1. Since when is Livni a Leftist, you putz?
The Leftist parties refused to endorse Livni for PM, because she is not "one of them". The Arab parties are boycotting her. Netanyahu, on the other hand, is embracing Kadima.
The Left wants Kadima in the opposition to boost their own emasculated condition? Let them stew in their own juice.

"the Right’s doctrine is simply impossible.
As opposed to the common perception, the 2009 Netanyahu has not moderated."
Let Netanyahu have his right-wing bloc of 65. Once the public sees how counterproductive it is, the pendulum will swing back. I just hope there is a left of center leader with the strength and wisdom to stand up to the right and reach agreement on ending the conflict.

Making an agreement to end the conflict?
Did not BenGurion try that in 1947?
Did not Barak try that in 2000?
Were there not a million other attempts made at such an agreement?
The only agreement they will understand is the one the Nazis accepted in May 1945 or the Soviets took in 89: UNCONDITIONAL SURRENDER

4. A leftist victory could be catastrophic for the Jews.
I must give Misgav credit where credit is due.
His brief historical review "where the Right formed a narrow government and then collapsed" is relevant and worth exploring:
Misgav: "Rabin defeated Shamir after two years of such government. Ehud Barak crushed Netanyahu after three years. (The) government formed by Ariel Sharon ended with the Likud splitting and Kadima’s establishment."
Quite right and as we've pointed out previous to this piece, the consequences of a narrow, right-leaning government caving-in to immoral U.S. pressure has proven deadly, time (Shamir) and time (Netanyahu) after time (Ariel Sharon), as Misgav points out.
All three of these former prime minister's surrendered in the face of immoral / hostile U.S. pressure. Ariel Sharon's disengagement from Gaza had to be the worst and the most shocking betrayal.
We expect the left to do these things. We do not expect this behavior from the right. That is why Netanyahu -- a weak politician -- needs as strong a right-leaning government as he can muster. In the final analysis, it is up to the prime minister to protect Israel's interests and her security.
America's interests are increasingly to undermine Israel's interests and her security.

5. Is a right or left "victory" all that matters?
It seems to me that neither the "right" nor the "left" "winning" is the most important thing right now, and in that, Netanyahu is correct... Israel NEEDS a broad coalition quickly because the next battle may not be political but existential.

6. Kadima wants to be Meretz. Let them
The only notable policy goal for Livni is to duplicate the 'success' of creating a hostile armed Hamas enclave next to Kfar Saba as was done in Gaza. Shutting down Ben Gurion would be so much more satisfying than shooting Kassams into the relatively sparsely inhabited Negev communities.
Hopefully Shas and Yisrael Beiteinu are listening to this and are ready to find enough common ground to make a viable coalition. Otherwise we will be back to Tzip the zero.

7. LIVNI MISLEAD VOTERS ABOUT LAND
Livni did not inform the electorate about her plans or sympathys towards giving away land - 50% of the country for "peace".
If she had , she would not have got anywhere near the support she got. Its all BS. She's there by deception.

9. # 2 By "left of center," you mean like...
Obama!? Someone who says one thing and INTENDS to do the totally opposite. Someone who can read from a teleprompter with articulation, (a speech written by someone else other than he, by the way) but STAMMERS when asked questions because he/she does not a have a "scripted" answer to give and must actually THINK to give a responce! Is THAT what you mean by "left of center?" Someone who makes the masses believe that ONLY they have the true solutions to critical issues, when in REALITY they can't even find their backside with both hands? Is THAT what you mean by "left of center?" No thanks, Israel just needs someone with guts to stand up to those who want to make her weak, disappear from being a Nation or a puppet government to the NEW Ussa (United Socialist States of America) also known as "Bamaland." Sir may I suggest that you just forget about it and, GO BACK TO SLEEP!

Livni is really belongs to the Left 9I would call it extreme Left but that's me). Barak is to the right of Livni and Livni wants to be the leader of Meretz-Kadima.The rest of Kadima want money and perks, and nothing more. That is why they followed Olmert who is also to the left of Labor and loves MONEY.

The voice of the people has been heard and the people want an extreme right wing government with hawkish policies. Let us reserve judgement and let such a government "function" for at least a year and see where we stand then, if we are still around to do so. Who needs another "unity government" that does nothing.

advice to her will be; Tzipi keep doing what you are doing in the same way you are doing it, you are the only one (and the people around you) that are still giving Israel the face of a country that it's not totally

Misgav mocks the "dream team" including Eli Yishai and Avigdor Lieberman.
Maybe Misgav does not know this, but both were ministers in the previous Kadima government, and no one from Kadima or Labor had any problems with that.
Suddenly Misgav wakes up? Or is he being hypocritical?
|
|
|
You don't get Israeli politics.
Kadima is Leftist because it endorses ethnic cleansing of Jews as its top priority.
Labor did not endorse her because they knew she could not set up a coalition.
Meretz did not support her because she was begging Lieberman to be in her government.
The Arabs did not support her because of her support for the "Cast Lead" operation.

We are not yet out from under the Kadima regime and you forget?
10000 people had their lives destroyed by the destruction of Gush Katif, and all we got back was Hamas and Hezbolla.
In one war udner Kadima, the IDF was defeated and Israel was forced to release Samir Kuntar.
In "Cast Lead" Israel used all its tricks for nothing. Hamas is still firing rockets, and at the end Olmert will release terrorists from prison like Hamas requested before the war.
Kazav, the president of Israel, was publically humiliated as a rapist and it now turns out he was innocent.
Antisemitism and anti-Israeli feeling has risen to levels unknown since the 1930s.
And you think the Left has "strength and wisdom"?
