1. I agree
Jewish Refugee ,   U.S.A.   (03.06.09)
Where you want me to go to? Where you want me to work at? I have been in Israel and its a great country. But the people in the South are still under the rocket attacks. Even before the economic crisis hit Israel's economy was not doing well. You have mentioned stunning 29,000 per capita which is great but I have not seen the wealth on the other hand the poverty level is high. Jews don't like Jews. Oh you are Ethiopian your not a real Jew, or you are Russian you are not a real Jew. It is so funny in Russia we are Jews, but in Israel we are Russians. When this will end perhaps we could come and feel like we are at home.
2. Can Jews live in Eurabia?
Smith   (03.06.09)
yes, as dhimmi...
3. Muslim Presence
Rico ,   Somewhere   (03.06.09)
"What kind of future do you have in this continent, which is becoming increasingly Muslim?" Why the continent Israel is on lacks muslims, right? Yeah, you stopped making sense past the title.
4. We will come when Israel has REAL LEADERS
Dr. Dave ,   NYC   (03.06.09)
Imagine moving to an Israel with Tzipi Livni at the helm ready to carve Israel up into tiny easy to destroy pieces. It will take a decade or two alone to restore what she & Olmert did in 4 years. 30 years at best to reverse the Clinton/Arafat/Rabin disaster. Until then ....the US is the safest place for Jews...and that is limited to a few major cities at best.
5. You never heard of Jews persecuted in Malaysia ?
ben ,   singapore   (03.06.09)
6. "European countries, including Turkey", LOL
Jake   (03.06.09)
That's a good one. Enough of this charade. Turkey (Asia Minor) and Turks are Asiatic and part of the Moslem world, and everything else is a mask. If Turkey is European, then Israel is Scandinavian.
7. can jews live anywhere
Jalal ,   Gaza   (03.06.09)
8. the most beautiful
(03.06.09)
article and call for world jewery i have ever read. mr. bechor. you are so very right. let europe disappear with the muslim community overpowering it. they will come begging us to save them one day. but we'll close the doors for them as they closed it for us.
9. articles like this make me wonder why i even read ynet
sarah ,   tel aviv   (03.06.09)
absolutely absurd.
10. In Europe, the Solution is a Final One.
Mark ,   Boston   (03.06.09)
Jews are being violenty attacked and live in constant fear. In the streets, people shout "Hamas, Hamas, Jews to the gas".
11. The EU likes Jews in ovens!
Mark ,   Boston   (03.06.09)
Prince Harry dressed up in a Nazi costume. People blame the Jews for 9/11 and 7/7. People shout "Death to the Jews". A French Jew was tortured to death because he was Jewish. The future of Jews in Europe is death.
12. Astonishing article
Marlene N. ,   New York City   (03.06.09)
Jews are not second-class citizens in Europe, but I must wonder where this author even has the audacity to speak about Jews allegedly being second-class citizens in Europe while non-Jews in Israel (the indigenous people of the land) are second class citizens except the supremacy is not Aryan. The only thing that Israel cares about is drawing Jews to Israel using any excuse it can, even if it has to manufacture anti-semitism in order to achieve its goals. And make no mistake about it...as long as Israel continues to carry out its crimes against humanity and insists on representing itself as a State of the Jews, which applies to all Jews worldwide, then Jews will continue to be hated worldwide. I personally think Israel goes out of its way to create hatred so it can get Jewish immigration which it desperately needs.
13. "Today we have a state"
Jacob ,   Berlin   (03.06.09)
And in that state Jews are regularly run over by tractors or blown up by suicide bombers or hit by rockets or killed in pointless military operations which achieve nothing. With all due respect, Israel is probably the least safe place for a Jew to live out of all the world's first-world countries.
14. There is still hope in Europe, look at Italy's move today.
Matt C ,   Canada   (03.06.09)
Anyway, it is short-sighted to assume that Jews in Europe can simply move to Israel to escape Islamic supremacism. That might work in the short term, but eventually the Islamists would take over Europe completely if such trends were to continue and then they would control Europe's UN vetoes, nuclear weapons, economies and technology. Furthermore, it is likely that if Europe were to be taken over by Islamists that America would eventually fall under their influence as well. How could Israel survive under such circumstances? The prospect of an Islamist take-over of Europe is not only a threat to European Jews but also a threat to Israel. France under the control of the mullahs would be far worse of a threat than Iran. This is why we should look to hopeful developments that could prevent that, like what Italy is doing today.
15. Funny Thing is
GHook93 - US Jew ,   Chicago   (03.06.09)
The White Europeans are feeling the same pressure from the Muslims that the Jews are feeling. The Left have an unholy alliance that will soon turn on them. The Left and the Muslims ultimately represent too many differing interest, goals and purposes! The Europe left should real reexamine their alliance with Islamists!
16. It is your own fault....
Matt ,   US   (03.06.09)
...you have no one to blame but yourselves. Your actions against the Palestinans and disregard for their human rights is no different than what Europe is doing to you. You claim that you don't need the international community and can give a damn what they think. Well then, what is need for this article? If you don't care, then don't write this article and don't complain about it. You only hear this from Jews/Israelis. There is no other race/religion that claims dicrimination as much as you. The world does not hate you or your religion. The world hates your actions and arrogance towards every other race/religion. Want proof? Just look at the talkbacks in other news and opinions articles. The hate their speaks for itself. I'm sure Ynet will not post this. But it is worth saying. And if they do, I am sure I will be labeled racist and anti-semetic. I am neither. I just call 'em like I see em.
