smuglling weapons, and weapons in general is the source of all the problems, that's how the blockad started, and of course the main weapon provider Iran.

36. Zohan - read between the lines
ZISD   (04.05.09)
Zohan - the whole article relates to how the Egyptians are purposefully ignoring the arms smuggling. This can obviously only be due to ideology, money, or both. The author is making the same point that you are. What biased message are you inferring??

42. re #8: israeli planes over the red sea
Tobias ,   Germany   (04.07.09)
JB, you wrote: "yet by looking at the geography, fighter jets passing over the red sea would have been picked up by egyptian radar." well, not necessarily ... for example, in July 1976, four heavy cargo machines of the IAF passed the red sea on their way to Entebbe in Uganda, without being spottted by enemy radar (Saudi, Jordanian, Egypt, or Sudan). Nine years before that, on June 5th, 1967, almost all of the IAF fighter planes appeared in Egypt without being noticed on radar on their way. So, if some IAF pilots can fly a C-130 cargo plane close enough to the red sea surface to avoid detection, its probably also possible with a fighter plane.
