1. any coaliton with kadima would keep nationalists out
zionist forever   (03.13.09)
Which would be a betrayl to the right who got him elected. If Netanyahu forms a coalition with Kadima nationalist policies will be harder to impliment and he will have more trouble getting the small rightist parties to join. His ideal coalition is Likud, Kadima & Yisrael beitanu it will give him a comfortable 70 seats and there will be no religious or nationalist parties and we will have a government thats not that much more right wing than the Olmert government. With Livni together with Liberman who will just go with the flow as long as he has his secualr policies and with Obama and Clinton in Washingtom the Golan & Jerusalem would be gone within a year. We will probably give up the nuclear deterent. Obama does't want Israel to have nukes, Bibi doesn't like spending on the military and likes cutbacks where ever possible. If the US offered protection I can imagine if he has the right people in his coalition he would agree. This would be a stable left-centre coalition run by the US
2. Likud/kadima talks

Good news if true. Israel Kadima appears to be exerting excessive pressure on Netanyahu. Control rather than significan participation in government seems to be their negotiating objective. Netanyahu may gain more freedom of action with support of former Likud persons in Kadima. Peres as President and Netanyahu as PM are Israel's strongest leadership duo. It combines wisdom, inate intelligence, geo-political perspective, indisputable concern for their nation's interest and very needful capacities to communicate effectively.

Marcella   (03.13.09)
This is the first I hear of Israel giving up its nukes. Please tell me how did this notion came about. Has Bibi or anyone in Likud said anything in favor of it? For how long has this possibility been talked about?
6. #5 The possibility has not been talked about
Aharon   (03.14.09)
#1 is just your typical alarmist/propagandist, don't worry about him.
7. Best coalition: Likus+Kadima+ Israel Beiteinu

Thanks. By the way, I did a Google search of the words "Israel Give Up" and it's quite a painful experience. How can a sovereign (?) country be treated like this by the world and particularly by its "friends and allies"! All those calls for Israel to give up this and to give up that is nothing but diplomatic language for "Go ahead and commit suicide". Israelis should tell the US, UK, UN and all foreign entities to stop interfering in Israeli affairs. But with the present and future governments' typical subservience, fat chance of that!
