1. How about NO!
Jewish Refugee ,   U.S.A.   (03.04.09)
Judea and Samaria is under the occupation of Arabs that call themselves palestinians. Gaza is a hostile region that should be dealt with the sooner the better. Israel is small enough already we acquire lands not give them away. Plus Jews around the world have the right to decide too. NO MORE LAND SURRENDER!
2. I completely agree. cancel Palestine. Create Peace.
David ,   Boston, USA   (03.04.09)
This makes sense to everyone except those who dont want peace, or those wacko Eurabians who just want everyone to suffer.
3. How to Describe All Solutions
Dovy ,   Toronto   (03.04.09)
PURE PSYCHOTIC FANTASY. Only by dismantling the ethnocratic apartheid regime will there be peace. Jewish State my foot......!!
4. Where is the people's voice, Mr. Eiland?
Faraz ,   Meldreth, UK   (03.04.09)
I find it slightly arrogant that other states are being called upon to debate the future of the Palestinians. The most viable solution to the problem would only be gained by placing before the people a number of choices in a plebiscite. Let them determine what is best for them.
5. Good Ideas But No Support
AG ,   Tel Aviv, Israel   (03.04.09)
This is not the first time you've presented these worthwhile ideas, but I have yet to hear a strategy for gaining support for them from Israel's political parties.
6. What probably will happens
Dude   (03.04.09)
Actual situation will endure 30 years more. Cause that Israel must strength its moral, military capabilities and continuing populate the land. This "game" is about who resist more.
7. In essence, you want to bribe the Egyptians and Jordanians
Haile Gebreselassie   (03.04.09)
to accept almost the exact status quo Israel undued in 1967... yeah, your solution is BRILLIANT! Give me a break...
8. yeh let the people decide: good idea Faraz
Hani ,   USA   (03.04.09)
Let the Palestinians and Israelis goes to polls and decide what state they want to live in. I think the majority will agree with a one state solution.
9. God Giora, you are so out to lunch!
Wayne ,   London, Canada   (03.04.09)
What’s the color of the sky in your world? There is only one solution – one state where Israelis and Palestinians create a model nation to rule the MENA region over the next 100 years.
10. No two state solution...followed by a two state solution?
bjl ,   us   (03.04.09)
Huh? No palestinian state period. There are 22 Arab countries....the land of Israel isnt big enough for two peoples and Israel has THE claim to The Land.
11. The most likely future is the status quo
Sam ,   Canada   (03.04.09)
There is no agreement over any possible solution and the way the parties are disagreeing there is not likely to be one. If the Palestinians want the land they will have to come get it and they will be repulsed. Compromise doesn't exist in the Palestinian vocabulary.
12. Let me quote this:
Kenenisa Bekele   (03.04.09)
"They [Palestinians] prefer a Jordanian rule to Hamas rule..." Since when did Palestinians = Israelis? Best solution: undue 1948. FREE PALESTINE!!! [here comes a zealot yelling "am yisroel chai" at me... tell that to your mother]
13. one problem --it would end back in the 1930's
avramele   (03.04.09)
no palestinnian interlocutor would discuss it and the Americans will not abandon their committment to a two state solution... this is one more ploy by the ostrich right to avoid the reality of hard compromises. the problem is that time is not on our side as Bibi slithers to the other alternative - a one state solution and a civil war.
14. #4: because the last time they had a choice they chose Hamas
Daniel ,   Formerly Israel   (03.04.09)
15. I love to word Apartheid too Dovy, wanna tlak about it?
Daniel ,   Formerly Israel   (03.04.09)
Don't you just love the word Apartheid,? I think it's wonderful, it's one of a few select words, like fascist, racist, Nazi, that you can throw at nations to implicitly accuse them of the worst things without actually having to support your claim. Usually doing so would be called libel, but with words like apartheid you don't actually have that problem. However, if we are to have a legitimate disbussion on this forum, we are going to have to use terms according to their actual meanings; I mean I can call what I'm using to type this message a space-shp, and it will be fun, especially if I don't know what a space-ship is, but it will also be silly: So Here is what Apartheid is: It is the enactment of laws that separate the poeple of a single state within the socio-economic sphere based purely on their race, and denies one of the races a democratic voice in the government HERE IS WHAT APARTHEID IS NOT it is not a situation in which two people of the same race, for example two SEMITIC peoples, are at war. It is not a situation in which one of these nations, having lost its own state in an attempt to destroy the state of the other, finds itself conquered by the nation it had tried to destroy. IT is also not a situation in which this conquered nation having been granted partial autonomy which they did nothing to earn, continues to attempt to kill members of the conquering nation, driving their own economy into ruin because they use their children as suicide bombers and human shields rather than sending them to schools, which are built for them at foreign expense, and which they also use as military bases. It is furthermore not a situation in which the conquering nation undertakes measures to separate its members from those of the other nation (a separation based entirely on ideology since no racial deference between the two nations exists at all) in order to keep the members of its nation safe while still continuing to asist the hostile nation economically. And finally it is not apartheid when the conquering nation undertakes this method of self-defemse, which still leaves its citizens vulnerable to a large extent, only because they find the much more effective method of expelling the hostile nation from the conquered territory morally reprehensible.
