31. Avi #28: You want a "left to center-left" government?
Steve   (02.22.09)
Between the two, NU is the only party that outright rejected any territorial compromise. This is not "important?" You think MKs who hold this view would add nothing to a governing coalition? You wrote Adina, "Your right wing mandate might survive as a united coalition to August of this year." Perhaps. From my reading, the biggest destroyer of "right wing" governments has been capitulation in the face of immoral international and American pressure. Should "Bibi" cave-in to immoral Barack Hussein Obama administration pressure, it's a fairly sure thing his right wing governing coalition will fall apart. This is the history of this sort of thing. It happens time and again in Israel.
32. Avi #29 you made an anti-semetic slur
Besalel ,   Kew Gardens, NY   (02.22.09)
Israel belongs to all the Jews including the ones not there presently. Your grandfther probably lived in a shtetl and if he didnt then his grandfather certainly did. If Israel does nt belong to ALL the Jews then it doesnt belong to ANY of the Jews.
33. #6 SHAUL - FEIGLIN'S PROGRAM
Marcella   (02.22.09)
Feiglin has a program. Here is a sample for you, from a recent interview by Ynet: http://www.ynetnews.com/articles/0,7340,L-3636401,00.html Although I was disappointed with Moshe's refusal to join the National Union before the elections, he is an honorable man with a vision. But I agree with many who think that Moshe's obstinate presence in Likud hurt the right wing vote. Had he joined NU, many of the right wing votes that went to Likud, Lieberman and other small parties would have gone straight to NU. Perhaps they would not have been enough for a majority, but those results would have given nationalist voters of the right and center enough confidence in the belief that they can become a majority next time. So far, these pro-Kadima-Likud results have solved nothing. The country will stay stuck with a leftist government. Those who voted Likud to get rid of Kadima now realize that they were wrong. MK Aryeh Eldad has what it takes to become an excellent Prime Minister. He is honorable, intelligent and loves the land of Israel without compromise. His Hatikva movement is open to secular and religious voters. We need to keep an eye on Eldad. Livni, Lieberman and Netanyahu are completely discredited as politicians.
34. You are All Barking Up the Wrong Tree
Aryeh ,   Bet Shemesh   (02.22.09)
If Feiglin's goal were to create a Right-wing government, then many of the comments that were said here might be true. But that's NOT his goal. Feiglin's goal (clearly spelt out in www.jewishisrael.org) is to change the entire country from being thst state of the Jews to the Jewish State. In order to do this, you need to lead, and in this country, leadership doesn't come from NU or any other sectoral party. The world's best back-seat-driver can still not change the direction o the car.
35. Bibi is CENTER! Zipi is EXTREME LEFT! FEIGLIN IS JUST RIGHT!
David   (02.22.09)
36. #7: No he wasn't elected to form a unity government!
!!!!!!!!!   (02.22.09)
37. Aryeh #34: What do you recommend?
Steve   (02.22.09)
Of course you are correct. Israel has no leader. But the right keeps voting for Likud time after time after time -- hoping for a different result -- because, we are told, a vote for a smaller party is a "wasted vote." This happened in 2003 when Ariel Sharon was re-elected by the right, AFTER he campaigned on the theme, "A Palestinian State is inevitable," and "We will have to make very painful concessions." The right voted for Likud / Sharon in 2003 after he signed on to the Bush/ Saudi road map, and after Sharon expelled thousands of Jews, the right screamed, "We were betrayed!" The right wasn't betrayed. The right voted for betrayal! Just as it voted for "Bibi" February 10, 2009. Bibi has been very clear. He will negotiate with our enemies; he will work intimately with Obama; he will court Kadima. He will arrest soldiers who refuse to expel Jews. He will expel Feiglin from the party when he is able. Yet Feiglin clings to "Bibi." What is your recommendation?
38. Feiglin's information is wrong
Z M Salasnik ,   Bushey, UK   (02.22.09)
Moshe Feiglin may be right in opposing a unity government, but his historical information is wrong. There have been at least 3 unity governments in UK during 20th century - both World Wars and early 1930s.

Churchill brought lefitst appeasers into the government during the war. Might this have been partially responsible for Churchill's (England's) inability to act against the Nazi genocide against the Jews and other subhumans? FDR was also helpless to act. What of Chrurchill's unwillingness to allow Jewish refugees into Palestine during the war? Was this because he joined with leftist appeasers and traitors? Churchill was defeated before the war was over. Maybe you are right. Maybe Feiglin is right? Maybe it is not a good idea to join hands with the left? With leftist appeasers and traitors?
40. Felgin is right and he deserves to be PM not Bibi or Livni
zionist forever   (02.23.09)
Its clear that whoever joins him Bibi will be the next PM but he has betrayed Feligin which probably cost him alot of votes to the nationalist parties. Lets hope that Netanyahu doesn't screw up and follow in the footsteps of Olmert & Livni. Next time around lets have Felgin in charge. He is right wing but not so radical the public will have a hard time electing him if he can improove his image but he is a straight talker and the kind of man we need as PM. Liberman like Shas talk tough but will prostitute himself to anybody thats willing to pay the price. Livni has commited herself to the left. She even said that the election of Obama is a good thing because hopefully he would put preasure onto the Israeli government to make concessions to the palestinains. Barak is a political amuter, before he agreed to the unilateral ceasefire he did a good job in Gaza but in general he has been far from a great defense minister and before Olmert he was considered to be one of the worst PMs ever. He has Olmert and the bungler Peretz to thank for his reseraction. If Felgin is head of Likud then my vote is garunteed.

Avi ,   Israel   (02.23.09)
You wrote: "...betrayed Feligin which probably cost him alot of votes to the nationalist parties" How many mandates did these votes add to parties like NU or Bayit HaYehudi? Excuse me, but you seem to preach some imaginary reality which has nothing to do with the election results and thus neither with the ideological profile of the electorate. Many protest votes went to Lieberman, condemned by you somebody ready to prostitute his party for anybody. Netanyahu gave already Hebron to the Palestinians and trust me; he'll continue the same exact path of Ariel Sharon and the hitnatkut. Our issues in the Middle East are not decided by the foolish local religious leaders, may they be sheikh Yassin or Moshe Feiglin. There will be a Palestinian state sooner than what you think and many outposts will be history. Our state will pay bitterly for the foolish, megalomanic and short-sighted policies. Feiglin for PM? It is as improbable as for Jean-Marie Le Pen to become the French PM. The extremists belong to the fringes in a civilized country. If Feiglin had the majority it would be clear that his ideology is nothing but the other side on the medallion where Hamas is the other side.
