This is proof of the success of Islamic Banking system. In Islam, Interest is forbidden. Now the world is starting to realise the disadvantages of Interest!

First of all, I have not seen any successful country in the middle east that has a great economy, banking system if you know of any please enlighten me. Secondly, you guys do charge interest rates. When you invest in foreign countries you guys do charge to those countries interest rates. U.S. bonds, Citi-Bank, and other financial securities and banks that muslims might borrow from under the interest rates. But the problems is that U.S. would not be able to repay back so all your investments are doomed. Have a nice day!
5. How about cutting interest that banks charge
jason white ,   afula,israel   (02.23.09)
as well as credit card companies. Cut bank fees. Open up Israel to other communication and electric companies. Let us see competition that will drive down prices.
6. shouldn't they cut bank fees too in that case?
Daniela ,   Jerusalem   (02.23.09)
It seems disproportionate to me that interest rates keep being cut while bank rates keep on rising and they are charging us clients more and more for ridiculously small things that should be free.

I did not say that there IS a country in the middle east with a great economy! What I did say was the fact that Interest rates are forbidden in Islam. I said Islamic Banking...NOT Banks in Muslim countries! BIG DIFFERENCE
8. #7 That's because Muslims are stupid.
Keren ,   Israel-SP   (02.24.09)
By the way,in few years, when petrol will matter nothing and will be an archaic thing,as archaic as you all lot of muslim, arabs or both, when it happens,we will see the turning back of your camels everywhere, because you are good only for hiding camels and selling a Kafia or a chunk of Halvah here and there.G'od gave you petrol TEMPORARILY,with a purpose, but when it goes, than all will see Ishmael for what he is and Israel for what he KEEPS BEING-a progressive People and a Light into Nations.
9. Interests may be forbidden in Islam but corruption's rampant

10. Muslims must be very charitable with their banking
Genuine Tosefta ,   Tveria   (02.24.09)
How do they manage to stay in business and cover their expenses if they do not charge anything? If there are hidden forms of income through the back door it is called cheating Allah Catholics also forbid charging interest and when the church tried this within a few years it went bankrupt and allowed back the private money lenders to support the economy and make a profit in the process. But who can argue with Muslim miracles, if they swear by it, it must be true

The way you said it, was that because Islamic Banking System forbides interest rates some how it is a better way for the economy. What is the point talking about Islamic Banking System if you say it is not implemented anyway. On the contrary I think Saudi Arabia and Iran don't charge interest rates.

B"H Of course it is Judaism that forbids interest lending between Jews and zeros out debt tout cour in every seven years. Central-bank operated debt money supply is therefore anything but Jewish, it is something Israel "learned" from the nations, like having a parliament in power, and a secular and politicized supreme court, etc. There is nothing Jewish about these institutions and Jews deserve a Jewish State, not one that operates like any other nation. www.thetorahrevolution.blogspot.com

who has to pay the price of the crisis in the Jews eyes? you know it clearly; the state is Jewish and there is no place for a Christian court there.
14. #7, interest is allowed
Danny   (02.24.09)
but it has to no more than the risk. Anyway, the Islamic banks just use derivatives to get round the restriction, turning interest into an "equity return".
