It is interesting that the EU is already threatening the new Israeli government, before it is even formed. Where is the threat to Hamas? Does any sane and fair-minded person believe that Israel can trust Hamas in any "peace deal"? The EU is operating from a position of fantasy!

Given Europe's history with Jews, they really need to tread lightly and very, very warily around Israel. That said, I suppose Israel could demand a two-state solution for the Spain and the Basque people. And a two-state solution for the Walloons and Flemands in Belgium. Israel could also demand that the six northern Ireland counties be restored to Ireland. And so on and so forth ad nauseum. Who the hell is the European Union to make demands upon Israel? Europe is one giant Jewish cemetery; have they forgotten that? Well, Israel should remind them. Actually -- I feel rather sorry for Western Europe. Every single member nation of the EU has a large, vocal and unrly, uncooperative Moslem population. My heart bleeds for poor, old Europe. The sooner they go the way of the woolly mammoth, the better. It'll happen, too -- 1.2 children per family among Europeans, and something like 7 children per family in the Moslem population. Couldn't happen to a nicer bunch of countries.

The EU is living in fantasyland. Not even the Palestinian Arabs are commited to a 2 state solution. So why isn't the EU threatening Hamas because they haven't come out in support of a 2 state solution.

The EU demands a 2 state solution. Well they already got their wish. In fact they got more than 2 states, they have 23 states. There's little Israel and then there is Egypt, Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, Iraq, Saudia Arabia, etc, etc. The EU is smart enough to know that the so called "2 state solution" is a code word for the eradication of Israel. And while they are out there making demands may be the EU should demand that Iran stop it's race for nuclear weapons and stop funding and training terrorist gangs. And while the EU is making demands maybe they should demand that the Arabs call off their genocidal war of annihilation against Israel and demand that the Arabs recognize the Jewish state. While they're at it maybe the EU should demand that the Moslems inside their own borders end their anti-Semitic violence.

Israel is not Czechoslovakia as Ariel Sharon said and is not about to capitulate to the Palestinians to appease some pompous Western politicians.Palestinians don't just want any state are not about to get one any time soon if they stick to their demands. Modern day Jews aren't going to roll over for a Europe soaked with Jewish blood.

Well even after the disengagement and two wars we see that no matter what Israel gives up the world is and will always be against us. And why shouldn;t they? A future Palestinian state would include Arab East Jerusalem as well as Gaza and a stop to the land grabbing and destruction of Palestinian homes on the West Bank. That shouldn't be too difficult. a concession. Should it?
