1. Palestinian official explains...
shadoil ,   jerusalem   (03.29.09)
Oh! Now I get it. They are humanitarians and want peace, thats why they shut down the youth orchestra. Now it all makes sense.
2. the palestinians
ghostq   (03.29.09)
r their own worst enemy, when finally someone among them give a hand in peace they lock and bann, that's is y there is no peace, their leaders anjoy recieving contribution money on the rest of the palestinians expense.
3. Transparent Hate
Robert ,   New Jersey, USA   (03.29.09)
Since when is historical fact a "political issue"?
4. Palestinian orchestra
Stan ,   United States   (03.29.09)
The worst possible thing, is that the societal conciseness of Palestinians has been systematically oppressed and dismantled, while, in reality they, silent intelligentsia are our true partners for peace. As long as Palestinians can admit that there was Holocaust, and their-then-leadership gave a helping hand, Israelis can admit that there was Nokba, and their leadership did that. Once we admit this -- we can start talking with mutual understanding... but then again, who am I kiddin'?
5. the only thing political is ...
disgusted jew ,   jm   (03.29.09)
the only thing political is the palestinian people's self-imposed hardship. next week on cnn: "israel disbands palestinian orchestra..." hey pals, just move on already! israel exists, we are amazing, we are thriving. we are not going anywhere. so, just move on already and STOP PUNISHING YOUR OWN CHILDREN!!
6. All 13 of you are heros for us. Take care.
Daniel ,   Israel   (03.29.09)
Untill you are on the other side of the fence; we have some hopes for peace.
7. Palestinian Official
Farouk ,   Jerusalem   (03.29.09)
This Palestinian official should be disbanded for being an idiot. Orchestra did a great thing, Kudos to them and play all over Israel, Palestine and the world
8. Holocaust Envy
Kyle ,   Southpark, CO, USA   (03.29.09)
They don't want to cut into their own personal victimhood by acknowledging that there was a real Holocaust, they prefer to focus on their phony "Nakba" which was created by their failure to destroy Israel.
9. Arabs of Haifa were not forced to leave
Golan ,   SL   (03.29.09)
In fact the Jewish leadership begged the Arabs of Haifa NOT to leave. This is one of Israel;s more stupid moments, up there with Oslo, and the disengagement. It also goes to show what nasty people we are dealing with, calling the holocaust a political issue. Ok Lef-twits where is your condemnation? Or does your mouth only open to condemn Jews?
10. Israel must do somethoing for this children ...
leo ,   USA   (03.29.09)
for I suspect ban may be least of their worries. I fear honor killings.
11. Ali Zeid, your grandparents lied to you
freejay ,   Israel   (03.29.09)
They were not forced to flee Haifa after '48.......that is pure propaganda!.......they left on their own choice, hoping the Arab armies would destroy Israel. They could of very easily just stayed there!! There is plenty of eye witnesses to prove that no Arabs were forced to leave HAifa....in fact the Jews begged them to stay!
12. Wtf ?why?
Palestinains ,   ME   (03.29.09)
Who makes such decisions. we Palestinains are governed by imature moronic people. What kind of decision is that? Are governed by kids?
13. the idea of that concert is NOT NOBLE at all
Alex ,   UK   (03.29.09)
..to capitalize again on equivalence between Holocaust and Palestinian "suffering". These musicians are used as pawns in PA's propaganda effort, aimed at downgrading and de-legitimizing Jewish presence in Palestine. Quite disgusting, actually. If I was one of them, I would emigrate.
14. Stan #4: the silent true partners for peace
Steve   (03.29.09)
How many true partners for peace do you think there are amongst the 'Palestinian' people? What percentage would you guess would live peacefully in a Jewish state? Polls reveal substantial majorities support suicide-homicide bombings in Israel targeting innocent Jews.
15. It's a hard trip from Jenin to Holon
roli ,   miami beach, USA   (03.29.09)
Apparently, its an even harder return trip. This tiny little group of kids and their conductor brought tears of empathy and gratitude to the eyes of Jews all over the world, but their politicians cannot see that through their bloody hatred and they cry foul on the only true goal that human beings can score... love. The kids in Jenin are already acting and singing like the wars are over. Its time for their grandparents to turn on their hearing aids and listen to what real independence sounds like.
16. Amazing, obuma and the EU want to grant a STATE to these guy
Bunnie Meyer ,   Los Angeles, CA USA   (03.29.09)
17.  daniel barenboim
I. Barr ,   USA   (03.29.09)
where is Daniel Barenboim the famous Palestinian conductor? Is it Israel fault?
