1. Why exercise restraint
Rina   (03.01.09)
when this is what we get in return? Israel stopped short of achieving its goals, maybe as a gesture to Mr. Obama. What did we get in return? More rockets, worldwide antisemitism, and nothing from Mr. Obama. Lesson: We should do what we need to do to defend ourselves, and the he-l with world opinion.
2. Is this article a campaign for Israeli universities???

But Mr Pearl is the typical liberal Jew always talking about coexistence & mutual understanding & all the rest of the BS platitudes & slogans that obfuscate the real nature of our adversaries, be they Muslims or their looney-left allies. This phenomenon has been growing in the heart of American universities since the adoption of Prof. Edward Said's distorted views by many academics. Mr Pearl & others like him remained silent or retreated into meaningless discussions of ''dialogue'' as if dialogue with totalitarians served any purpose. Now he is alarmed but I'm sure not alarmed enough to change his liberal view-point.
4. Don't blame it on Gaza
NYC Girl   (03.01.09)
I've been reading about anti-Semitic incidents at California colleges long before Israel's war against Hamas. In fact, some of these campuses have long been hotbeds of Muslim radicalism which often manifests itself in physical violence against Jewish students or anybody who supports Israel, and, unfortunately, the police have not seen fit to respond appropriately, although we don't have to guess what the response would be on the part of the cops and the university administration if these same kinds of incidents were aimed at Muslims or even at other minority groups. So, perhaps now the only thing that will get the attention of the university's administrators is if any of the alumni who are outraged by these events immediately stop their donations and if families no longer send their kids to these schools until something is done to put an end to this insanity. After all, more than anything, colleges are a business and often the best place to hit them is in the pocketbook...although my personal preference would be for a JDL-type organization to go in there and start breaking some heads.
5. #3 It's Worse Than That
Brana Lobel ,   Israel   (03.01.09)
Many Americans do not know how to deal with the Arab/Islamic mentality and/or their leaders are blinded by greed and self interest and inability to take the long view. These are all characteristics of Americans and America, for good or bad. 1) Arab money has bought into US universities--like funding chairs--at least since the 80's and probably the 70's. This is independent or predates the flood of Arab and Islamic apologists among the academics. 2)California has by and large bought into the Muslim "oppression" story which is again on the tail of all the overthrow of European dominated rulerships in African countries in the 60s, 70s and later. I am sure this is what stymies so much of the police as the rioting Muslims are in a sense brothers who take every civil rights and psychological weapon and push it to the limit. 4) I am sorry for Mr Pearl and his family tragedy. The fact is however that his son showed poor judgment in walking into a viper's nest of terrorists to get a story. Mr Pearl senior shows equally poor judgment in not recognizing the widespread and deep nature of this problem (Arab, Muslim, MiddleEast attempts at religious/political takeover combined with perverted Left liberal ideology) in America in spite of the fact that he has direct proof through personal experience if he would only put the pieces together. 5)The fact that Ynet devotes an article to Mr Pearl's complaints (he is not exactly a spokesperson for Jews) against the years of antisemitic and anti Israel problems surfaced on the Internet by academics all over the country (and in California--Daniel Pipes was treated very rudely at Berkeley about four years ago)simply shows how superficial the minds of the Ynet editors and their limited grasp of (even recent) history. 5) UCLA is a state school and the state can certainly do something about it...someone needs to start an email and online campaign there as Californians are very good at that. Maybe someone has already.

Michael, don't you believe that these things are happening in your unis in America? They are. But as you have brought up the subject then I reckon you have a good idea. There are many Degree courses in Israel that you can do in English and they give you American credits. I know a lot of American and British Jews who are at Uni and suffering the most terrible anti-Semitism and day to day tension. How can they study in this atmosphere? I say, better to come to Israel. Come to Israel and study your chosen subject in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere and enjoy what the country has to offer.

10. Change The Tactics, Then The Calculus Will Change
Adina Kutnicki ,   Israel, new olah   (03.01.09)
It is imperative that the Jewish students and faculty become bolder in their responses/tactics than they have been in the past. NO amount of kumbaya tactics, seminars, lectures etc is going to change the calculus. Truth be told, unless and until the Jews are able to live up to their 'warmongering' status they will remain threatened. BOLD, in your face tactics are the orders of the day. It is long overdue to cease being polite, understanding of the others side, and therefore afraid. Everything that I call for others to do I have told to my own two sons - NEVER be afraid to be bold. NEVER.

