31. #21, because anti-Semitism is new?
Aaron ,   SF, USA   (03.20.09)
How uneducated are you? The crusades? Here is a list of the expulsions of the Jews: http://www.sunray22b.net/expulsions.htm While some are "unconfirmed" mainly due to destruction of documents(oral history is what kept them alive) this list also leaves some out. One needs to only bring up the blaming of the plague on jews, the Chmielnicki massacre, the spanish inquisition, the cossack pillage on jews, the russian revolution, and um....oh yeah....the holocaust to refute the notion that Israel is what perpetuates Antisemitism. Get your head out your arse.
32. Mahmood, what news other than YNET do you watch?
Aaron ,   SF, USA   (03.20.09)
to be so ignorant to what goes on in Gaza? Lemme guess.....al-jazeera and cnn? if not, it does not really matter. you seem quite ignorant to the truth. No Israeli is Pro-civilian death, but we are Pro-Israel's right to defend itself from dirty jihadists. Hamas fucks it up when they decide to shoot from civilian territories. I wonder, do they care more about international hatred towards Israel then their own people's lives? seems so!
33. lol. Is that the best Ynet can do?
Ypip ,   Canada   (03.20.09)
No wonder I pay attention to groundhogs.
34. Whalid and Mohamed
jb ,   Canada   (03.20.09)
You know, you 2 guys exemplify the worst in Muslim behaviour which unfortunately has become common place. you believe what you want to believe, you ignore facts that go against your thesis and au fond you hate Jews, consider them beneath contempt and long for those mythical days when Jews and muslims lived peacefully together (days BTW when Islam was in control and forced its beliefs on everyone on the pain of humiliation, servitude or death). You should be encouraging the Iranian people to rise up against there Islamist fanatic oppressors instead of railing against the Jews. And you Whalid, what's become of your beloved country under the fist of Hezb'allah and their Syrian masters. You were given a country after WWI when the Ottoman Empire was carved up and now you're pissing it away and giving it to Syria. Can you make your comments on any Syrian or Iranian website? Wake up!! The Iranians just murdered a reporter in their notorious prison for his crime of criticizing Ahmadinijad. Oh sorry, he committed suicide...yeah right. I hope you'll enjoy your life under a tyrants thumb.
35. Enough!
Thundercloud65 ,   Oklahoma City USA   (03.21.09)
I've had enough of people that sit in front of there TV's and say the US military or the Israeli military should do this or that. If you consider the fact that the USA has given up 10,000 in war dead in the region and over 50,000 in sons and daughters sent home that are no longer whole...that Israel has done the same to protect itself..that people on the otherside have the same stories of death, destruction and loved ones waking in screams....a different way must be found. We are all Human
36. To: Waleed at No. 30
Sarah ,   New York City, USA   (03.20.09)
Waleed, Israel is a nuclear power. Had they "given it all they had" in 2006, Lebanon would be a glowing cinder. Get real! Besides, dear, Israel handled the operation in 2006 at roughly 15% mobilization. Believe me -- the gloves were on. Against Iran, the gloves might come off, and then you'll see something like what you saw in 1967 or 1973. Remember those wars, Waleed? The Arabs/Moslems came out a very sad second best in both; and in 1973, they had all the advantage of a sneak attack on the holiest day of the Jewish calendar. Israel took losses of about 2,000 men in 1973; but the Egyptians took about 50,000 and the Syrians took about 18,000. Oh -- rest assured -- Iran will fare no better, and probably considerably worse.
37. MISLED SARA.................................#29
MAHMOOD ,   LONDON-UK   (03.20.09)
You miss the point and,as usual, turn to something else to distract those reading yours and my talk-back.However,you do not succeed in doing so because of the fact that Iranian Revolutionary guards are far too superior than what was demonstrated in Gaza. That is the point. One individual defecting to West is of no significance to us at all.We had bunch MKO's who sought refuge in various country and cunningly misled your own Intelligence Department.Didn't they? What to talk of one individual. But lack of any material distracts you to write soimething else so that it covers you up.So,Sarah, do remember and remember it well.Do not underestimate the Basij,Revolutionary Guards,ok?Wasn't the 2006 fiasco South of the river enough to remind you of anything?Pity, Sara. You seem to be living in a dream world.Wake up and meet these resistant group. You will sooner or later have to face them. Not by writing and pleasing yourself. What has gone into your head,Sara?Your own President demonstrated the reality with his greetings to Islamic Republic of Iran.Wake up Sara.
