No amount of education can eradicate the German and Austrian spirit of anti-semitism.
3. 2 Winston, London: It is genetic perhaps...
Rivkah   (03.18.09)
Ancient Assyrians migrated to Bavaria (Southern Germany and Austria), a genetic line with an ancient animosity and enmity toward Jews. It was Antiochus Epiphanes, the Assyrian who slaughtered a pig on the altar of the Jewish Temple in Jerusalem. The Antichrist who is a world ruler in the days before the Jewish Messiah comes as the Lion of Judah is also called "The Assyrian". So his genetic line would be similar to Antiochus Epiphanes, regardless of where he comes from.
4. Christian Pfeiffer

In 1997, Joseph Abdulla, a six year old boy drowned in a swimming pool in Sebnitz (Saxony). His mother told the media that her son had been tortured and killed by Nazis. Christian Pfeiffer said in an expert opinion that she was absolutely trustworthy. Years later, a court found out that the testimony of the mother was a blunt lie. The boy died from a heart failure (without any interaction from other people) and the mother suffered from mental problems.

Germany spends insane amounts of money for "fighting the Right". Way too many people are working in this "business" and these people do everything to keep their jobs.

There are a couple of things that I do find disappointing about Germany, but this article does seem hard to believe for me. 1 in 20 is a lot! Does not seem likely.

9. In a comparative sense, a bit of a joke.
Cameron ,   USA   (03.19.09)
Jews in the West should have their eyes focused on the alliance of the Left & Muslims in these times. The mutual raw hatred and malevolence that these two groups have toward Jews truly dwarfs the neo-Nazi movement in terms of no.s, resources, and behavior on the streets. The far right represents fears & baggage from the past, but others operating in the present represent the real threat.

... British selfrighteousness. By the way, Britain is in the first line when it comes to "modern" antisemitism, called "antizionism", isn't it...?! Furthermore, it is very mindless to think that antisemitism would have something to do with the political "education of the Germans and Austrians" – very superficial thinking indeed. The study states that 5.2% of the 15-years old are engaged with extremist right-wing organizations – what means that 94.8% of this age are not. Furthermore it is said that those youths are closer to neo-nazi ideology that made "experiences of violence" themselves, exerted by their parents. Furthermore having an "alcohol problem" and more likely spending a lot of free time with "violent computer games" is closely associated with finding nazism attractive. Do we have such studies in Britain as well, Winston? Or do you prefer not to do such research in your environment – out of fear what the results might be...?!! Serious "booze problems" of Britain's youth? The "hooliganism" comes from England? The "skinhead"-movement was born there? Must say, would like to read some studies from your country as well. But hey... we all know the Brits love Israel very much – specially the BBC...

#2- actually antisemitism exits througout Europe. The Holocaust would've been a bit less tragic had it not been for the active and glad participation of many antisemitic peoples like the Poles, Ukrainians, Lithuanians, Latvians, Croats, Greeks, etc. in helpin the Nazis exterminate the Jews in their countries. Today too, antisemitism is prevalent throughout most of Europe, and your country is a great example - only it disguises its antisemitism as anti-Israelism (typical British hypocritical facade). However your Foreign Ministry official who was caught with this virulent antisemitic tirade, proved very well your country's antisemitic face. #3 - What utter fanatical messianic rubbish. Hate is TAUGHT, not inherited genetically. Many Germans who were born as a second generation after WWII, expressed a great deal of remorse and shame for their parents' doings to the Jews. Today their children feel less connected to their country's sins in that period, it seems too distant. They don't necessarily hate Jews, they're just not educated enough. Furthermore, many Americans of German/Saxon descent are great friends of Israel and the Jews. So as you see it is all about education and upbringing, and nothing about genetics. #9 - I tend to agree. While the world tends to be quite way and concerned about extreme-rightists, it largely ignores the danger posed by terror-sympathizing extreme-leftists, and the fundamentalist Muslims connected with them (funny though how extremists from both sides hate Israel with the same passion). Europe seems to have fallen asleep in this matter. It is a shame that only a handful of Europeans like Wilders are courageous enough to raise their head up from the sand, and face up to this problem.
12. Background
Albrecht Klein ,   Ger   (03.19.09)
"Minister of the interior Wolfgang Schaeuble and delinquency researcher Christian Pfeiffer present a new study on crime amongst young people. They complain about hostility against immigrants but do not say where this hatred stems from. As so often in life it needs two parties for hostility. Is it really hatred of foreigners in general? Many german pupils in schools with a high rate of scholars with muslim immigration history have a difficult and sometimes dangerous everyday life as it is stated in many reports." - Götz Wiedenroth
13. #11&9: Tahl and Cameron, agree...
Soeren ,   Cologne/Germany   (03.19.09)
... nevertheless the German state has to have these bizarre subculture (which talks about "T-Hemden" and "Weltnetz" instead of "T-shirts" and "internet") under close observation and eventually should start a combined strategic multi-level approach to fight them (law enforcement, domestic intelligence, media, youth workers, social workers etc....) By the way, did you know that NPD is close to collapse?! They have serious, serious financial problems and huge debts – since they cheated the state... I would like to add that antisemitism has the function of an "outlet" – as a kind of "solution" for personal problems which have nothing to do with "real" Jewish persons. It creates a distorted "phantasy" of "the Jew" which brings some kind of "satisfaction" – and therefore is so hard to fight...