won't know until it is too late. This anti-Semitism in the US has been slowly and steadily escalating since the Reagan era, the so called conservative revolution and the exponential increase in religiosity in Xitian America. let's just "face it" there is an extreme revulsion with anything Semitic and this anti-Semitism is seeded and perpetuated by the reemergence and reformation of christian identity, british israelism and positive christianity theological paradigm in the form of modern evangelicalism and dominionist movements. For "cryin out loud" the biggest problem these guys have with President Obama is his middle name "Hussein" which they believe is some sort of prophetic evidence of an antecedent to their mephistopheles-jesus deity. Oh well even President Obama has been forced for "political reasons" to appoint adherents to Neo-Conservatism (which are the secular intelligentsia of the Dominionist); latest example (Charles "Chas" Freemen). The plan is simple; and, if a person can't see it then they are blind. Retain key geographic strategic locations while simultaneously and continuously exerting geopolitical pressure through covert financial institutions to subjugate the barbarous and atavistic Semitic peoples and usher in their premillennial kingdom of peace and enlightenment. This concept even appeals to me but I simply know it will result in nothing more than forced consumption of the media proffered by their tele-evangelist media outlets. PUKE!!!

where u say you are, and even if you are one of those Xitian Israelis living up in Ein Kerem or a member of a conspiratorial Xitian cenacle; even you must know "we don't have an earth-pig to pray to or forgive our trespasses" we don't brandish and covet firearms like the Xitian Nazis do. A "baseball bat" as you say will do little good in the most armed society on Earth.
17. Why not make use of the 2nd Amendment?
Alex ,   Haifa, Israel   (03.01.09)
One of the truly great things about America is the right to keep and bear arms. But the Jews ,being the idiot liberals they are, shun it.
18. Not always that easy
Samael ,   California   (03.02.09)
Lawrence: you're right. But the American Jewish leadership is a bunch of pathetic old men who don't know the meaning of the word "force". And a lot of college administrators have no problem punishing Jewish students for hitting back. Between being raised to turn the other cheek and fearing for their own futures, most Jewish students are not the kick-ass types they need to be. Wish I could say the same for Team Jihad...
19. Anti-semitism
Rina ,   Israel   (03.02.09)
1) Jews have only one home - Israel. 2) From what I've read the late Daniel Pearl's little son is not being raised Jewish. His mother is a Buddhist.
20. #12-Anti-Semitism Rise on US Campuses
Christy ,   Boston, US   (03.02.09)
You state: "This anti-Semitism in the US has been slowly and steadily escalating since the Reagan era, the so called conservative revolution and the exponential increase in religiosity in Xitian America." I have witnessed: 1. Within Conservative US Churches - actually all US Churches who believe the Bible is G-d's Inerrant Word ... there has been a rise in the love of Israel & Jews. Interest in the Jewish roots of Christianity just keeps growing, as does a positive interest & concern for Israel and Jews. From the conservative & 'Bible believing' churches comes a voting bloc that demands the US to stand by Israel. These Christian groups have been dismayed to see parts of Israel given up for any reason. They've been dismayed to see anything forced on Israel that will weaken Israel. This group of Christians is comprised politically of Democrats, Republicans & Independants... NOT just conservatives. 2. Within lefty US Churches and all churches who don't believe that ALL of the Bible is the Inerrant Word of G-d... there has been a rise of anti-Israel sentiment. Some of these churches have tried to institute boycotts against Israel because they have joined the world in the 'Blame Israel For Everything' groups. Blaming Israel is tied in with blaming the US. Kind of goes back and forth. This group of Christians is comprised politically of Democrats and other left-leaning political group. You'll find the lefty church groups align with others who also blame Israel for everything, including US liberal/lefty Jews.
21. #18 - turn the other cheek?
