You said, "Please do not respond or call me about this..." I don't think you have anything to worry about...because I doubt anybody has a clue as to what you wrote.

Thank you so much for going to speak to the trainee officers. I read your article in Hebrew over the weekend and find it just as shocking and sad in English on Sunday. I think that people like of your stature who are also shapers of public opinion should regard an invitation to talk to the young soldiers who put their lives on the line for each and every one of us as a privilege and an obligation. I hope your words will rouse the sleepy intellectuals from their beauty sleep and imprisonment to convenience. I bet that an invitation to talk to students at Oxford with an air ticket included would probably be more attractive. Thank you Yair for being a mensch.

1) Come up with a speach to demonize the right as war mongers, and religous as "non-elite". 2) Drive over the camp and make sure you take the "israeli media" with you. 3) Brain wash the soldiers and the people through the "media" by the propeganda. 4) Go home thinking what would this country do without you.

You're right, although somehow I suspect an invitation to Oxford, even without the plane ticket, would be more attractive to these intellectually dishonest hypocrites who are no doubt blissfully unperturbed by the calls for academic boycotts against Israel that emanate from such quarters.

Columnist Yair Lapid Forced to Pay for Insulting Article Reported: 22:53 PM - Feb/23/09 (IsraelNN.com) Former soldier Hananel Dayan, who made headlines for his refusal to shake hands with then-Chief of Staff Dan Halutz following the "Disengagement", was awarded 12,000 shekels by the Jerusalem Magistrate's Court for insulting statements contained in an article by columnist Yair Lapid in the Hebrew-language daily Yediot Aharonot. Lapid and Yediot were ordered to pay an additional three thousand shekels in court and attorney fees. The court found Lapid guilty of fabricating several of the charges against Dayan in his article. Judge Oded Shoham ruled that Dayan could not sue Lapid for slander, as Dayan's own controversial action had transformed him into a public figure subject to public criticism. In addition, Lapid's column was noticeably editorial in nature and did not claim to be purely factual, the judge said.
