1. Shalit is a live?
ROSENVALD ,   BRASIL   (03.12.09)
I Whant to see Shallit live before the change. No change body death for dangers terrorist like did whit Nashalla.
2. Bibi would be better off to execute all prisoners with blood
Bunnie Meyer ,   Los Angeles, CA USA   (03.12.09)
on their hands than turn one of them loose to again kill Jews. How many future Jewish deaths are worth the release of one live soldier?
3. These swaps only encourage more kidnappings
Jason ,   sderot israel   (03.12.09)
Hezbollah kidnapped 3 israeli soldiers in 2000 and they were returned dead in return for hundreds of prisoners. That encouraged them to try and kidnap again for kuntar. Same here Hamas only kidnaped shalit and still tries more kidnappings because they know kadima will pay a huge price. U.S doesn't allow negotiations like they because they know it only encourages more kidnappings.
4. 180 Israelis have been killed by freed prisoners
Dan ,   tel aviv israel   (03.12.09)
The olmert regime wants to do as much damage as possible before they leave. They will impose terrible agreements with hamas which will allow iran to keep arming them through the tunnels. Kadima sees likud as the enemy not Hamas. Olmert is begging hamas to do a deal before the big bad likud takes over. Freeing these prisoners is a disgrace. The passover bombing mastermind will be freed along with the mastermind of the tourism minister killed. And olmert's grand plan is to send them to syria where they can continue to plan terror. Just like how israel used to send hamas to lebanon. How did that work out? That only brought hezbollah and hamas closer.
5. Olmert did nothing now rushes into a bad deal
David ,   ashkelon israel   (03.12.09)
Olmert wants to work with hamas to get a deal done before bibi takes office. Olmert will rush into a bad deal just to do a deal and impose conditions on bibi before he takes office. Olmert just recently decided to give into hamas demands so he can get a deal done. Doing nothing then rushing into a bad deal because you don't like who is taking over is bad policy. Lieberman also has to take some blame. The government could have been formed weeks ago but Lieberman is obsessed about civil marraige issue. Lieberman is making all these demands and taking more than a month even though he joined olmert's government immediately without demands even after the disastrous second lebanon war.
6. Proof of Life First
N ,   USA   (03.12.09)
They can't even give a proof of life? I want Gilad home at almost any price, but it seems like Hamas is content to torture the Israeli public for an indefinite period.
7. How many prisoners have been released already for Shalit?
J ,   USA   (03.12.09)
Seems like there have already been over 1,000 prisoners at least released for Shalit with no results. Why do there have to be more?
8. shalit
sas ,   israel   (03.12.09)
will believe it when i see it. too too many liars in our government. have seen this headline just too many times.
9. Response to #1
Hypoxia   (03.12.09)
Yeah, I say if we get a dead body, we go back to fully occupy the Gaza Strip, if the Palestinian people wont stand up against the terrorists, we will!
10. UN is stricly 1 sided
Hypoxia   (03.12.09)
Yea, its sad you dont see anything going on with the UN regarding Shalit, but when Israel so much as raises its pinky, you hear all this bullcrap about how inhumane we are. This is really sickening!
11. Ultimately the woe-is-unto-Israel.
Ypip ,   Canada   (03.12.09)
12. We're resolved by those held from us.
Ypip ,   Canada   (03.12.09)
There is no time.

ohlmert is not capable of doing anything except stealing.
14. with or without proof of life; each package has a price

15. SHALIT
MIKE VAN HARRIS ,   ANTWERP BELGIUM   (03.12.09)
SHALIT IS NOT BETTER THAN THOUSANDS OF PALISTINIANS PRISINERS IN YOUR JAILS. THEY MUST BE FREEEEEEEEE.
16. The Ethics is clear
Udi ,   Tel-Aviv   (03.12.09)
The ethics, both Jewish and secular (Kantian) is clear here: however hard it is to release some of the prisoners, such calculations cannot and must not be made at the expense of Gilad Shalit - as a person, he must be seen as an end in himself and not as a means to an end. There is no grey area here. Do unto others as you'd have them do unto you - in his case the "other" is Gilad Shalit. However unpleasant, the decision is clear. nb. Sending released prisoners to Gaza means that, almost certainly, they won't kill again. It's not possible for them to get attacks out of Gaza, which is why they use rockets (with the obvious exception of the one tunnel when Shalit was captured).
17. Mike, the fact of the matter is....
Kev ,   London   (03.12.09)
Shalit IS better. Shut the hell up.
18. Simple way to make it work - if he is dead send them bodies
Eric ,   Tel Aviv   (03.12.09)
1st 300 are women and children, no one with blood on their hands and no high level leaders If Shalit is given to Egypt alive then the next part can be released alive. If Shalit is dead, then the rest of the list gets shot and turned over in the same condition that Shalit is returned in. This will discourage future kidnapping and the bull of keeping details about status hidden against the Geneva Convention.
19. Israels Policy of Kidnapping many Palestinians.. seems to
RJBH ,   Methil   (03.12.09)
Bearing fruit... I for one hope that Prisoner of War Shalit is alive and well and will be returned to his family... and of course That all Palestinian "Detainees" are released in a similar fashion. .. The 450 "Convicted".. of course means absolutely nothing to anyone other than Zionist.