38. BLINDFOLDED....................AARON.......#32
MAHMOOD ,   LONDON-UK   (03.21.09)
Well Aaron. You seem to be belonging to the same group as Sara. Why? Why not? What have you been reading on the Gaza atrocities in your own media?I am sure you know nothing about what is going on.Anyway,I am sure you will.Once you do that and keep yourself uptodate is when you will find out how ignorant you have been.I mean I dont mind if you blindfold yourself and then say that you cannot see anything. From your talk-back,I am not sure if I am far from the truth.
39. To Sarah. Based On Historical Facts.
Maansingh ,   The Netherlands   (03.21.09)
Your TBs #11, #18, #25, #29 are great and well-documented. They are based on historical facts -- and thus, they are sound, they are true. AS such, NO one can defeat you in argument -- nor Hakim, nor Mahmood, nor Waleed. Good job, Sarah.

42. Ayatollah Mohammad Baqer Kharrazi :
Robert Bernier ,   Tel Aviv   (03.21.09)
"We are able to produce atomic bombs and we will do that.” Elimination of Israel remains a cornerstone of Islamic Republic ideology. Despite revisionist questioning about whether Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad really promised to "wipe Israel off the map," both University of North Dakota law professor Gregory S. Gordon and Joshua Teitelbaum, senior research fellow at the Moshe Dayan Center at the University of Tel Aviv, have chronicled well over a dozen recent Iranian statements promising Israel's destruction. As Teitelbaum notes, "What emerges from a comprehensive analysis of what Ahmadinejad actually said--and how it has been interpreted in Iran--is that the Iranian president was not just calling for 'regime change' in Jerusalem, but rather the actual physical destruction of the state of Israel." THERE IS REASON TO TAKE THE WORST CASE SCENARIO SERIOUSLY. More at (3parts): http://xrl.us/owrbs
43. Barking Dogs
Cynthia ,   USA   (03.21.09)
Khamenei and Ahmadinejad have driven Iran to the brink of disaster with their quest for nuclear power. Ahmadinejad was hardly able to get his $300 billion dollar budget passed fueling an environment of tension and uncertainty in Iran which economists say will only get worse. And remember, Ahmadinejad was elected on a platform to end corruption and solve Iran's economic problems. A failure on both counts. In retrospect, he should have run on a platform to ruin the economy, limit human rights and isolate Iran. Who does the Iranian Regime think they're fooling by hiding their failures behind this nuclear power program?
44. #42, 43-Exactly.

A gang of Charles Mansons on a grand scale.
45. ECONOMIC CONDITION...............#43
MAHMOOD ,   LONDON-UK   (03.21.09)
Cynthia, your economic reports seem to be fed to you by someone.Well recorded but you seem to be forgetting that under the circumstances,Iran has manged the economy quite well. You seem to be pretending to present it as a disaster but I can assure you that it is not as bad as you make it look. How are YOU managing yours,by the way?We also keep in touch with your Wall Street dragons and know exactly what is your condition. So what, you may ask? What has caused this massive downturn in your economy and what is the condition of an average American is far too gloomy than an average person in Iran.New information for you?Yes,Cynthia, this is the new information that I am giving to you.Let someone else, who reads our talk-back,update you more precisely. No leader in Iran is trying to hide anything.Democratic process is unique and sustained to your disliking...........and I know it as well.
46. #1 John, Boise, ID USA
Waleed ,   Lebanon   (03.21.09)
Israel's nuclear "Progress" can be bombed too you know. There is no inch of so called 'Israeli' soil that is out of range of Iranian and Hezbollah missiles in case you are not aware.
