With respect to the refugees, the UNRWA is required to pay the host country for services and costs incurred for basic care of the refugees. With respect to those who are half Palestinian -- why not invite some of those petrodollar rich countries to contribute to their care? It should be a very public invitation so that when those countries decline to assist -- as we know they will surely do -- that can be very public as well. For the balance -- I don't know. But I have a rather old-fashioned belief that medical care is a right, not a privilege. Something does need to be done.

I would think that they would apply their logic and actions to ALL people, regardless of country. After all, their name implies that. So how come we haven't seen anything in the media regarding the lack of healthcare for the children of illegal immigrants in other countries? or for the lack of healthcare, in general, for the children of residents in oil rich countries where the very few keep the riches of the country and refuse to share basic necessities with the majority? or in many of the other countries where economic difficulty has neglected health care for some of the children? Why Israel and Israel alone? It gets really tiresome when they single out the only Jewish country in the world for their criticism. I feel for ALL children, not just the ones being used as political pawns!