18. shame on you, Adnan Hindi !
zabarbie ,   R   (03.29.09)
19. REFUGEES NEED NOT BE REFUGEES
ROLAND SEENER ,   LONDON ENGLAND   (03.29.09)
WITH HATRED ELLIMINATED THE REFUGEE PROBLEM COULD DISAPPEAR. HOWEVER P.A. FATEH AND HAMAS SEEM TO ENJOY THE FUTURE CONTINUED MYSERYOF THE ARAB MASSES.THIS JENIN ORCHESTRA FORCED DISBANDONMENT I HOPE IS THE HISTORICAL POINT OF THE YOUTH THAT QUESTIONS THEIR ARAB LEADERS MOTIVATION. TO REACH OUT FOR PEACE.THESE YOUNG PEOPLE WILL REMEMBER AND TELL THEIR FRIENDS AND RELATIVES.HATRED HAS IT"S LIMITS UNTIL THE ADRENALINE GLAND IS DEPLETED.WHEN "ENOUGH IS ENOUGH"AND INCITEMENT AGAINST THE TRUE CAUSE OF THEIR CALAMITIES MASS MILITANCY AGAINST THE STIFLING OF FREEDOM OF EXPRESSION OF WHERE THEIR SELF-SEEKING VAIN LEADERS HAVE GOT THEM WILL THERE BE CO-OPERATION AND A SOLVING OF THIS SURMOUNTABLE PROBLEM.IT IS NOT MONEY THAT IS NECESSARY,BUT THE DESIRE,THE CANCELLATION OF A HAND OF FRIENDSHIP,IS THE ARAB S BIGGEST BLUNDER.FOR " IF THIS BE THE MUSIC OF LOVE, THEN (THEY WILL) PLAY ON"
20. Bravo, Hamas!
(03.29.09)
It's not first time that you defeated your children! You were stronger then your women and children always! Keep going this way and your great victory will be more obvious!
21. Steve, #14: the silent partners for peace are shrinking
Stan ,   United States   (03.29.09)
Steve, my whole point is that Palestinian leadership has systematically destroyed its liberal pro-peace voices within their society through intimidation, incarceration, banishment and even murder. It is reminiscent of any authoritarian society.
22. Strings for Peace
Boaz Porter ,   Tel Aviv,Israel   (03.29.09)
Please tell Ms Waffa Younis that I have a nice violin to donate to her orchestra - and may she have the strength to carry on her wonderful effort to make a bridge for peace.
23. Terribly Sad Missed Oppurtunity and Bad Mis-Step by Abbas
Gad ben Shalom ,   Jerusalem   (03.29.09)
Hillary Clinton lecturednd the PA 3 Years ago for not taking out the "Hard-Core Hatred" of Jews in the School Text Books. She called it what it was "PURE CHILD ABUSE" She repeated it over and over and sent a Message to Abbas to change his hateful ways if he wanted the US Help & Peace. If he would have embraced this he would have been touted as the Leader in the Peace Process. But as Usual the Stupid Stinking Old Arab Boy Networkd misses another oppurtunity to Sieze the Moment. Which without a doubht makes it clear they want Nothing to do with Peace. I dearly hope Bibi reconizes this Clearly and pulls out of the idea of a 2-State Solution. The only solution is to re-occupy the West Bank or put it under Jordons control once again.
24. hate
Ilana   (03.29.09)
Only hate, white and blind, pure and deep, racism at its worst (well almost worst -well there is always worse...) can cause an arab to disband such a group. Do the words "Shame on you!!" say it all or is there no word to cover the emotion ?
25. Any mention of this on the BBC? CNN? The Guardian?
Tahl ,   Ashdod, Isreal   (03.30.09)
Somehow I doubt this news item would ever reach these places.
26. Arabs of Haifa left by choice, not forced out
Aaron ,   SF, USA   (03.30.09)
27. #25 Tahl; It's called "CNN Al-Jazeera"
Doug ,   Peoria, US   (03.30.09)
Tahl, It's not "CNN" anymore. It's called "CNN Al-Jazeera". Happy to inform you of the correction.
28. #25: Reuters, AP, NYT, CSM, USA Today, Fox did cover this
Me   (03.30.09)
but BBC, Guardian and CNN did NOT. There are about 230 Google hits. CBS, NBC, etc. got it from AP. The AP story also ran in various English-language papers in the Muslim world. Al Arabiya got it from Reuters. A few variations: http://www.google.com/hostednews/ap/article/ALeqM5jvEQGC-6Sphy0U4Jj5DDgCazGE0gD977RUJ00 http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=102480520 http://www.nytimes.com/2009/03/30/world/middleeast/30mideast.html?ref=middleeast http://features.csmonitor.com/globalnews/2009/03/29/after-playing-for-holocaust-survivors-palestinian-youth-orchestra-faces-backlash/ http://www.alarabiya.net/articles/2009/03/29/69524.html

30. Not surprising
Brod ,   USA   (03.30.09)
Land or no land the Islamist-Jihadists are soaked in their Islamist-Jihadist cesspool of hate, violence, aggression, destruction and world domination. Israel must be vigilant against these dark forces at all times.
