1. We need to insure that there is no linkage
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (03.19.09)
Syria will never meet the minimal conditions for peace, but if they did we need to encourage the international community continues their investigation.
2. Ehud Olmert has rehabilitate Assad’s image…
Robert Bernier ,   Tel Aviv   (03.19.09)
Ehud Olmert has literally been making a fool of himself chasing Syrian president Bashar Assad as a supposed peace partner. The main effect of the Olmert-driven, Turkish-mediated, Israeli-Syrian talks has been to rehabilitate Assad’s image and get him invited as a featured guest to French president Nicolas Sarkozy’s Mediterranean conference in Paris, thereby cutting Assad slack in his effort to ward off being seriously investigated for the 2005 murder of former Lebanese prime minister Rafik Hariri and other Lebanese leaders. Now Assad is free handed in order to manage the destabilization and the occupation of Lebanon. More about the Syria at : http://xrl.us/bjcsd
3. WILL SYRIA WILL GO TO WAR ???
Orao Stranka. ,   Tsarigrad u Srbia.   (03.19.09)
Highly sensitive junction The regime in Damascus is currently at a highly sensitive junction and fears that opposition elements within Syria or abroad will attempt to exploit the situation. The Syrian response may therefore be directed at Israel, as is customary in the Arab world. Assad can now adopt two seemingly contradictory approaches: Diplomatic talks, or a military assault. There is not much difference between them: Both are ways of exploiting Israel in order to alleviate the pressure. -A WAR WILL SUDDENLY FLARE UPP IN THE MIDDLE EAST, BUT THE REAL SPARK WILL COME IN THE BALKANS- !!!. Alois Irlmeyer.,Bavarian seer., dead in 1959. THE WAR IN THE MIDDLE EAST WAS TO BE PRECEDED OF A -GREAT ONE WHO WILL FALL - !!!. We are entering an unstable period vis-à-vis Syria, whose senior officials may find themselves as defendants, just like the Serbian Milosevic or Sudan’s president. TAKE HEED ISRAEL - PREPERE FOR WAR !!!. Orao.
4. Great article, more Israel blaming(Darfur blamed on Israel):
Aaron ,   SF, USA   (03.19.09)
http://www.nacazai.org/ismailkamalsudan.html ^Someone needs to find out more about this wacko. They even have a documentary out: _____________________________ DVD available for purchase: 'Palestine, Sudan and the Myth of a Humanitarian U.S. Foreign Policy' At exactly the same time that the U.S. government is pretending to be concerned about suffering in the Darfur region of Sudan, it has joined with the European Union (EU) and Israel in seeking to strangle the Palestinian people. While calling for armed intervention to relieve the humanitarian crisis in Darfur, the U.S. and EU have cut off food, medicine and other critically needed materials to the Palestinian people. Israel has sealed off Gaza, one of the most densely populated and impoverished parts of the world; hospitals have run out of many medicines, malnutrition is spreading rapidly and poverty is soaring. Now, signs have begun to appear at anti-war demonstrations reading, “Out of Iraq In to Darfur.” What are the common aims that link together these seemingly contradictory U.S. policies? What should the position of the anti-war movement be? $15 — DVD (28 min) To purchase a copy, call 415-821-6545 or email answer@actionsf.org. ____________________________ What world crisis is going to be blamed on Israel next?
5. Assad doesn't care what the Hague thinks...
Joe ,   Ramat Gan   (03.19.09)
After all, there's always "plausible deniability" when all other legal strategies fail. Besides, Assad has been called worse names than "War Criminal"- "Butcher of Lebanon" comes to mind immediately. Nevertheless, charging (and possibly imprisoning/executing) Assad with war crimes is terribly misguided. It will only enable the Muslim Brotherhood (an even greater Iranian stooge than Assad is) to take Assad's place. Here's to more misguided Western meddling in the Middle East! I'm just beside myself with anticipation as to what horrors the future holds for everyone here...
6. Poor Hariri, his corpse could not be recognized
Ak ,   Bahrain   (03.20.09)
I agree with No 5 TB, The West is better to exploit the predicament of the current Syrian regime than eradicate it ... After all you'd better have pragmatic secular Alawites than Muslim Brotherhodd fanatics. The former if under pressure can reach an understanding with International community, the latter is totally irational most of the time, never predictable.

9. Don't forget Syria has a Defense Treaty with Iran
Zohan ,   Tel Aviv   (03.22.09)
not to mention by giving up The Golan, Israel will lose this strategic advantage that could lead to instability and renewed military challenges from Damascus.
