1. iranian pistachio
cy moen ,   LA, CA   (03.25.09)
to give up iranian pistachios(highest quality and taste in the world exported to over 70 countries) with what comes from California, is to give up filet minon for a big mac.
2. #1 but i like big mac

3. pistachio nuts
sas ,   israel   (03.25.09)
who needs them from iran????????????????????????????we really are a crazy nation.
4. i prefer californian
eddie ,   London UK   (03.25.09)
much more wholesome and fresh perhaps they can grow some in Gaza and export to Israel, and this would bring peace!
5. Put the nut in the shell next to your tongue and see if it
Rivkah   (03.25.09)
burns the tongue slightly. If it does, the nuts are irradiated. Eat at your own risk. Many things are irradiated: some capsules, bananas, pears, head lettuce. When head lettuce burned my tongue from the irradiation, that was the last time I ate head lettuce from a store. It is scary what is being done to foods.
6. It isn't the Iranian farmer
Chaya ,   Bat Yam   (03.25.09)
but the government I have trouble with. A large number of Iranians have no negative feelings against Israel.
7. Turkey has its own rich pistachios agricalture Not iranian
Tayfun_Turkey ,   Istanbul   (03.25.09)
But Turkish pistachios are very valuable and expensive perhaps Israel buys cheaper Iranian pistachios because they cannot buy Turkish one or wrong information you have In Turkish we call pistachios as "pistachios of Damacus(sham)" that is capital city Sham of Syria, you may be importing Syrian pistachios as well. http://images.google.com.tr/images?q=%C5%9Eam+F%C4%B1st%C4%B1%C4%9F%C4%B1&oe=utf-8&rls=org.mozilla:tr:official&client=firefox-a&um=1&ie=UTF-8&ei=aiTKSc_YKsLC-Aa4pZzsBw&sa=X&oi=image_result_group&resnum=5&ct=title

I am shocked, turkey can sell pistachios??? what??? and I only thought turkey buy weapons from Israel, good to know.

