1. thank you, italy
(03.05.09)
human rights is what westerners like us and israel has, not what the arab countries have collectively.
2. Italy would do not see eye-to-eye on most issues
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (03.05.09)
But at least you are honest in your opposition to our policies. I too thank you. Maybe there should be standards for UN membership in the field of human rights. If there were no Arab country would be allowed in.
3. Great! Italy not afraid to show it has big balls
(03.05.09)

The Berlusconi governement is definitively on eof the rare EU governement who understands the basic needs to unite the western world against the threats caused by radical islamism. Our warmest support to this greta leader ansd also to Mr Fini who did a lot to unite the italian right toegether with Israel

8. Viva Italia!
Eyal ,   Jerusalem   (03.05.09)
A country that knows the difference between real racism and crimes against humanity (see Sudan, member of the Arab League), and the lies and falsehoods of the Arab and Muslim states that are organizing this hate-filled "anti-racism" conference.

The Doc ,   Haifa, Israel   (03.05.09)
A few days ago I argued that Italy may cave in to the racist Arab pressure and following Anarchists and Muslim local violence. Italy may have actually have changed its "traditional" shameful behavior from WWII onwards! I am so glad that I was wrong!

13. Viva la bella paese.
Jake   (03.05.09)
As usual, the Renaissance starts in Italy. Perhaps even now, as Eurabia, subject to the whims of Islamofascism, slips into a new Dark Ages, Italy will be the beacon of civilization shining in the darkness of medieval ignorance and barbarism.
14. Gee, #2, What do you mean?
Jake   (03.05.09)
Italy is boycotting Durban II BECAUSE it is anti-Israel. Italy is not sending its foreign minister to Iran DESPITE urging by Western governments. I hope you realize that in this Machiavellian world of "nations have only interests, never friends", Italy profits nothing and only stands to lose by these decisions. It has important business and petroleum interests in Iran which are now in jeopardy. It will be chastized by the EU for breaking with EU foreign policy guidelines. It will be denounced by the 3rd World at Durban II for taking the side of "Apartheid Israel". We are accustomed to the slogan that the "world is against us", but here is an example where a country, which is not a mighty superpower, has come to our defense in the hour of need, without the incentive of profit or special interest, and we need to acknowledge it.
15. Kol HaKavod To Home Of Sofia Loren!
Brana Lobel ,   Israel   (03.05.09)
16. Well done, Italy. Orianna would be proud.
Raymond in DC ,   Washington, DC USA   (03.05.09)
One writer recently asked, "What if they threw an anti-Israel, anti-Semitic fest and nobody came?" So far, Canada, Israel, the US and Italy have said they will not attend. Too few, but it's a start. This is what some would call a moment of truth, the time to take a stand. Shame on any nation that thinks this is a tough call. Durban II must be discredited, and that will only happen if few show up.
17. Forza la bella Italia! Amo Italia!
pace ,   di mondo   (03.05.09)

This is a clear message to this bunch of islamofascists: ITALY STANDS WITH ISRAEL, ITALY STANDS WITH FREEDOM. Well done, Italy, country of freedom and culture.

22. Jake #14 fat fingered typing in the issue
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (03.05.09)
What I meant was that I appreciate what Italy did. We do not always agree on the issues, but at least Italy looks at every issue honestly.
23. Viva Italia
Douglas Miller ,   Detroit, USA   (03.05.09)
May G-d bless Italy and the Italian people. It's comforting to know that there is still some sanity and decency left in Europe. Now if Pope Benedict said publicly that it would be a shanda to attend the hatefest at Durbin II how many more countries would pull out? Hopefully he will and the democracies of the world will follow suit.
24. #12
Knightarm ,   new york city USA   (03.05.09)
My concern for the longest time has been that you and your "Palestinian" countrymen would try to take out your viciousness on the international players by doing a "Munich" on them. Let's hope none of you ever watches any international athletes anywhere, especially not by being at the games. Have a great life and may your great grand children long for a Palestinian state.
25. GOD BLESS ITALY AND THEIR LEADER,THANK YOU

27. "Hitler Should Have Finished The Job"
Xavier   (03.06.09)
This was one of the sentiments expressed on signs people were carrying at the Durban hatefest in 2001, which was surely the most racist "anti-racism conference" in history. Obviously, every civilized nation should boycott a repeat performance of this repugnant Nazi rally. I too congratulate Italy for her bravery and good sense, but what about all the other modern nations? Why would they be a party to this self-serving orgy of Islamist hatred? Perhaps they are either too scared, or too biased against Jews themselves, to do the right thing and boycott this unholy hatefest.
28. THANK YOU ITALY....
Simha ,   Toronto, CANADA   (03.06.09)
I KNOW WHERE I AM GOING TO BE IN MY NEXT HOLIDAY TRIP..... TO VENEZIA, MURANO, PIAZZA SAN MARCO... CAN'T WAIT