47. #18 Sarah
Marco ,   Spain   (03.21.09)
Being as old as you are, you must have witnessed the Iran-Iraq war. But my dear old lady, this is not the same Iran of that in the 80s. This is the new improved Iran. The Iran of nuclear technology and sattelites into outer space. This is the Iran of long range intercontinental ballistic missiles.
48. #25 Sarah
Waleed ,   Lebanon   (03.21.09)
Sarah, do you really believe what you are saying, or is it just for propaganda purposes?
49. #34 jb, Canada
Waleed ,   Lebanon   (03.21.09)
My country under Hezbollah got back is dignity. Stone can be rebuilt but dignity has to be earned and we did earn it.
50. #36 Sarah
Marco ,   Spain   (03.21.09)
In April 2002, Sharon ordered Israeli fighter jets to destroy Syrian radar installations in Eastern, Lebanon. The installations were destroyed and three Syrian soldiers were wounded in the attack. Soon afterwards, more than 80 missiles were fired by Hezbollah at an Israeli listening post on the occupied Golan Heights and at two other positions in the Shebaa Farms area. The listening post was put out of commission and 23 Israeli soldiers were wounded. Sarah you should know that Hezbollah can hit any part of Israel any time. Including your nuclear sites. They can be put out of commission before they can be used. This is Hezbollah we are talking about. Iran is another story.
51. 36 Sarah, NYC: PM Golda Meyer almost commited suicide
Rivkah   (03.21.09)
in 1973 and the Israeli government set up contingency plans for a govenment in exile because Israel was losing the war. SECSTATE Kissinger told her, "Let the Jews bleed a little bit". She was able to get past him to President Nixon and begged him for military help and support. When Richard Nixon was a little boy, his mother read him stories from the Old Testament at bedtime. Then one day she told him, "Richard, one day you will be very important and the Jews will need you to help them to survive. You must help them." Golda speaking to President Nixon was like his Quaker mother's admonition from his childhood. He ordered the US military to supply any and all needs for Israel's defense. It was the Lord speaking to the little boy through his mother I believe. A second factor in Israel's winning the war was that Michael the Archangel, the guardian angel of Israel, fought some of the battles for the Jews. Egyptians fled their armor and tanks and weapons because they saw an army of angels coming against them, not the Israelis. What they saw was real. In the Bible, one angel can kill 180,000 people at a time. The wars of Israel have such impossible outcomes that the US Military Academy at West Point, New York, will not teach Israeli wars to their cadets. In 1948, the day after Israel became a nation, nine Muslim neighbors attacked. Israel had ONE tank and a few canons and rifles. But God won the war for them. There is a DVD series called, "Against All Odds: Israel Survives", you might enjoy viewing. Amazon.com has the least expensive sets when available. There was even an "Esther " who enabled Israel to know where Syria would attack in one of the wars by warning them after she heard Syrian Generals discussing the war plans. She was tortured for seven years when captured but was released in a prisoner exchange and to my knowledge, still lives. She and her husband and six children lost all they had to leave Lebanon when she was released from prison. The sacrifices of some people for the sake of Israel's survival is astonishing. Helping Israel cost Richard Nixon his job as US President for things that were quite minor politically unless the enemies of the Jews are on the attack.

53. #51, seriously, get help.
Idan ,   haifa,israel.   (03.21.09)
54. #45 Dear Mahmood
Cynthia ,   USA   (03.21.09)
I see Iran's transparency is of concern to you but clearly, the Iranian economy is in shambles. The US economy is in recession but efforts are being made to turn it around and people are doing their part and finding ways to survive until the economy improves. We have a track record for surviving recessions. Iran has hit a point of no return and the government uses this dark period against the people by removing more and more of their rights. The Regime closed 4000 businesses considered un-Islamic. Female students have been well represented in the universities but the Regime wants to change this as they do not like women being able to make equal to or more money than men. They are trying to stop Iranian bloggers from expressing disagreement with the government as evidenced by the death this past week of a doctor who was arrested for blogging and died in prison. Several members of the Bahai faith are standing trial for trumped up charges while public executions and stoning of women continues. Just a few examples for now. The Regime wants to create more disillusionment among the people to manipulate them into believing the chaos came from external influences and only the Islamic Regime can save them. Happy New Year to you.
