Mohammad, I agree to your comment. The Jordanians are very nice people. Thank you!

To #87: Let me correct some of the points that you have mentioned. 1- you said " You are against the war in Gaza, but I guess you would feel otherwise if Palestinians were bombing, say, Amman (or wherever you live)". You are implying that if i am against the war in Gaza, that means i support or agree with what Hamas is doing, which is incorrect. I, and many others in the world are against the terrorist Hamas, but we also disaree with the Israeli way of dealing with this particular problem, so if the palestinians were bombing Amman, i would definitly be against the mass murder of palestinian civilians. 2. you said " Your own late King Hussain thought so when he decided to kick this treachrous gang out of Jordan during Black Sepetmber. Did you care to cound how many non-combattants were killed then? I bet many more than 200" who told you that i agree with what our dictators do? and ask yourself the following question, do arabs have democracy to elect their leaders? so is it logical to believe that those leader represent us? 3. you said " Gaza was a natural reaction (too late to my taste) to 8 years of terror and 8000 rockets (and counting) coming from Gaza after Israel left it completely" do you call the killing of innocent civilians a natuaral reaction? do you consider Israel a modern country? if you do, you better start judging its action as a real one, not by what Hamas has done, remember two wrong does not make it right!! 4. this one really made me laugh " give an honest and useful advice to your palestinian brothers" who told you that i consider all palestinian as brothers?! I believe in a "brotherhood of man" not "brotherhood of Arabs" or "brotherhood of Jews". As such, a moderate and respectable Jew would be much closer to me that a palestinian extermist, and vice versa. Finally, if you really believe in peace, you better change the way you think about the conflict. Real peace needs brave people who have the guts to do "self criticism" and to see reality as it is, not as they want to be. To #92: And Israelies are very nice people. Hope one day we can meet and have a coffee either in Jerusalem or in Amman.
94. Mohammad: Mass Murder?
Tex ,   TX, USA   (03.09.09)
Dude.... Mass Murder is when someone walks into a school library and shoots up the students there. Mass Murder is detonating a bomb while standing in line for a pizza at lunch time. Mass Murder does not equal war time defense against missiles shot into Israel. In fact, it is ATTEMPTED MASS MURDER to spend 8 years shooting 10,000+ missiles into Sderot, Negev, and Gailellee. Do I call the deaths of innocent civilians a matter of wartime actions? Yes, I do. I don't see it as murder because nobody systematically destroyed these towns. Leaflets were dropped, phone calls were made. Why not complain about the missile launchers themselves, shooting missiles from apartment buildings and knowing full well that the war will come after them for doing so, thereby increasing the chances of civilian death? Another question: Why won't Amman take in some Gazans who want to leave that hole in the ground? Get away from the mayhem of a war brought to them by Islamic radicals? I moved to TX from Cali... that's over 1000 miles. If I can do it, why can't everyone? It's not that hard to start a new life, and you should have a right to do so. If you want peace with the Israelis, then you're going to have to accept that anyone shooting missiles at her is asking for trouble. If the folks of Gaza aren't going to save themselves, and you're not going to save them, then why oh why should Israel not defend itself against the Hamas terrorists? Collateral damage can be minimized if your country would help out. Instead, you lay the blame on Israel, which is why you find yourself angry at us. This isn't criticism. It's a pass-off of responsibility.
95. Hicham el Doofus
Tex ,   TX, USA   (03.09.09)
Talk about whining.... Hey, Palestinians, come onto Israeli message board and call us Racists, War Mongers, Terrorists of a Terror State... Cry about Nakba. Whine about Congress. Weep to the UN, and UNRWA, and the Arab League. The Jews and their Joo-Rays and their propaganda in the Zionist newspapers.... And yet you are here, Hicham el Douchebag. Bashing Israel. Bashing Jews. All in the name of Racism. You're right. Racists bastards like you always speak up on Israeli message boards because we need to hear you, right? Your idiocy, stupidity, pathetic rewriting of history and terminology. Just accept that you can't live with us. Announce it to the world. No one would be surprised. And you will feel much better having said it loud and proud: I don't like Jews. Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.

