2. #1 show
Tamir ,   Los Angeles   (02.24.09)
finally a show worth watching on arab television! Its like Iran's funniest home videos except if you do something deemed anti-islam or anti-ahmadinejad you lose..... your life.
3. Ahmadinejad
Jamshid ,   NY, USA   (02.24.09)
When ridiculing of Ahmadinejad, many Iranians, such as myself, refer to the President as Antarinejad, Antar in Persian means monkey. Hence, confusing Ahmadinejad with a monkey is facilitated by his appearance, demeanor, AND name.
4. How VERY true! LOL!
Ariel ,   Europe   (02.24.09)
5. Re: "Iranian girl's stuffed monkey named 'Ahmadinejad'
Herman ,   Brooklyn USA   (02.24.09)
Quickly! Where are those Norwegians throwing shoes at the little girl? I know I am quickly investing in shoe companies as I write! Where is the outrage in th estreets? Oh, wait, its ISLAMISTS (not arabs, as Iranians are not "arabs', they are "Persians", like it makes a diff), not Jews. OK, we will give her a pass....

11. If he looks like a monkey, talks like a monkey
Zohan ,   Tel Aviv   (02.24.09)
walks like a monkey; acts like a monkey, he must be a monkey. To call him a monkey is an insult to this primate. Monkeys are friendly, funny and can be domesticated while this one from Tehran is a monster
12. Stufed monkey named Ahmadinejad
Sarah ,   New York City, USA   (02.24.09)
Hope the little girl -- or her father -- doesn't hang for it .... the Islamic Republic of Iran is not shy about hanging children ...
13. Can we please stop this
Abu Ali ,   Nablus Palistine   (02.24.09)
We don't have to talk about this at all, we need to talk about the Palistinians and only about us and nothing else. I don't care about this little girl, all I care about is the most important people in the world which is the palistinians and how much the world love us and care for us and how much money they are going to send us soon
14. To: Abu Ali at No. 13
Sarah ,   New York City, USA   (02.24.09)
Wrong, on all counts. It does not always have to be about the Palestinians. While I have no doubt that you are the center of your universe, Israeli society -- and the world at large -- has been dealing with you for over sixty years, to no good effect. Contemplate the possibility -- or the likelihood, actually -- that the world is sick to death of Palestinian violence, Palestinian bad choices, Palestinian terrorism and Palestinian whining. It isn't always about you, all the time. If you don't like it, move somewhere else.
15. Narrow minded people....
(02.24.09)
I bet this made your day!
16. My son's stuffed donkey!
Marco ,   Spain   (02.24.09)
My son would not allow me to call his stuffed donkey 'Olmert', he says Olmert is too corrupt!
17. #13 Too late shipment on its way
(02.24.09)
Thousands of ahmadinejad monkey dolls for Palestinian children. From Iran with love. Boycott Mickey. Here comes Mahmoud. Caps, stickers and coffee cups to follow. Replacement for crude oil = crude leader doll.
18. #13 who's your national monkey ?
aba avi   (02.24.09)
mine is Olmert
19. If one gets past its government, Iranians are like most.
Raymond in DC ,   Washington, DC USA   (02.24.09)
I often raise my eyes when people refer to most Arabs and Muslims as "just like us", who want what's best for their families, etc. Some are, but too many are not. But I knew Iranians before the fall of the Shah. I had a Persian housemate in grad school, and visited the country in 1976. Traveling by bus to Esfahan, one young soldier approached me for help as he worked through his "Learning American" book. American, not "English". I had to chuckle inside. Not all, but most were, in fact, "just like us". 30 years of oppression under the mullahs hasn't changed that. And, by the way, US comedian Jay Leno usually refers to the Iranian President as AhmadiNUTJOB.

...he'll be getting a late-night visit from the Revolutionary Guards. That's how they used to do it in the USSR. Then they'll take him away for a few days or a few years, or forever. I am sad for Iran's people.

Joe ,   Ramat Gan   (02.24.09)
It isn't just in Iran where they hang people for comparing leaders to monkeys. Where was Al Sharpton when a certain segment of Americans called GWB "The Chimp"???
27. To: Joe at No. 26
Sarah ,   New York, USA   (02.25.09)
Yes, but in the United States it is not a capital crime. We used to have a lot of fun with Gerald Ford and Ronald Reagan, if you recall.
28. The Monkey
Stan ,   Sydney Australia   (02.25.09)
I must be dumb. Can't understand why everyone is getting worked up by calling a monkey by its name. Don't you guys out there have pet dogs and cats with names; so someone has a pet stuffed monkey with an appropriate name! C'est la vie.
