does not belong to them and continue to blame Israel for their own poor decisions)) I don't follow. What? ((The mess Hamas leadership made of Gaza is part of this ongoing saga)) No, it's the mess you and your American-made Israeli owned weapons you made in Gaza. Evading responsibility for what you admit yourself was a terrible tragedy is part and parcel to the failed PR campaign that your army unleashed, even though it stated that it has objectives in waging this war, which inevitably turned out to be a massacre. ((In sharp contrast, Jewish refugees have been resettled with a helping hand extended from all parts of the world.)) You forget that this is the supreme goal of the Zionist mission, and somewhat provoked by your leaders. You only complain of refugees from Arabic countries because you want to delegitimize the plight of the Palestinian people who, unlike any other people, are not given the inalienable right to return to their homeland.

Your post is full of the sort of lies and fallacies that I've seen recurring. To begin, in 1947, Arabs inhabited and owned 94% of Palestine, with Jews only 5% (see maps for details). If ottoman papers are correct, well, I don't see how that strengthens your argument. Catherina, it is not fair that a person who hails from Europe, Canada, United States, South America, etc.... whose family has never touched Palestine has automatic citizenship and a greater claim to that land than someone whose family has lived there for centuries. Israel's Jewish majority was Herzl's dream and only the byproduct of the 1948 expulsion. Jordan is not Palestine. Get that into your heads: Jordan is not the Palestinian homeland, nor will it ever be. Your leaders' attempts to resettle Palestinians in Jordan (likely to swallow up the West Bank and possibly Gaza, eliminate Palestinian factions like the PLO have failed). Bring me proof that Arabs immigrated to Palestine in 1885-1945. Your greatest proof is the population changes, which was not 230,200 Arabs, but rather 432,000 and rose gradually from that point to 1947. That your figures are incorrect by themselves only further suggest that you and your propaganda sources are lying... I say it again: Jordan is not Palestine, and the events of 1971 in which 5000 (not 10000) were killed is proof of this separation in entity. And I say this again: Palestinians are not Syrians, Iraqis, Egyptians, Moroccans, Jordanians or any other nationality. You hoped they would assimilate into other nations so they would forget about their original homeland and the expulsion of 1948. Forced assimilation into other countries is a crime, and that shows, Catherina, that you and your kind have little skill for the law.

Sarah wants the Palestinian refugees who were expelled and thrown out of their homes to be absorbed into these countries in order that they forget their country, their history, their heritage, and eliminate the evidence of the patch of guilt in Israel's history.

Richard ,   Boca Raton USA   (02.20.09)
To #38 Someone (coward) in Egypt: Don't you dare mention your god Allah in the same sentence with these wonderful Jews from Yemen who have chosen to make their home in Israel. Allah means death, suffering, destruction, suicide bombers, dependency, no future, killing Jews, and a total chaotic economy driven by a hate of Israel. You are such a an idiot that you have to question why these angels are even Jewish. You were born to hate Jews - shame on you!! To # 39 Cynthia...you are on the money when stating that the palestenians are just pawns in the chess game of Arab leaders. They did nothing to help their brothers and will never do anything

"Sixty years on the Palestinians still push for justice to return from the people who stole their homes and country. Sixty years on you push a myth that was debunked by YOUR OWN HISTORIANS... There is overwhelming evidence to prove your myth totally wrong, but invite you to search for yourself." Oh, where do I begin? Let's keep it short because I have more to say further down. The land was bought from the Ottoman Turks who had been in charge for 500 years. There was no so-called Palestinian nationalism agitation. In fact, the land was poorly populated -- it was nothing more than an Ottoman Turkish backwater -- that was 80% desert and 20% swamp. Jews came; reclaimed the desert, cleaned up the swamps and then -- AND ONLY THEN -- did the Arabs think, wow, this is a nice place. I want to live here. Prior to that, don't forget, Arabs were your quintessential nomads. Not "sons" of the desert, but rather "fathers" of the desert. You let your sheep and goats close crop the land, destroy it and leave it barren, and then you moved on. "You, in coming to Palestine and settling, refusing to hire Arabs, and knowingly wanting a state in an Arabic homeland have declared war on the Arabic people far before any armies were unleashed. You began this war, which didn't end in 1948. If you had won the war you would be living in peace now." I repeat -- the land was PURCHASED. It had been the property of the Ottoman Turks. There was never a country called "Palestine." Do not suggest otherwise; we here on TB KNOW better. In 1947, a two-state solution was offered and rejected by Arabs, who preferred to go to war. They lost. Of course, Arab leadership told the Arabs to move out of the way of the "conquering armies," and some people foolishly did. The ones that did not are citizens of Israel today. Your brother Arabs failed to deliver on their promises, but how is that the fault of Israel? "I don't follow. What? " Easy. When I purchase something, it belongs to me. Especially if I have to fight six wars to keep it. "No, it's the mess you and your American-made Israeli owned weapons you made in Gaza. Evading responsibility for what you admit yourself was a terrible tragedy is part and parcel to the failed PR campaign that your army unleashed, even though it stated that it has objectives in waging this war, which inevitably turned out to be a massacre." Well, I think the various Arab armies and terrorist organizations can be held responsible for a lot of the destruction. Israel BUILDS; Arabs DESTROY. Hasn't sixty-years of well-documented history taught you ANYTHING? Also, you need to check the definition of "massacre." And how is Israel to blame for Hamas using women, children, civilian populations, the infirm and the elderly as human shields? An ammunition dump is a legitimate military target -- why Hamas would deliberately endanger noncombatants is beyond my capacity to understand, but, then again, I am not an Arab; nor am I a terrorist. I do not expect to understand. If you keep looking to the past, you will never be able to move forward. The Palestinians have made a lot of incredibly bad choices, but they were theirs to make. Arabs fought wars, brought terror to the world on an enormous scale and now want the world to undo sixty years' worth of Arab mistakes. Grow up and move on. It just is not going to happen. You want a "Palestine," move to Jordan, and change the name.

