Well, Israel has a Death Penalty - courtesy of our enlightened British Mndate Occupation. The death Penaly is ALWAYS commuted to "life" etc. Problem is that that "Life" sentence is not really for "Life" as they are usually released in despicable "deals" with arch terrorist leaders. Few months back a similar incident happens to a boy driving his BMW crashing near the Old City's Jaffa gate and he was shot, and most people believe this was a traffic accident.