16. Hopefully Bibi and Lieberman will promote these alternatives
redbourn ,   tel aviv   (03.04.09)
17. Question for Giora Eiland
Elad Lending ,   Yahel, Israel   (03.04.09)
How would the land bridge between Egypt and Jordan work? (Right now as you know they have only a ferry from somewhere south of Taba.) Where exactly? Would someone driving south to Eilat have to leave and reenter Israel? That would be a deal-breaker. It would have to be some sort of tunnel - something that would obviate the need for crossing a border with all the hassle that entails. Interesting idea.
18. The chance is for No-state solution
hamuda ,   Gaza   (03.04.09)
This is the conclusion of this article. Nothing can exist on this land.
19. One state
Ridha ,   Tunisia   (03.04.09)
I am not able to understand why shall we divide Palestine into 2 parts?I believe that partition of 1947 is a historical error that must be corrected.Let s create binational democratic secular state and let s live in peace and let s(Arabs and Jews) start a new era of cooperation far away from racism and useless wars.
20. One State Solution
Oved Hazadok ,   Jerusalem   (03.04.09)
It is good to try and find other new creative solutions because I am convinced that the two state solution is almost impossible because of the settlements inside the Palestinian occupied territories and because of the separation wall.. Therefore, why don't we speak about the ONE-STATE SOLUTION = one state for two people and three religions open to everybody in which Jerusalem would become the International Religious Capital of the world?
21. sorry sr.
sesaam ,   jerusalem   (03.04.09)
you know nothing abouthistory about palastinians about jordan and about egypt and serya . sr. iam sorry the time is not like before 60 years .uk and america is not the same also as before 60 years so look for justice to people on this land not the jews only alover the world i know that most of the jews came tothis land for better opurtunities but palastinians leave this land by force and by hard rules from israil not the un it is the fact
22. Just think
Psalms83 ,   selah   (03.04.09)
in a few short years ezekiel chapters 36 thru 40 and it will be settled
23. and the answer is
Ali ,   Cleveland   (03.04.09)
NO ,if you want peace between those 2 people . Facts on the ground doesn't impress us and doesn't change the equation . we are talking here about a VIABLE palestinian state . we will have ,like it or not ,.. we are not the american indians ,1.5 billion muslims claim that part of the world ...very strongly . your 12 millions is looking more and more like a colt .
24. whaaaa!!!???Tzipi & Hillary are wrong!!!???
Dr. Dave ,   NYC   (03.04.09)
Say it ain't so Giora...SAY IT AIN'T SOOOO!!!!
25. Eradicate the disease
Doctor ,   Los Angeles   (03.04.09)
Whatever disease you may imagine an individual may have, doctors would want to eliminate it. They first try conservative methods. But if nothing else works, they will have to do what no one likes in order to save the patient. The world powers are the doctors Israel is the patient The enemies within are the disease These enemies must be eradicated -any means you can find. I suggest - now rather than later. Otherwise the patient gets to be sicker and the disease will spread. Not all doctors are smart
26. There is NO solution, only containment options.
bob kirk ,   los angeles, usa   (03.04.09)
Giora Eiland, former head of Israel's National Security Council, proposes a seemingly creative option: no two-state solution but an enlarged Gaza, a Jordanian-Palestinian federation and an Egyptian-Jordanian corridor north of Eilat. Although Eiland is right about the Palestinians wanting Israel destroyed and not a two-state solution, they do not want to be a part of Jordan because it will limit their ability to attack Israel and it will take away all the attention they have been getting for 40+ years. The best solution would be for the world to ignore the Palestinians and to tell them that their problems are not very important. International aid should end and they should be forced to support themselves. Instead, for all of their terror the Palestinians have been given billions of $ and are due to get more billions for firing 10,000 kassam rockets into Israeli towns over the past 8 years. Worldwide attention has allowed the Palestinians to delude themselves about their importance and hence they are in no hurry to give up the aid and this unending attention. Unfortunately however supporting the Palestinians is the only way for Westerners to be anti-Jewish and it provides the Moslem world with the perfect outlet for their anti-Jewish hatred. No solutions for Israel except to keep on defending itself against all odds.
27. is this an article or a joke?
mohammed ,   east jerusalem   (03.04.09)
first of all it is good that some of the palestinians agreed for the 2 states solution, second everything is based on law and resalutions so dont be silly plz!!
28. # 3 NK venom
Sagi ,   Israel   (03.04.09)
29. #9 ethnic unity government
David ,   Portland, USA   (03.04.09)
Ideally the Palestinians and Israelis rule together as one nation, however the extremist elements who do not support peace from both sides of all three religions will interfere and make it impossible for peace, let alone actual democratic unification. Remember war is profitable for those making in control of the hardware, the rest of us 99% are our losers as is very apparent right now.
30. Ali
aline ,   israel   (03.04.09)
