His debt to society will NEVER be paid. Keep him in prison until he rots.
2. That's the difference between Hamas
Maria ,   MD   (03.09.09)
and Israel. If you're a Palestinian collaborating with Israel, you'll be killed. I don't understand why the world sees Israel as the aggressor.I think Israel is very merciful towards its enemies.
3. DEBT NOT PAID
Eddie ,   Brooklyn NY   (03.09.09)
He did not pay his debt to anything... in matter of fact there was no good reason for giving him any vacations in the first place. Israel deals with traitors wrong, what the hell is only 16 years for betraying your country. He should be doing life without parole, at least that if not the death penalty... they should be treating him worse than a dog or an arab. Well thats my saying
4. Considering what he did, he's lucky he wasn't executed.
Raymond in DC ,   Washington, DC USA   (03.09.09)
The article only hints at his offense. But Ronen Bergman's recently published "The Secret War with Iran" provides what the article doesn't tell us. According to Bergman, Manbar was a well connected arms dealer, which perhaps explains why he was allowed to conduct his business for so long and why he's been treated so leniently. And what he was dealing was chemical weapons know-how and equipment.
5. starting a family at 62 or at 65 makes little difference
make him example   (03.09.09)
to base his argument for early release on wanting to start a family seems weak. if he's inlove with someone that won't wait 3 years, still doesn't excuse an early release. the iranians shall not trust him anymore cause he was uncovered, but what he did was too highly immoral, for money. his greed could cause the death of many
6. Maybe he could start a family in iran?
jason white ,   afula,israel   (03.09.09)
Let him out of prison the day he dies!
7. TRAITOR DESERVES A TRAITORS DEATH
Eddie ,   Brooklyn NY   (03.09.09)
oh and this guy says he wants to raise a family, he means he wants to raise more traitors that bastard
8. hmmm...what if...this were Pollard?
(03.09.09)
would any of these talkbackers be speaking in the same terms about that traitor?
9. TBers comments fail the "Bozaglo test"...
(03.09.09)
so why should the dark skinned Israeli traitor (Manbar) pay more than the light skinned adopted American traitor (Pollard)?
10. Serve the sentence, who cares what would please him.
Bunnie Meyer ,   Los Angeles, CA USA   (03.09.09)
11. As #10 has written so may it be with Pollard as well!
(03.09.09)
Pollard should "serve the sentence, who cares what would please him"
12. I'm still scratching my head, folks.
Persian CAT   (03.09.09)
How on earth an Israeli can sell sensitive stuff, while he lives in Israel, to Iran without the government's knowledge?!! What's up with the "unlimited, unconditional vacations"?!!! If this guy were sooooo dangerous how come he could come and go as he pleased?!!! Is Israel treating ALL its prisoners this way, or only those who "sold" stuff to Iran get such special treatment?!!!!
13. to #12 Keep scratching!
jason white ,   afula,israel   (03.10.09)
First of all he is complaining he has no vacations. The vacations last from three to five days and the police check up that the cons are staying at the place of residence they said they would be at. Secondly, we can leave Israel freely and move about most of the world. It would not be hard for manbar to buy equipment and sent it to one country and then forward it on to iran.
14. Working for State
Ethan ,   Eilat   (03.10.09)
Manbar was working for the Israeli government. He got caught and stepped on some of the wrong toes. He should be freed immediately and compensated for the wrong done against him.
15. and...
mert ,   jerusalem   (03.10.09)
and so whats next? spys dont merit vacations btw
16. #11
Marco ,   Spain   (03.10.09)
I agree!
17. Nahum Manbar
Tamara ,   Tel Aviv Israel   (03.10.09)
But he has already a family and he betrated them. He left them with nothing and forgot them.
18. WHY?
lania ,   cape town,,sa   (10.31.11)
sic when do traitors get so much attention and get such pr? and is nt a bit dangerous to release ______who is considered to be one of the most serious security criminals in Israel____??????????????????? is it again money talks?? totally shameful act of absurd that places our kids on target WITHIN OUR COUNTRY? and then when kids grow they wd think that arms delear is a cool guya nd he can get out of prison JUST TO RAISE A FAMILY AT 62?? come n people
19. WHY part 2
lania ,   cape town, sa   (10.31.11)
oh AND I WOULD NOT BE SURPRISED IF THIS INDIVIDUAL GETS A GOVERNMENTAL PSOT ANY TIME SOON, SUCH WAS NOT MENTIONED ABOVE TOGETHR WITH RESTRICTIONS HE HAS TO FACE.
