1. Spain Should Be Charged
karen US/Australia ,   Australia   (02.27.09)
If Spain thinks it has any right to charge Israel for so-called human rights violations SPAIN SHOULD BE CHARGED FOR THE INQUISITION, THE SLAUGHTER AND FORCED COVERT ION OF NATIVE AMERICANS, No big surprise they have sympathy for Faulestines since Spain has stolen other people's land through their dirty history.

Eliyahu ,   Jerusalem   (02.27.09)
How about crimes against Humanity for the Spanish Nation for the inquisition of 1492? The burning at the stake, the strangling for those who "recanted" and the expulsion under sever duress of an entire population. What chutzpa!
6. Its Non of Catholic Spains Business
Ronald ,   South Africa   (02.27.09)
The hypocritical Spanish should sort out their own home grown problems, before sticking their oily, hairy noses in other peoples business.Ask the Basque.

stude ham   (02.27.09)
so what else is new with these muslim lovin countries?
10. Spanish prove that they're kangaroos?
Joe Sittizen ,   Jerusalem   (02.27.09)
Are the Spanish trying to prove to the world that they are capable of holding a kangaroo court? Or are they too suffering from an overdose of political incorrectness? One wonders at the two-faced Spanish judge and phony NGOs who brought the suit, since they totally ignore the Palestinian war crimes that predated the Gaza incident. Even Amnesty International called a spade a spade, and one wonders if the Jew-hating is simply a new Spanish inquisition, or if they are merely dupes for the well-oiled Palestinian propaganda machine. "The attacks against civilians by Palestinian armed groups are widespread, systematic and in pursuit of an explicit policy to attack civilians. They therefore constitute crimes against humanity under international law. They may also constitute war crimes" http://www.amnesty.org/en/library/info/MDE02/003/2002
11. the king felipe has been nominated under franco
cordier   (02.27.09)
he is alos an accomplice of crimes against humanity
12. Nothing new
David ,   Montreal, Canada   (02.27.09)
Spain was the site of some of the more famous "disputations" where Jews were forced to debate their Christian overlords. This was done to humiliate the Jews and entertain the gentiles. Nothing has changed. The 4th Geneva convention does not afford civilians protection when they remain in combatants' areas--if forced, then the true war criminals are Hamas. However, you can hold your breath until you turn blue before you see a Catholic Spanish court, in a cowardly country like Spain, do anything about it.
13. Queen Isabella and King Ferdinand must be jumping for joy
Douglas Miller ,   Detroit   (02.27.09)
I wonder if Spain is going to investigate their 500 year Inquisition with the same enthusiasm. What arrogant hypocrites.
14. Do we expect anything else from the anti-Semitic Spain?
Yoni   (02.27.09)
We have a thousand year history of Spanish hatred, death and plain mayhem against Jews. It would be shear folly to believe anything has changed. Spain, England and the entire European continent just love subjugating and killing Jews. It seems it is engrained in their DNA.
15. Are you all nervous now ?? :)
(02.27.09)
16. Nazis, you mean like the Grand Mufti al-Husseini?
Jake   (02.27.09)
A Holocaust Perpetrator and Nazi Collaborator of the first order. He was released by the French after the War, and avoided Nuremberg, because he was far too popular in the Arab world and the French did not wish to risk upsetting the Arabs. Sound familiar? The Mufti went on to become one of the founders of the Arab League.
17. Watch for an Israeli "Potemkin" (Show) Trial
Arik Silverman ,   Milwaukee USA   (02.27.09)
Israel could perhaps thwart the Spanish process by starting a trial of its own, which would be for show, not for real. It will be interesting to see if that happens.
18. The states demanding that Israel adhere to certain moral ...
Robert Bernier ,   Tel Aviv   (02.27.09)
The states demanding that Israel adhere to certain moral standards do not even dream of asking the same of her enemies. Why do the countries of the world and global media outlets obsessively engage in strict criticism that is only directed at Israel? After all, there is not even one country out there that is required to adhere to the moral criteria which the world demands of us – of us of all people, the ones who as opposed to the rest of the world face threats of extermination. Israel had no choice but to attack Hamas as explained at : http://xrl.us/bea2zx
19. Why particapte in a kangaroo court by turning over papers?
Cynic ,   USA   (02.27.09)
20. #7
jb ,   Canada   (02.27.09)
You wouldn't know what justice was if it bit you in the ass. You and your ilk should be tried for crimes against stupidity! When the muslims say "jump", the Spanish say "How high, Senor?" Disgusting and disgraceful, just like you, riodejanidiot!

22. Investigations
aron ,   Detroit, Michigan   (02.27.09)
In other news, Israel will be starting its own judicial proceedings against Spain for the Inquisition and Spain's role in the Spanish-American war. Sadly , to date , Spain has not found itself liable and committed suicide.

24. ALL GAZANS SHALL TESTIFY THEY SAW THE ATTACK
MANSOUR JERUSALEM   (02.27.09)
AFTER ALL, THEY HAVE CHANCE TO GET MONEY FROM ISRAEL. I AM WILLING TO TESTIFY I SAW THE ATTACK, I LIVE IN JERUSALEM, BUT HAVE FRIENDS WHO LIVE IN GAZA I COULD BE IN GAZA AT THE TIME, SO LONG AS I HAVE A FRIEND THAT TESTIFIES I WAS THERE, NO?

israeli   (02.27.09)
commander of the millitant wing of hamas. spain knows it is either the arabs or the jews, as israel is very very small, and it decided it supports arabs who have oil and the rest of the middle east.
26. Uber weapon: human shields
Fred Tyler ,   Stony Brook USA   (02.27.09)
When the Spanish are done validating the human shield terrorist tactic, they can join the crackpot Vermont Senator's call for a so-called "truth commission" to study why former Pres. Bush authorized fighting terrorists overseas.
27. I need to file a lawsuit against this judge! He is part of .
EST ,   Miami USA   (02.27.09)
the establishment that was built upon stolen riches from my ancestors!!! He is their descendant and as such responsible for their actions!!!He is a thief!!!
28. Spanish Probe
Mike ,   Silver Spring, USA   (02.27.09)
Maybe it is time for Israel to invoke universal jurisdiction so it can try Spanish leaders for crimes against the Basque and North Africans, the French for their attacks against Serbian civilian targets, Russia for their Georgian civilian attacks, Brazil for treatment of their native Amazonian Indian population, etc.
29. Crazy
robert barrett ,   fort smith ar usa   (02.27.09)
I want someone to go before a judge in Israel to charge Spain for the millions of deaths they have caused in south america and all around the world since their beginnings. See how they feel then. Stupid fools! Israel win never be wiped out as a country ever!
30. Perhaps Israel should
Sarah ,   New York City, USA   (02.27.09)
investigate the Spanish government and military with respect to war crimes committed by Spain against the Basque freedom fighters of the ETA. Let Spain reap the wind with this tacky little demonstration of anti-Semitism (we had Spain's number long ago -- can you spell Torquemada?) and then Israel can teach Spain what it means to reap the whirlwind. The hypocritical Spaniards have mercilessly tortured and murdered almost a million Basque freedom fighters, not to mention women and children. Let's see how they feel about an investigation into Spanish war crimes. Hasta la vista, baby!
