1. So much the 'peace with Egypt'.
Matthias Roth ,   Switzerland   (04.03.09)
Egypt got all of the Sinai with its oil fields, tourist resorts back along with recognition and financial support of the US. Israel got a piece of paper!
2. If he doesn't want to shake Lieberman's
Joe ,   Ohio, USA   (04.03.09)
hand Lieberman will find something else for him to shake!
3. Overbloated Egyptian ego and hypocrisy.
Tahl ,   Ashdod, Israel   (04.03.09)
The Egyptians are quick to get offended whenever an Israeli merely hints that Egypt is out of line. They never know how to accept criticism, yet on the other hand - they freely and caustically criticize Israel all the time, and often their media portrays Israeli leaders in a very virulent and monstrous manner, yet the Egyptian politicians never utter a word of apology or criticism against that. Lieberman hurt Egypt's pride and honor? Give me a f...king break. There was absolutely nothing in what Lieberman said in his speech, which was disparaging to Egypt. Since when is asking for reciprocity from Egypt, considered an offense? Typical Egyptian hypocrisy and hystria.
4. Lieberman has only one face but Aboul Gheit has two!
Tayfun_Turkey ,   Istanbul   (04.03.09)
Lieberman is giving impression of more honest hatemonger contrary to hypocrisy of zionist politicians including Zionist slave egyptian FM Aboul Gheit. I am not sure if Lieberman is a zionist at all despite he sounds harsh and hostile
5. How do you say "a pompouse turkey" in Arabic?
Ariel ,   Europe   (04.03.09)
6. Then lead by example!
withheld ,   copenhagen, Denmark   (04.03.09)
I think this is why the Middle East is at a stand still. No one wants to lead by example. So does Egypt disagree with the policies of the new government? What parts of Lieberman's speech does Egypt find so "insulting"? Nothing concrete is given. All we get is an emotional unspecified reaction, most certainly fueled by presumptious notions of Israel's "turn to the right".
7. Insults to Egypt?
Frank ,   Canada   (04.03.09)
So, asking Muslim supremacists for reciprocity is an insult?
8. The Arabs and their false sense of pride again
(04.03.09)
What a crybaby is this Egyptian Foreign Minister! Are we supposed to indulge or humor him because he and his fellow Arabs have such low self-esteem? He should take his pride and swallow it till it comes flying out his rear end.
9. Egyptian pride
(04.03.09)
The Egyptians complain about suffering in Gaza, but enforce a blockade that prevents the poor people from escaping. The Egyptians supply Hamas with weapons to attack Israel, and then supply Israel with intelligence to bomb Hamas. Why exactly are the Egyptians proud?
10. Looking into his eyes while keeping a hand in the pocket
Alex   (04.03.09)
may send the wrong signal. Might turn out to be difficult to play down rumors of a "special" relationship.
11. Pride and Dignity?
Goliath   (04.03.09)
As a slave and dog of Israel, Egypt (the formal political leaders led by Mubarak, not the people) have no pride and dignity in the eyes of Muslims all over the world. If you want to recover your pride and dignity, show your first good will - open the Rafah crossings.
12. # 5,,,you say genocidal armenian killing machine
Arman ,   Yerevan   (04.03.09)
opium smoking ,soon to be in the 7th century again...thats Turkey.
13. ISRAEL peace treaty with EGYPT in NOT worthless!
BG ,   USA   (04.03.09)
ISRAEL NEVER RECEIVED ANY ADVANTAGE WITH PEACE WITH EGYPT. ISRAEL GAVE UP THE SINAI !
14. Gaza hell maybe he meant
ShaaLan J ALDhafiri ,   KSA   (04.03.09)
he can go to hell," and the hell will be in GAZA unfourtunitly ,,, this is impolite political saying. but with Liberman seems very polite. Eygept never give hamas weapons to No.9
15. What the Egyptian thinks he is G-d ?
ben ,   singapore   (04.03.09)
Lieberman RUBS SALT on their faces on the REALITY of the CURRENT CRISIS. These Egyptians, Americans Obama Govt , EU ans Arabs want a TURMOIL in Israel MORE for they need these platforms to stay in the LIGHT oF the iNTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY and PROJECT AS BIG BROTHERS- DIRTY POLITICS !!!!!! THEY PLAY DIRTY POLITICS ON YISRAEL TO PULL THE EYES OF THE PUBLIC FROM THE BLUNDERS THEY MADE IN THEIR OWN COUNTRY. REVERSE PSYCO IN POLITICS and PUBLIC RELATIONS DAMAGE CONTROL TACTIC is A TOOL used by POLITICIANS in this cRISIS ! Lieberman been speaking against their plots, putting the Israeli Interest FIRST. These day when you SPEAK UP the TRUTH you get pressed. Obviously that is what happening now. Liberman thanks :-) As a citizen of the state he ha sthe right to fundemetal freedom of speech and the ministarial excecutive right to exception to colective responsbility on matter concerning the SURVIVAL OF ISRAEL. PLEASE SUPPORT HIM !