I agree with you about the Iranian people. In fact, I've read that more than a few of them feel quite positively toward the U.S. and Israel. Apparently, they believe that if the mullahs hate the "Great Satan" and the "Little Satan" so vehemently, there must be something good about both our countries.
10. THE QUALITY THAT CANNOT BE REPLACED
MAHMOOD ,   LONDON-UK   (03.25.09)
So let the Israeli society continue to eat their favourite pistachio and to make it simpler, imagine them to be grown on the borders of Turkey.Have a nice pistachio day!!!!:)
11. Illegal pistachio
Ben ,   Haifa, Israel   (03.25.09)
Who is the very little man, trying to make a name for himself in The Israel Tax Authority at the expense of other people?
12. No# 6 Chaya; Couldn't agree more
Matityahu ,   Slovenia   (03.25.09)
We're at war with their psychopats, not with people who just want to make a living.
13. How were they supposed to know?!
Heather Czerniak ,   Milwaukee, WI, USA   (03.26.09)
Chill, California! Israel didn't know they came from Iran. Go ahead and put a tax on it, but doesn't Israel grow its own nuts anyway?
14. Iranian pistacho burns californian pistacho
Abu Zyad ,   Arabian peninsule   (03.25.09)
Californian pistacho is trash. Israelis are paying the nuclear program of Iran. This is good.We need this cooperation in middleast.
15. #14 Abu
Cynthia ,   USA   (03.26.09)
Bet you've never tasted the superior California pistachio nut that's taking over the market. The California Pistachio Association is strong and aggressively pursuing the market. Iran's pistachio crop suffered last year from a damaging fungus and drought that significantly cut their production.
16. SO WHAT,CYNTHIA?..................#15
MAHMOOD ,   LONDON-UK   (03.26.09)
If the crops failed, nothing new in it,is it?Do you mean you have never experienced the same in your own country. What a trash from a personality like yours.Let the Israeli enjoy the marked high quality pistachio whilst you concentrate on the Californian ones.
17. No. 16 Mahmood
(03.26.09)
That's very ungentlemanly of you. You certainly have a right to disagree, but Cynthia made a legitimate point. Why all the hostility toward someone you don't even know? Could it be it really has nothing to do with pistachio nuts?
18. ABSOLUTELY CORRECT............#17
MAHMOOD ,   LONDON-UK   (03.26.09)
Since Cynthis has taken an authoratative stand in almost everything to do with Iran.Kind of in-built attitude which is permanent.I have no personal grudge at all.And what was wrong if the crop failed in Iran.Haven't they already made up since then? You can ask the Turkish merchants and the consumers in Israel as well.
19. Fiskut War
Besalel ,   Kew Gardens, NY   (03.26.09)
I honestly don't think the it makes any difference in the world if Israel buys nuts from california or some poor Iranian farmer. Iran is oil rich, the Fistukim money probably is totally insignificant for the Iranian government. Personally, I think the Sarraf nuts are number 1 and they are from california.
20. Who the hell needs pistachios? Is that the best Iran can
(03.26.09)
export besides terrorism?
21. NO self control!
IRAN#1   (03.27.09)
See you can't even give up on nuts!!! And you think you can challenge Iran? Dream on beneaheads :)
22. Fed up - US should boycott Iran but Israelis won't??
It's All Nuts   (03.27.09)
The illegal import can be stopped: don't allow any import of these nuts (pun intended) if you cannot trace the source. Supply lines for imports into Israel should be transparent and easily traceable, or the item should be banned. It's pretty pissy that we in the US have been doing back-bends to get our governements to impose economic sanctions on Iran, in part because of its government's threats against Israel, and all the while Israelis have been snubbing their nose at their own laws and sanctions, all in the name of profit and snobby gastronomy. And if there is some trade agreement with Turkey, then the Turks need to take responsibility for their own lack of sourcing oversight. It's a _ _ _ _ed up trick to play on one's neighbor to in effect force them to buy food from another neighbor who's bent on their annhilation. If you can put your foot down with Hamas and Gaza, you can put your foot down with Turkey. And if you can't or won't, then stop asking other countries to do what you yourselves won't. Time to do a better job od policing and actually enforcing the rules with your own.
23. In a nutshell: Buy Made in California
Cynthia ,   USA   (03.27.09)
Let the nuts in Iran suffer for their evil ways. Their oil industry has nose dived and second biggest export product, the pistashio nut, registered a failed crop this past year. I'm sure the persian carpet business isn't booming in this globally recessed economy either. I wish Mahmood would show a little more respect for the time and effort I put into unveiling Iran.
24. DIDN'T I TELL YOU....................TO#17 FOR #23
MAHMOOD ,   LONDON-UK   (03.27.09)
That Cynthia is now jumping from pistachio(the favourite for many Israelis to do with other products from Iran. All countries are going through recessionary trend. What is the problem with Cynthia?Any of your investment with any Iranian?Your unveilling of Iranian economy is nothing new.You probably dont visit the Iranian sites to see the decline in their exports. But so is the case for USA.Arent you worried about USA?Or do we have to unveil the jobless job seekers roaming in different cities in USA?
25. #24 Are you nuts about me, Mahmood?
Cynthia ,   USA   (03.28.09)
I want to assure you that I do visit Iranian sites to see the decline in their exports. Based on the latest article I read today, we can add textiles and sugar to the failing Iranian industries. Sorry Mahmood, I don't create the news, your favorite Iranian Regime does.
26. got the lesson
(03.28.09)
"hadn't Jews boycotted Hitler during war time, Holocaust wouldn't have been happened" Quoted from a big Zionist.
27. afterall those pistachios are not Iranians
observer   (03.28.09)
Tracing the blood lines of the pistachios; DNA testings have proved that those have Azerbaijani chromosome. The true proof came from the testimony of Lieberman that those are original Azerbaijanis. Avigdor Lieberman went on to study at the local agricultural institute and worked as a nightclub bouncer and a broadcaster in Baku (the capital city of Azerbaijan) before moving with his parents to Israel in 1978. With all that honorable history, but still Lieberman can't find his stolen mobile phone to answer your questions.
28. MAKE CORRECTION FOR CYNTHIA'S STATISTICS
MAHMOOD ,   LONDON-UK   (03.29.09)
She left out the increase in the Iranian cement and petrochemical exports reported in the Western media not forgetting the gas supplies which is witnessing a rapid increase. However,in order to establish what is DECLINING in Iran, always refer to Cynthia as this would be good for the businessmen who may want to replace Iran in certain markets where Iran was dominating. All the best,Cynthis. What is your contact address for the businessmen?
