1. Netanyahu wants the left as his friends not the right
zionist forever   (03.17.09)
What the hell is it with this man he seems desperate to abandon the nationalist & religious block who are on his side instead he wants left wint Barak & Livni. The man is a snake oil salesman he promises he wants a right wing government before the election and afterwards he wants a liberal left wing one. Also if he wants a cioalition that includes Labour and Kadima then its Livni who should be the PM Kadima have 1 more seat than Likud and she can forn a coalition with Barak & Liberman who would quite happily leave Netanyahu if Livni made him a better offer. Does Netanyahu really want to be put into a position where Likud are the second party and which the opposition leader has more morral right to be PM than he does? He will also find that the natural allies Livni & Barak between them have 41 seats in the coalition whilst Netanyahu will have 27 The man is a snake oil salesman promises to be one thing but makes sure we get something else. Its been 5 weeks now since the election, we still have Olmert and are no closer to a new government than we were the day before the election and Netanyahu keeps going round and round in circles trying to get Livni & Barak. When is he going to start putting country first?
2. "BIBI" is scum, as shown by his obsession with far left!

3. look i dont blame the guy,

he knows the only way israel can prosper in the next few years is if he has a livni and barak, he wants them but he doesnt want to do the 2 state or let her have rotation. He even scared livni, by making these negotioations with leiberman, it didnt work livni will be in likuds government unless she get those 2 things, and netanyahu is looking pretty desperate, my guess is he will take her offer or take atleest one of the 2 (for example accept rotation but not accept 2 state)... the bottom line is the next governement has to consist if livni barak and bibi, backing the 2 state solution..
4. #1 why are you in shock?
Carl   (03.17.09)
Bibi was courting the left throughout the campaign. And still right wing voters trusted him, hoping perhaps that Bibi would have a last minute conversion and turn right. Anything to avoid a Kadima government, they said... Hah! The guy has lost all self-respect in his pathetic begging Livni to please, please join him in a coalition. He talks and walks like a leftie, he gave away Hebron... what do you expect....
5. Bibi is simply putting pressure on the right ..
martin knopfman ,   tel aviv   (03.17.09)
it's called leverage. "If you ask for too much then I'll go with Kadima or Labor". Livni doesn't understand leverage or negotiating and is like a child in the wilderness. Surprisingly there are many talkbackers that can't read between the lines either. Martin
6. #5 Martin - Actually Bibi is putting presure on the left
Eric ,   Tel Aviv   (03.17.09)
If Bibi was serious about an all left government he would be holding serious talks with Shas and UJT to close his missing 18 seats now that he has Liberman. But he is spending time with the Left. He knows that signing with Liberman will not stop Livni or Barak form joining him but could hurt signing with Shas. So then why did he sign with Liberman with conditions for civil marriages (not yet approved by the rabbis)? Because he knows that he can count on Shas only as long as he pays them off, and in this economy that will be hard to do.