17. Jews in Europe?
Thomas ,   Hungary   (03.06.09)
Having inundated by an endless self-flagellation and self-hate by the leftis Kapo Jews who own the media and the Academia, the Haaretz type lowlifes - paid by their EU masters- this article is a refreshing, decent summary of the real life in the EU.
18. Nonsense
Ussishkin ,   Tel Aviv   (03.06.09)
In yet another example of ynet's willingness to give platforms to triumphalist nonsense, Bechor talks rubbish. He epitomises the Israeli ignorance of diaspora and especially European diaspora. But he has one vague point. Whenever some Israeli leader looking for election point scoring or some paltry footnote in history goes off on one and wipes out 100's of innocent Palestinians, does he ever think about the ramifications for diaspora Jews? Hardly. It is past time that Israelis woke up to the realities of life in the diaspora and stopped thinking that it was just about a money train pouring diaspora cash into Israel whenever the chips are down for Israel. As to anti-semitism and racism - Herzl was wrong. He thought getting the Jews out of the way of it would stop it. It hasn't stopped. And he thought that an Israel would represent the best Jewish values. Wrong again. We're as good a bunch of racists as anyone can tell you and Liebermann is all the proof we and the rest of the world need.
19. But Israelis don't want us either!
Gabriel ,   Budapest, Hungary   (03.06.09)
The gap between many Israelis and olim, the lack of "enthusiasm" over aliyah is due to the unwelcoming Israeli society. We are in Europe second class citizens, right... but we would be the same in Israel too. Sabreh people are not happy at all to give us good jobs, only low paid ones. Even if somebody speaks Hebrew, a foreign accent can be a reason for being discriminated. Being free as Jews sounds nice but being second class Jews in Israel sounds worst to people who like Israel and may be willing to relocate.
20. Can non Muslim who are not Jewish live in Europe?
Instigator ,   The Netherlands   (03.06.09)
Yes the Jews are the foremost target of Muslims in Europe as a tiny group. But there are more and more urban areas in Europe where aboriginal Europeans (non Muslims who are not Jewish) in Europe cannot live? As long as there is no resistance coming from the european aboriginals against the muslim hate there is no solution to this problem. We will be burqanized.
21. not many jews are rich as you think, guy. even in europe
but they r educated   (03.06.09)
22. you are wrong - running away is not the answer
rg ,   Jerusalem   (03.06.09)
You are wrong to suggest that leaving europe is the solution. Anti-semitism tends to be strongest in areas with the fewest jewish people. And israeli society is a little too rought around the edges for western jews. There are many people in europe who support their local jewish communities - dont let a small violent minority scare you away from your birthplace and your homeland in western europe. Running away is not the answer
23. 99% would rather go to USA, Canada, or Australia.
Brian ,   NYC USA   (03.06.09)
Because despite the aggregate wealth, the standard of living and the salaries for educated people are NOT anywhere near what you'd find in other Western countries where Jews live quite happily. ...Not to mention the abysmal schools producing the world's most ignorant Jews, that crude culture and the way that most native Israelis behave. Yuck. What Jew--a product of a heritage of education-at-all-costs and kindness and respect towards other people--would want their children growing up like that?
24. very very true
(03.06.09)
I hope many European Jews read this- and American Jews should also take note.
25. Yes, Aliyah now for all EuroJewry. Wanna bet ur future on
NewAllegiance   (03.06.09)
Wanna bet your future on the kindness of European civilization? "They suck it in with their mothers milk", to paraphrase Yitzchak Shamir in referencing anti-Semitism. He was right, it is true. Better to live in Israel, faults and all, then die in 'civilized' and 'progressive' Europe. The only thing progressing in Europe is Muslim power and Shari'a.
26. Notice of thing to come
TERRY   (03.06.09)
I do believe ther will be a reaction at somepoint from European natives; Muslims hate is not only directe dtoward Jews in Europe; They hate the western civilization and even the welfare country that they are currnetluy occupying. But this will not last forever. The current EU autorities are corrupted and weak. A day will come when the people, tires of those invaders, will elect new, younger leader who will tak ethe dramatic action needed to purge Europe from all thos emuslims; You will see then all these rats flocking away bcak where their native, or a gigantic blood bath like we didn't see it after WWII
27. Stop fooling israelis!
eu jew   (03.06.09)
28. #19
Ze'ev ,   Haifa   (03.06.09)
The difference is that in Europe your children will suffer the same way you do. In Israel, one generation is enough to melt into the society.
29. A new Oleh
Allan ,   Ramat Ilan, Israel   (03.06.09)
As a new Oleh to Israel, i have become so disillusioned and negative since moving to Israel, Israeli's dont see themselves as jewish first, they are secular, arrogant, rude, crude, and lacking. I will be out of here and will be moving to the states, where i can be free to express my religion and lead a good life with decent people.
30. #19 there R difficulties readjusting but we love ur brothers