Fasten your seatbelt.... For 60 years Israel has existed, and for 60 years you have maintained a hatred of Israelis for "occupying" Palestine. I hope for another 60 years, this eats away at your stomach lining. When you die, Israel will still be around. And that's when the jokes will really start. I'm already laughing.

i was part of the crowd that gathered and saw the demonstration in sweden. believe me, there were less than 800 people demonstrating and most of not all were of arab or muslim origin. some wore neo nazi outfits, but most were very very muslim. it was rare to see a while person there and most muslims got on top of police cars and damaged them and screamed allah hu akbar...the usual war cry we hear here in sweden. i took some pictures and sent them to other news poutfits to show them who demonstrated. it was clear very very few swedes demonstrated and most of the crowd were poor muslims in malmo and some neo nazis. this is hardly a swedish crowd, much less a civilized crowd at all. most were just thugs and barbarians without much to demonstrate except their ingrained hate for jews in general....something the muslims always vent no matter what and where they happen to live. the same occured in uae. no one demonstrated apart from muslim thugs who are poor, desperate economically, brain dead and unproductive economically. marcel cremieux sweden

Please check a wonderful op-ed article on Sweden by the director Simon Wiesenthal Center on jpost.com! It is fabulous, you can learn a lot! Other than that, please get in dialogue outside of this board - I have something to say. Don't censor my comment!!!

Ironic how the Palestinians have "hijacked" the discussion of apartheid. Where are jews in Gaza? Africans? Bahai's? Gays and Lesbians? Christians? None of them exist in Gaza? They barely exist on the West bank or Lebanon, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, etc. The Palestinian tactic is if you are guilty of discrimination, accuse the Jew.
103. ironic
jon   (03.09.09)
I have to say. this is so incredibly ironic. The land that brought the Oslo accords (which ended up doing nothing but causing further problems for israel - including an increase in violence) has produced this kind of vitriol and hatred against Israel. These athletes have nothing to be ashamed of - rather the people throwing stones are pathetic.
104. #1, if you hate Israel so much, why do you live here? LOL
Lyle ,   Ramat Gan   (03.09.09)
105. #102, great point. Also, 99% of those protesting were Muslim
Lyle ,   Ramat Gan   (03.09.09)
Many of my Swedish friends have told me that 99% of those rioting against Israeli tennis players were Muslim immigrants.
106. Please don't judge us all
Karl ,   Malmo, Sweden   (03.09.09)
Dear Andy Ram, Please don't judge us all for the doings of a small group of extremists. Believe me when I say that a vast majority of the population in Malmo is absolutely furious with what the extremists and protestors did and with the fact that the Police didn't deal more harsly with them. The average citizen would have loved to see you all play and enjoy a beautiful moment of great sports. We to feel robbed. I have visited you beautiful country a couple of times and really enjoyed it. And I would very much like you to be able to visit Sweden and enjoy it to, wheter as a well respected professional athlete or as a regular tourist. We ordinary swedes who would have loved to see you play are so many more than those who acted with violence and hatred outside the arena. We can only hope that our authorities take us more seriously and in the future handles extremists more swiftly and promptly. Best regards, Karl in Malmo
107. I hope Sweden will be flooded with islamists
(03.09.09)
To my swedish friends, when in 100 years or so, your country will turn muslim then It will be a pleasure for me! If you swedes dont dare to resist then your country will be doomed. I am sure 100% that your country will be muslim one day or another. To remain silenet against them, refusing to condemn publicly this disgrace, I can assure you your country is DOOMED. Anyway, I am glad at least you swedes have chosen your side: Islam - fascism - totalitarism. You will tell me that's bullshit then I say to you: LET'S SEE IN 50-100 YEARS!
108. SWEDEN IS SICK !!!.
ARN. ,   SWEDEN.   (03.09.09)
YES WE ARE THE MOST DEMOCRATISED SOCIALISTIC COUNTRY IN THE WORLD. NOBODY RISKS ANYTHING BY GOING BANANA AS THE LEFTWINGERS DO. WE HAVE PROBLEMS, WERY GREAT PROBLEMS AND A SHOWDOWN FROM GOD IS BEEING PREPERED UPON US, WE NEED BEATING TO COME TO OUR SENSES. ARN.
109. A taste of one's own medicine
KC Wilson ,   New York, USA   (03.09.09)
The Israeli tennis player complains that the team's freedom of movement was contrained; he felt in danger of assault. Yet he's "proud" of his government that does a thousand times that, all the time, to Palestinians. Instead of "pride," try empathy.
110. Mazal Tov from a friend in Malmö
Johanna ,   Malmö, Sweden   (03.09.09)
I can only congratulate the Israeli team to its victory! I am deeply embarrassed and ashamed as a citizen of Malmö to have given you this disgraceful welcome! Politicians, as well as media, have been showing extremely bad judgement and poor morals, and it is like a slap in the face on fundamental principals of democracy how this event has been respected and handled. The general disgustful tendencies of anti-Semitism around here are making me detach emotionally from the town where I was born...
111. yes i know oslo is in norway...