You people seem to be sending long rants that all seem to be the same confounding propaganda you always repeat to each other. I don't see how Palestinians' use of the land strengthens your argument, the description of which is clearly distorted, but that you should say that the Zionist activities made Arabs come and live in the land is simply laughable. Palestine was not poorly populated; although controlled by the Ottoman Turks, Palestinian Arabs inhabited it, absent all the Europeans who came and turned it into a war zone. Only six percent of Palestine was ever purchased prior to the 1947 partition which gave 55 percent to you (though you amounted a mere 33 percent of the population, one sixth of which were combatants). You say there never was a Palestine, yet Herzl himself, the founder of Zionism, named the land "Palestine," and not "Israel." I don't think it was called "Israel" until shortly before May 14, 1948. Although the Turks governed Palestine, they controlled Syria, Iraq, and other countries. Was there never a Syria? An Iraq? Does that then allow a people who have never set foot in these lands to just take it over, strengthened by some overdue 3000 year old claim? And as I said, this "two state solution" was completely unfair (though not as unfair as the one being offered today), giving 55% to 33% (85-95% of them newly arrived Europeans); Ben-Gurion and co. were not satisfied with this, so took an additional 20-30% of what was to be the Arabic state (had Egypt and Jordan not stepped in, Gaza and the West Bank would have been taken in 1948 and been part of the currently drawn map of Israel. The Arabs that remained in the extra areas taken (Galilee, for example) were, in many cases, ordered expelled; in others, like Nazareth, the invading general refused to carry out expulsion orders. The Arab leadership has failed to deliver its promises, yes, but they have sunk to a new level of low these days now they not only make peace, but also (as in Egypt's case) collaborate in Israel's daily persecution of the Palestinians/ other Arabs. ((Israel BUILDS; Arabs DESTROY. Hasn't sixty-years of well-documented history taught you ANYTHING?)) Hasn't sixty years of well documented history taught YOU anything? You caused billions of dollars in damages to Gaza, killed thousands of civilians knowingly, indifferently, and irresponsibly, and your human shield argument has been used each and every time your irresponsible behavior (which has even caused friendly fire deaths in the last operation) ends in tragedy, although the evidence is overwhelmingly against you. I tried researching this human shield argument, even watched the youtube videos which you have claimed as evidence of your claims, but they have shown nothing, absolutely nothing. Let me guess: Israel goes to depths to spare civilian casualties, right? 750+ civilians dead was all accidental, even with the most sophisticated, accurate weapons mankind has ever produced. The last paragraph should be the other way around: you wish that the Arabs will erase all the cruelty you have done to the Palestinians by, as you say, "move to Jordan and change the name," thereby allowing your existence which was only engineered by, as Danny Rabinovitz calls it, "Israel's original sin." You have not won the war, Sarah. It still rages on.

55. #13, There is no such thing as "Palestine"
Jake   (02.20.09)
The would-be-existence of such a place is conditional on the completion of a political process in which the Palestinian Arabs fulfil their end of the bargain, namely the recognition of the inalienable rights of the Jewish people to national sovereignty in the State of Israel. As long as the Arabs work to undermine Israel's right to exist, their will be no "Palestine".
56. #20, Yitzhak, I disagree
Jake   (02.20.09)
It is not customary in Judaism for unmarried girls to cover their hair. As for Biblical customs, there is no prescription for head coverings for either men or women. These became part of Jewish Law in the post-Biblical Talmudic era. The veil worn by this girl resembles a hijab. Could it be that this is the influence of the Islamic society she came from in Yemen, which imposes the hijab on females? You are also wrong about Catholic customs. Tradionally, women were expected to cover their hair in church, and in some Catholic countries, females would wear the 'mantilla' veil, at least in church.

With your opening line it sounds like you were going to bring down the sword of "hell" on some infidel's neck. (like the guy in Buffalo did to his wife days ago) The problem with you radical Muslims is that you believe the crap you have been spoon fed since birth. To bad you were not born Jewish and received love in a home where two caring parents taught you civility and independence and how to respect all others. 100 million radical Muslims in this world (and still counting) is quite a depressing thought. You don't produce anything but HATE and destruction while you are reciting verses from your quack holy books. Get a life and join the human race.

He he he! Excellent source of information- that you should listen to such people really tells me where you get your information. This man is not a scholar, but in your eyes he is because he defends you and attacks the religion he probably never attributed himself to. Even the Jerusalem Post, a newspaper much more radical than ynet, has doubted his story as true. You don't get to re-write history, as many of you have already tried to distort, has been more accurately told by Pappe, Morris, Sternhall, Schlaim, and Segev. I dare you to pay their works a visit- you can learn a thing or two, and spare my having to send all these talkbacks to ignorant people like you!
