1. Everyone talks about 'extortion' then does it
Ilan ,   Ariel   (03.31.09)
Labor, Yisrael Beiteinu and Shas are the guilty addresses in all this. They demanded cabinet posts, money for their pet projects, and the Likud was left little choice but to accede to these demands. And Kadima would have done the same. This is a government that is headed by a party that agreed to a lobotomy and gave up it's principles along with the ability to set the policy.
2. Millions of dollars wasted to buy a goverment
Eric ,   Tel Aviv   (03.31.09)
Bibi is buying his time in power and it will cost the Israeli public Millions of dollars (not Shekels) as he has to pay for: - Large Government - Each minister gets 100's of NIS per year plus staff, plus office, plus perks, plus security, plus, plus, plus - Shas requirement for large family payments - Shas requirement to pay Yeshiva boys who do you serve in the army - etc. So much for a fiscally responsible government in this time of world wide economic crisis.
3. for the most part NOBODY ever speaks up for anything.
JMK ,   NY   (03.31.09)
Human beings are social animals with a hierarchal dominant submissive social structure, it is to challenge society to even say anything with the strength of conviction and help of your own circle of supporters, you can see this in any social group of primates, like chimps and gorillas and our IQ's are not much higher that applies especially to politicians.
4. olmert going home
marcel   (03.31.09)
Israel will take some time to recover from ehud olmert' damage to israel. May he go to jail and suffer there. Olmert will know no joy. His friends will shun him. He will be disbarred. Israeli politicians will ignore him. His wife will be angry with him for a long time when she really learns that he ripped off holocaust charities. His family too will know no joy. Only the media of haaretz will show up at his speech. A fitting end to a miserable prime minister.
5. Kadmon is likely the only person that doesn't understand why
redbourn ,   tel aviv   (03.31.09)
Everybody I know understands that Bibi had no alternative but to have so many ministers if he was going to form a coalition. This seems so obvious that one can only ask how Sima Kadmon fails to understand it. Livni would not have made similar offers and would not have been able to form a coalition. If Bibi hadn't, then Lieberman would now be trying to form a coalition and he would have formed a coalition and would have had as many ministers as Bibi has. It's called 'horse trading' and is common in all democracies. Mike
6. Change the system
Zev Taff ,   Kfar Vradim, Israel   (03.31.09)
We, the public have heard enough grandiose declarations about the need to change the system of electing our government representatives. The time to change this self destructive system is long over-due. Hopefully Mr. Lieberman and company will act on their words. Time is unfortunately running out.
7. IF BIBI KEEPS THE LAND HE'S A HERO
Petra ,   USA   (04.01.09)
OTHERWISE, HE'S A BONEHEAD LOSER.