112. Karl #106
Tahl ,   Ashdod, Israel   (03.09.09)
Thank you Karl for your words. In today's tense atmosphere against us, it means a lot to us to get support from friends worldwide like you. Unfortunately though, some Swedes like Andres in #66 think differently. I don't blame him actually, he seems like a good person in the core, only he is too gullible to buy into the distorted pictures coming from your media, and thus formulate a wrong opinion about us. In general it is imperative to learn how to analyze the real story instead of being spoonfed... People all over the world, including Israel, are guilty of such sin. I'm glad you enjoyed your visit here. Although I'm afraid I can't say the same about visiting your country, I could say that I met some very nice Swedes and I do want to visit Sweden too, though I'm afraid it's too late to do so as a professional athlete. ;) I still think this was one heck of a series in tennis, and fortunately sports prevailed over politics. We made a huge effort and it paid for us. But we were also fortunate that Johanson was not in shape, and that Soderling was sidelined with injury. Otherwise we would have had no chance. But, let us enjoy this moment while we can. :)
113. To Anders #66
Helena ,   Sweden   (03.09.09)
"peacefully protested"? You have to check your eyes, Anders the Proud Swede. Didn't you see the Arab mob chanting, throwing stones at the police and destroying police vehicles. Some "peaceful demonstration"! I advise you to go and buy a burqa and a niqab for your wife/daughter/mistress/sister as your "peaceful" friends procreating very speedy and will soon force us to introduce sharia in Sweden. Don't you forget that you live in Eurabia.
114. Andy Ram doesn't know his own country
Dave ,   Palo Alto, USA   (03.09.09)
If Andy Ram feels so sad about the treatment of the Israeli team, why doesn't he feel anything about the treatment of the inhabitants of Gaza? Does he know that students as well as athletes are usually denied exit visas by his government to study/play abroad? Does he know that his governemnt thinks that people in Gaza are not entitled to eat pasta? That people in Gaza, including children, should go on a diet because they voted for the wrong party? When is he going to feel sad for the 400 dead children in Gaza?
115. Cost of Land in Palestine
Diggin ,   NYC   (03.10.09)
Did you think it would be free? The silence of every Israeli (or Jew), makes them complicit in their government's policies. Furthermore, your leaders have never shied away from injecting politics into sports - case in point the Iranian team a few years back. My only sympathy is for Swedish taxpayers who have to cough up the cost of hosting Israeli athletes. Next time your government discriminates against Arabs, or kills them indiscriminately, or engages in collective punishment, maybe you'll open your mouth and say something.
116. Sweden
david ,   new york ny   (03.10.09)
How sad mainly for Sweden which displayed itself as the craven patsy of jihadists and anti semites. Perhaps the most pathetic show of government ineptitude since they launched the Wasa in Stockhold. Israel will survive and flourish. Sweden?
117. #1 Apartheid - Jossi
Raoul ,   Israel   (03.10.09)
Such a a statement must be rejected with all the vehemence necessary. Why? Because it is simply untrue. The apartheid SYSTEM was in the statute books, and was all embracing. No contact between races in ALL sections, including sex, marriage, place of abode, social, transport, public facilities, parks, in fact EVERYTHING. Blacks were regarded as less than human. Jossi, EDUCATE yourself.
118. #114 Cry me a river
Cynthia ,   USA   (03.10.09)
Children are dead in Gaza because the adults who are supposed to care for and protect them sacrificed them for terror. Irresponsible, savage behaviour got them where they are today.
119. "Sport". Berlin 1936 vs Malmö 2009.
Joo ,   Eurabia   (03.10.09)
The difference is that Berlin Nazi Olympics were not violent and didn't threatened athletes.
120. #118 Cynthia
Wildmandxb ,   M.E.   (03.10.09)
You are one of those idiots living in the USA pretending to know it all! you just deviated from the main point mentioned by Dave...do you feel sorry for the 400 babies killed by the IDF? don't tell me rockets sent from Gaza with no explosive warheads, with a mission to scare people would justify the mass killings of Gazans with the most technologically advanced weapons!Do you think Hamas is sending missiles to israel just for fun? shame on you! think before you speak as it will improve your retarded image people like you cast upon themselves. SHALOM