55. To: Marco at No. 47
Sarah ,   New York City, USA   (03.21.09)
Marco, dear, the Iran of today is considerably more fractious and discontent than the Iran of the 1980s. It is the Iran of ballyhooed test-firing of missiles (that failed) and photo-shopped trumpeting of imagined successes. It is an Iran that is tired of thirty years of Islamic repression and an Iran that is in desperate economic straits. What it most emphatically is not is an Iran that can successfully pull off a first strike upon Israel. It is one thing to have the capability; it is another thing to deliver that capability. Iran has the former; not the latter. Israel has both. Please put aside your anti-Semitism and anti-Zionist sentiment long enough to appreciate the facts for what they are. Israel can destroy Iran and it will not take long. The reverse is not true. While Israel will no doubt seek an alternative solution, the facts are what they are. You need to understand this.
56. To: Waleed at No. 48
Sarah ,   New York City, USA   (03.21.09)
Waleed, you do not know me so you could not have known this about me: if I say it, I believe it to be true. I am not big on propaganda -- I much prefer facts on the ground. I am disinclined to believe rhetoric and bombast. That's why I think Iran is headed for disaster in any confrontation with Israel. It has nothing to do with propaganda, and everything to do with the facts. Thanks for asking.
57. To: Rivkah at No. 51
Sarah ,   New York City, USA   (03.21.09)
Well, Rivkah, I think you put more faith in the supernatural than I do, and I respect you for having an unshakable faith. Me -- I'm a little more pedestrian. I put my faith in Israel's survival in its military superiority. I just wish it would exercise that superiority -- which is considerable -- every now and again; keep the Moslem hordes at bay. It doesn't always have to be about the "last possible minute." Nothing wrong with excising a cancer before it becomes malignant. We can; we should.
58. 51,52 Idan & Marco: Read the Jewish Bible and ask the Lord
Rivkah   (03.21.09)
for faith to believe. When an Islamic Crescent is reformed and Israel is deceived into a covenant with death they think is a peace treaty, there will be an invasion of Israel 3 and a half years later according to the Prophet Daniel. Zechariah the Prophet says only a third of Israelis will survive. Who are the third who survive? Those who are Jews in their hearts who are not swine eaters (Isaiah chapter 65 & 66) who obey the Commandments and repent when they don't or can't. Idan is in more danger than Marco since Idan lives in Israel. I can almost bet Idan perishes with the two-thirds of Israel who are atheists, covenant breakers, sodomites, fornicators, etc. Better get right with God with some faith. One with God is a majority: I am an army of one with God which is more powerful than an army of 200 million Muslims that will perish at Armageddon from an earthquake and then from killing each other. Read the Bible an hour a day and in six months, start over. Each time you read it, you will learn more. You are both pathetically lacking in understanding of the Lord who created you and the earth and the universe.
59. #51 Total BS
Cynthia ,   USA   (03.21.09)
And for your information the name is Golda Meir, not Meyer. You read the wrong obituary.
60. MOST UNFORTUNATE................#54
MAHMOOD ,   LONDON-UK   (03.21.09)
That you are gathering all possible points trying to justify your standpoint but you may only succeed in doing so to few readers who have the habit of pleasing themselves with any anti-Iranian reports, but let me assure you that your reading is not even nearer to the reality that exixts in Iran today. You have definitely been misled and I am not surprised at all. When you start mixing up other issues you only succeed in gatherin few negative points without rendering justice to the point we are discussing and that is the IRANIAN ECONOMY.Well, latest reports published for the IMF usage is WRONG,is it? The other body for UN determining statistics also is WRONG,is it?Only what you allege is right? How can we just give in to the additional crap that is pouring from USA?We can't and thus my reply to you. Further,on political issues,if you look at it closely,Iran just does not do ANYTHING right. All its activities, statements, course of action and any new announcements made by their leaders is incorrect and wrong.Imagine where do you stand in all this.It is a country of 70million and not an island around Jamaica,Cynthia. One fails to understand what your motive is,to start with.