AY_Lamb ,   USA   (03.02.09)
That is a New Testament adage and has no meaning. The problem for Jews reciprocating with violence is found in the Talmud and the sense of individual responsibility for making the whole better (this sense of civic responsibility and accountability). How long ago was it that Tzadek Liviu Librescu N"E forfeit his life for his students defending them from a crazed gun man at Virginia Tech that believed he was the "reincarnation of Jesus"?
22. #20 - Christy Boston let's examine your words
AY_Lamb ,   USA   (03.02.09)
I have witnessed (word choice - xitian soteriology): 1. Within Conservative (word choice - conservatism in US doesn't abide a separation of church and state see xitian identity movement or positive christianity in nazi Germany or british israelism) US Churches - actually all US Churches who believe the Bible is G-d's Inerrant (word choice - infallibility Dogma like the Westboro Baptists have discovered by accepting a clearly flawed NT this only leads to the irrefutable and inevitable realization that the supersessionist displacement theologies of xitianity and Islam are inherently anti-Semitic ) Word ... there has been a rise in the love (word choice – Love as described in Holy Torah “that which you refer to as euphemistically and derogatorily as “old testament” describes love as a condition of giving more than receiving not consuming and taking the supersessionist covet their distorted and erroneous interpretation of “chosen people” they apply this as a moniker of ascension that their roman sequel text states as an appellation of their “infallible revealed word”) of Israel & Jews. Interest in the Jewish roots (word choice – “roots” implies something that is necessary but isn’t acme or pinnacle i.e. the flower is consequence of the fertile root; the root is lesser) of Christianity just keeps growing, as does a positive interest & concern for Israel and Jews. 2. I am in the US Army I have endured years of discrimination and proselytizing and albeit annoying I have always dealt with his mandatory xitian compulsion for “witnessing” with patience and understanding. The situation of Xitian Homogeneity in the US Armed Forces reached a an intolerable culmination for me when I attended the Phoenix Academy in Taji Iraq in 2008 – at this academy: Field Grade commanders and credentialed academic proctors instruct a syllabus that is predicated on statements of a necessity to subdue and force conformity on a violent and atavistic “Jewish” state and they describe this necessity in overtly xitian religious terms that the contemptuous, perfidious, racist, non-democratic and apartheid like regime is Tel Aviv and Jerusalem has existed as rogue regime since the “Nakba”. 3. The Supersession beliefs are replete with kindness and piety but, that is only exceeded by their cruelty and malice. 4. I state categorically that the sequels to the Emmunim Yehudim (Islam and Xitianity) are wholly and completely unnecessary and are therefore anathema to Judaism. 5. So put out the word in all Xitian temples don’t harm the innocent like Mar Pearle - I am “the real deal” direct your malice to me. Please.
23. Anti-semitism
MB ,   Israel   (03.02.09)
I was an employee in a very large business place in the States. Because my name doesn't sound Jewish, people who did not know me well did not know that I am Jewish and felt free to express their true opinions of Jews in my presence. You would be shocked how many people dislike Jews in the US. I heard plenty of anti-semitic remarks. I am so happy that I moved to Israel where I am among my own people. Sure, not everyone likes everyone else here, but if they don't like you, it's not because you're Jewish!
24. it is simple mathematics at this point in time
AY_Lamb ,   USA   (03.02.09)
The supersession beliefs have become coincidentally enthralled and entangled in a "vying competition" for earthly and ethereal dominion, recognition and realization. The consequence for the Mattae Yehudit is simple a nexus, a coalescence, a paradigm of contribution, support and acceptance of a non-secular Jewish State is necessary at this specific moment in time, this will serve as a catalyst for self defense and survival.
25. #23 - MB Toda Raba - extremely inspiring
AY_Lamb ,   USA   (03.02.09)
TB - Even I admit that the sacred christian text is inherently antisemitic. And it is quite natural for loyal devout believers to exhibit some antisemitism and that truly doesn't bother me because I am not misanthropic I understand and appreciate these things are part o the human condition. What I do wholly believe true and empirical based upon observables is the American academic and leadership casts cannot separate or differentiate social interactions between secular and non-secular. These are individuals that command great power whose actions directly result in the giving and taking of life. So as this natural inclination towards antisemitism is integrated into the decision making cycle the resultant parameters are troubling. Antisemitism is protean in it's nature and as "times" become more challenging so does the protean contentiousness grow. Still though I am extremely gratified you found some relief or do I dare say "Yeshua" from the adversity. K"H
26. #17 you are right
Al   (03.02.09)
The Jews in America are too damn stupid to see the forest for the trees. In short they will end up getting it in the ass. They voted for Obama and they will cry the blues in very short order. They have written their own death warrants.
