The reason Haniyeh is gaining popularity is due to the fact Arabs got to the conclusion that Israel only understands force and talking peace to Israel is a waste of time. This conclusion has a merit. All the peace talks that Palestinians conducted with Israel since 1990s got them nothing. It is pointless to talk peace with Israel.

There goes the myth that the "poor Palestinians are being strong-armed by Hamas." The Palestinians had free elections and elected Hamas! They continue to support them...their crocodile tears are for export and to emotionally blackmail the rest of the world so they will be seen as the victims. In reality they are the agressors and have no desire to live side by side with a Jewish state. They also have no conscience nor remorse in exporting their lies in order to achieve their end goal.The world needs to open their eyes.

Plus the fact that from day one the Arabs in Gaza starting launching missles at Israeli cities, a war crime. Israel waited a WEEK having an onslaught of missles from Gaza before the defensive operation. The peace fence is another example of a peaceful means to prevent arabs from trying to murder as many civilians as possible. Yes, Israel understands force, it understands that the Arabs around it ONLY use force and refuse to make peace. The peace with Jordan Palestine and Egypt is a joke. Egypt has been in violation of its agreement for decades! I will quote which lines they broke if you like, but its pretty obvious.

The Israeli should now understand that Arab does not want peace and will never want in a foreseeable future. Hamas was strongly defeated and Arab civilians suffered losses but they still support this warmongering organization. Your claim that talks with Israel have resulted in nothing is wrong. Pals have gained alot by talking to Israel, including the fastest growing economy in the world in the late 1990s which they threw away for the tiny chance of destroying Israel. Do you think that was lost on the Israelis?? They know that even when Arabs talk, Arabs launch attacks. When Pals talked peace, it still made demands that would result in Israel's demise. Pals made NO concessions in talks and never fulfilled their own obligations, like changing school books and tv shows that promoted NO Israel in the region. In addition, when the Pal govt talks peace, their "radical arm" began launching terror attacks and Pals claimed they couldn't control them. It's a tactic used by Hamas, Hizbullah, Iran, Sudan, Pakistan, etc. to offset responsibility while tacitly condoning and supporting terror. We know it and we won't stand for it. So if you Arabs want real peace - come to the table with the 3 NOs: NO weapons, NO dreams of destroying Israel, NO using Pals as your fodder to gain Islamic supremacy. Then you'd see it work.

The shameful part is the EU and US still get dupped by the Pals and dump millions of $$ into their hands while they continue their war crimes. "1300 women and children" - um, even the groups that did claim this do not anymore. Proof shows only half of these were killed and less than a third where women and children, most likely dragged by the arm or hair as human shields. If this action of locking families in houses, booby trapping them to kill soldiers gains Hamas support, then truly there is no more degenerate in the world lower than the Palestinian.