16. I will not shake Lieberman’s hand either
SarahSue ,   USA   (04.03.09)
Instead, I will give him a big hug and tell him that there are a lot of Americans that agree with him. Keep up the good work.
17. When the Time comes he even will kiss his feet.......
Asher ,   Ny,USA   (04.03.09)
18. He has no choice
(04.03.09)
Or he say sorry or he will stay at home .... this time he fall wrong .
19. #1 We also got natural gas and a strategic ally
Aharon   (04.03.09)
Stop your whining. Territory obtained through conquest is not our. Considering that, the peace treaty we signed was certainly in our interests: it removed Egypt as a threat for the foreseeable future, gave us access to natural gas below market prices, and gave us an important strategic partnet who, if hostile to us, would have been able to arm Gaza to the teeth (and don't tell me that Egypt arms Hamas, because that's crap).
20. the biggest looser gheit
josh ,   usa   (04.03.09)
his country will never forget his treason and israel will never thank him . napoleon is right
21. Muslims, Arabs get real offended when infidel Jews talk back
Raymond in DC ,   Washington, USA   (04.03.09)
Once one understands this, the Arab and Muslim attitudes toward Jews and Israel becomes quite clear. Jews are supposed to "submit", to know their place. When Jews show them up economically, militarily, and technologically it's cognitive dissonance on steroids. They just can't deal with it. Everything then becomes an offense, a humiliation. To put it another way, Gheit can go to hell too. Israel can't want a good relation more than does Egypt.
22. Oh no! Egypt has been insulted! AND ISRAEL HASN'T??
David ,   Hartford USA   (04.03.09)
The USA, Britain, Australia, etc, get insulted every minute of every day by just about the rest of the planet and life doesn't come to screeching halt because of it. Who gives a damn what he said! Some was hyperbole and some was factual- which did Gheit take insult to?? The two of you should take off your jackets and ties and sit down and have a cup of coffee. If you two would each stop trying to be 'holier-than-thou' and would simply talk about the issues, maybe we'd get someplace! I think a great nation like Egypt, one that's been on the block for 5,000 years, will ignore this 'insult' as a duck ignores water on its back. Time to sit down and figure out how to be neighbors, good neighbors.
23. How petty, he should be proud for
ME ,   USA   (04.03.09)
Himself and Egypt now, because frankly the minister Is acting like a child. LEADERS? Pretty sad.
24. The handshake
Ariel Ben Yochanan ,   Kfar Tapuah   (04.03.09)
B"H Let's not forget that the very handshake Egyptian Foreign Minister Ahmed Aboul Gheit is now about to withhold from us was not promised to us free of charge. Insane Israeli politicians, Begin and Sharon, bought it in March 1982 by giving them Sinai, our G-d given biblical Jewish Land and with the destruction of all Jewish Life there, as requested. Sounds familiar? Well, then let's remember Yamit and let's say to Egypt that either you shake both our hands and kiss them or we take Sinai, our holy Land, back!
25. Egypt has a much improved military capable of turning ...
Robert Bernier ,   Tel Aviv   (04.03.09)
Egypt has a much improved military capable of turning hostile words into hostile deeds. Although Israel has a peace agreement with Egypt, that country has continued to reject implementation of virtually all the “normalization” provisions that were part of the Camp David peace accords, and Egyptian government-controlled media are even more incessant and more rabid in their anti-Israel and indeed anti-Semitic drumbeat than they were before the “peace” agreement. The Mubarak regime still finds it useful to deflect domestic discontent by focusing public attention on supposed external threats and by demonizing Israel and, in fact, the United States as well. An inevitable consequence has been intense public hostility in Egypt toward both nations. In addition, Egypt has a much improved military capable of turning hostile words into hostile deeds. Yet Israeli officials are silent on all of this and insist on characterizing Egypt as a “moderating force” vis-à-vis the Arab-Israeli conflict. We should be prepared as explained at : http://xrl.us/biz8x
26. G'D OF ISRAEL HARDENED PHAROAHS HEART.
PERFECT TIMING ,   TO REMEMBER, PESACH   (04.03.09)
LIEBERMAN STAND STRONG G'D WILL AGAIN BLESS ISRAEL AGAIN I say because Israelis have been failing the test. THANK YOU, DACON9
27. Lieberman has some big cajones...
Aaron ,   SF, USA   (04.03.09)
...finally an Israeli leader with some brass.
28. This could be the start of something good....
(04.03.09)
Go Lieberman.
29. # 22 David
(04.03.09)
Actually I was hoping you would suggest they take off their jackets and ties and fight it out. That way, Lieberman (having been a nightclub bouncer in a previous incarnation), could have beaten the you-know-what out of the pompous, whining Egyptian FM.
30. How do you say "nightclub bouncer" in Russian ?
Michael ,   Haifa   (04.03.09)