27. Christianity=nazism, islam ?? AY_Lamb
uclachic ,   LA, USA   (03.02.09)
Equating things that are untrue is perpetuating lies just like our Muslim friends that pose their religion to be tolerant and all embracing. Christendom cannot be a root of anti-Semitism in America for very simple reasons. Of course certain "Christian" religious leaders collaborated with Nazis for their own gain, as did certain Jews, does this make Judaism a proponent of the Holocaust? Nazism crushed anything that dared elevate importance/loyalty above their authority and any Christian that followed their religious duties like Corrie Ten Boom or Dietrich Bonhoeffer was killed by them. To equate Christianity with Islam makes your claims further preposterous as Islam demands subjugation and second class treatment at best of non-Muslims while Christianity demands equal treatment of all and even equates hatred with murder while calling Christians to serve all people without regard to their religion. How many organizations do you see in the name of other religions helping people outside their own religion? As a child of Christians living in Muslim countries I am not naive about these things like most Americans...
28. #21 - Conundrum
Samael ,   California   (03.02.09)
You're correct that civic responsibility is a primary Jewish value that American Jews are raised with, but in the end it amounts to turn the other cheek. If Jews on campus are under attack and report the problem to the administration (showing civic responsibility), there are two problems: 1) The violence has still been inflicted, and 2) If the Jews try to defend themselves, they are often held responsible by the administration for aggression themselves (even if it is pure self-defense). That is the conundrum: following "civic responsibility" is not an adequate response, yet reciprocal violence is impossible,
29. #27 - Please take a moment and read my TB
AY_Lamb ,   USA   (03.03.09)
I am NOT nor have I ever equated christianity to the National Socialist Movement or Islam. I have shown their shared attributes and mutual contingents. Please exam architecture in Europe Notre Dame Cathedral, the Gates of Remagen etc. etc. the prominent depiction of the Juden Sow. Exam literature of William Shakespeare "Merchant of Venice" the caricatures of the Rothschilds, The International Jew Deer Borne Press, The protocols of the learned elders of Zion. This is ridiculous and academic, there are so many examples of ethnic and religious intolerance it defies comprehension that Xitians would obfuscate. It is actually quite simple Islam and Christianity are based upon an evolution of Hebraic covenant concept, they are both considered ineffable and infallible by their adherents and practitioners, they are both gateway theologies to the sublime ethereal afterlife - Religion isn't even stated it the Holy Torah, Those that know Torah are subject to judgment based upon their deeds in their lives (i.e. christians and muslims) Judaism and all its material are based upon sacred tenets, focused on life, community, unity, people and the "One HaShem" "Adon Ha Olam" The supersession displacement dogmas are doctrinally compelled to "harvest souls" for the realization of their perennial, perpetual and eternal afterlife concepts. In "MY OPINION" these theologies are sequels to a belief that requires NONE and they are premised on what I believe is incredulous, spurious and suspect prognostications of theologians that deify certain or specific persons or groups of persons. I reject both as false and believe that the only thing that equals there piety, goodwill and acumen is their cruelty, intolerance and desire to consume. There it is my OPINION sue me or better yet come kick my ass I grow weary of trying to explain “that which should be obvious”
30. #28 – Anyone that follows Torah and Abides by
AY_Lamb ,   USA   (03.03.09)
The Holy Talmud knows that at the most fundamental level life is sacrosanct. You cannot take your own life nor can anyone else take your life, you can and must defend yourself. I only mentioned the subtle nuisance in terminology “turn the other cheek” because I enjoy emphasizing all unnecessary, redundant or blatant errors proffered by the supersession dogmas. No Xitian has ever turned the other cheek with the exception of their nubile, mythical, jesus, easter bunny so adored by the virile verily sundered Mel Gibson.
