The Israeli ambassador requesting to e replaced must at the outset be complimented on his couragous act.He knows that the new administration wants a new lne of diplomacy and not the lefest defeatest ideas.He will at least be remembered as a honest diplomate with principals.

Meridor is an eloquent spokes person and a very refined person who has done an excellent job representing Israel to Americans. During the Gaza operation, it was Meridor's calm and distinguished explanations that should have been the ONLY voice giving Israel's position. Instead, several other people blundered their way through soundbites sounding just awful--including that woman who spoke for the IDF. Sorry, but in the future Israel needs to figure out that what every country knows (and in fact, so does Hamas) that speaking smoothly makes people WANT to believe you.

Didn't we see a story yesterday that Meridor was kicked out of a meeting with Clinton? The reason given was that each side agreed to have only 3 in the meeting, and Israel's other people were more necessary than Meridor. But could it be that Meridor was kicked out of the meeting because it was known that he wanted to resign? Or could it be that he is resigning because he was kicked out of the meeting?
