1. You have that backwards ....
Sarah ,   New York City, USA   (04.07.09)
The Palestinians need to understand the Israeli perspective. Sixty years of violence and terror. Six wars (all won by Israel, by the way). Twenty years of suicide bomb attacks. Eight years of missile barrages. Bulldozer attacks. IED devices. Attacks upon Israeli military patrols. No. I'm not interested in a Palestinian perspective. We won all the wars; why should they be allowed to dictate any terms? Right. They shouldn't. No more so than Germany or Japan did following World War II. Enough is enough; in fact. it is far too much, has gone on far too long and needs to stop now. The Palestinians will get whatever Israel may generously allow. Or not, as the case may be. The Arabs have brought war and terror to the region -- which is ongoing -- and it is not the place of the United States to reward them for the vast scale of Arab misbehavior. And if Obama doesn't like it -- well, tough. He sets the standard in Washington; not Jerusalem.
2. ME: See the Indians perspective!?
shimon ,   Occupied Manhattan   (04.07.09)
Give America lands to the real owners - the Indians !! Somebody hijacked the White - House
3. No on a Palestinian State Mr. Obama

4. this dog is dangerous, it bites everyone
david   (04.07.09)
stay away from erratic behavior
5. Finally, Obama right. (sort of)
Brad ,   USA   (04.07.09)
This is regarding the "compromise" required on both sides. The missing element is that Israel has done nothing but compromise, and the so called "palestinians" have done nothing but make demands. So, even though Obama finally approaches truth, it is worthless.
6. Terrorism must stop prior to any agreement
Vardina   (04.07.09)
7. What about stopping Muslem Terrorism first?
Vardina   (04.07.09)
8. Failing the test of history
Robert Bernier ,   Tel Aviv   (04.07.09)
Israel's enemies have always wished to destroy it, of course, but what's new this time is that they are avoiding the set-piece battles that lost them all previous wars, and are instead elaborating the tactics of terror. Islamist Iran has made itself the driving force. The terrorist movements Hizbullah and Hamas are both Iranian satellites, and their presence on Israel's borders ensures that Iran can already engage in terrorism on its own terms and at times of its own choosing. There's a civilizational dimension to it as well: Science and technology have hitherto given Western states their supremacy over the Muslim world. As Iran moves toward possession of the nuclear weapon, this historic advantage is neutralized. A nuclear-armed Iran will be able to promote terror at state level, changing the balance of forces as never before against the West in general and Israel in particular. But for the Arabs living today in Judea, Samaria and Gaza, ongoing failure to achieve statehood reflects the ultimate indicator in determining that, indeed, they do not deserved statehood as described at : http://xrl.us/bj3vi
9. Really #1?
shadoil ,   Jerusalem   (04.07.09)
Try telling that to the Senate Finance and Foreign Aid Committee.
10. Two Sides
Nili ,   Jerusalem   (04.07.09)
Mr. BO should get some glasses. I see the other side and it is full of hatred and death. Any people that hate enought to strap a bomb on the bodies of their children do not want peace. If BO gets his way the muslim world will be happy for sure because Israel will be wiped out.
11. True leader
zion22 ,   USA   (04.07.09)
I couldnt be happier that Obama is putting pressure on Netanyahu to make peace. A true friend to Israel is not someone who panders to their every desire but someone who understands from an outside perspective when mistakes are being made to the detriment of the nation and pushes for reform. There is a need for a two state solution to safeguard a Jewish state, and to give the Palestinians in the West Bank the rights that they deserve. Obama is right, see the perspective of the other side so that peace can finally be acheived- that goes for Arabs and Jews. Stop being blinded by fear and hatred and take a bold step towards peace. We've been so close so many times and things have always stopped due to terrorism, fear, and lack of leadership. Prior to peace with Egypt no one thought the day would come when Israel and Egypt would not be at war. Now the same situation exists with the Palestinians... Kol Hakavod L'Barack Obama. Am Yisrael Chai!
12. ". . two sides to every question." Yeah, right B.O. but only
Eversight   (04.07.09)
one correct answer. Unless, of course, double standards, ulterior motives, and dual loyalties come into play...
13. While we´re at it, let´s reverse Australia´s history too
Mongo ,   Paris   (04.07.09)
and see things throught ehy Aborigene´s perspective. For good measure we should also fight for Japan´s Ainu´s self-determination as well. Let´s also return Northern Ireland back to the Irish.
14. Sarah, whta are you doing in the USA?
christopher columbus ,   NY. USA   (04.07.09)
If you have all this rhetoric about your land...what are doing in US... Get the first plane to Zion !
15. Stop supporting Israel, Obama!
Brad ,   USA   (04.07.09)
Stop sending them financial aid, stop helping them advance weaponry, stop supplying them and providing then relieving military aid: after 2nd Lebanon war, Israel got military help in 1 billion dollar worth. They do not care what they sign! They signed Oslo, they signed Annapolis and still they do not want to execute terms they signed! Stop their aid - and you will see how quickly they will recognize Palestine as second state. NEVER in their history Jews existed alone, and as self sufficient! It is a myth - they have to trade and they have to interact with non-Jews to survive. So, cut their trade and interaction to force them to stick to their word.
16. Who said that peace was ever viable for humans in the first
Steven Wilson ,   Anchorage, Alaska   (04.07.09)
place? Suppose humans were like every other bacteria or virus. Survival is the only option. Peace is just a bi-product of the survival mode, that leads us into endless wars over varying periods of human history. Occasionally there is a lull between wars. Peace is a fantasy like clean linen. Someones always gotta wash the stinky sheets after the war ends. Wishing for it doesn't make it real. Rome should have clued Obama into that charade. Peace is in the best interest of a countries financial viability....nothing less....nothing more. War is inevitable over a given period of time.
17. If the Palestinians want a state of their very own...
Kyle ,   Southpark, CO, USA   (04.07.09)
They could have declared a state 15 years ago, and it would be recognized by more countries than currently recognize Israel. The reality is THEY DO NOT WANT their own state. They want the Jews' state.
18. We Have, Genius: The Only Good Jew Is A Dead One
David H ,   Marietta USA   (04.07.09)
I hope the American Jewish community that elected this anti-Semitic Marxist are satisfied with themselves. Hey Hezbollah: Hope And Change You Can Believe In!
19. The Palestinian perspective is this...
BJL ,   usa   (04.07.09)
Israel is illegitimate...A cancer in the Islamic world that needs to be removed. Not just Schem or Hebron but Jaffa, Haifa, Beersheba AND TEL AVIV. That is their perspective....now what is to negotiate Dear Leader Obama?
20. Obama more dangerious than Carter. Watch your back Israel.
USA   (04.07.09)
No Jews, No Israel anywhere of any size, shape or form. This is the view of the Palestinians and most Arabs regimes and the US government knows this and shares their view. I hope my fellow Jews in Israel understands that this man's policies towards Israel will be worse than those of Jimmy Carter. Take unilateral actions to disingage and secure your borders without Americans or Palestinians.
21. Of course Obamanation sides with Arabs
Rivkah ,   Israel   (04.07.09)
Of course his is from Arab bloodlines. Blood id thicker than water they say. www.yeshabulletin.com
22. #1 Sarah
(04.07.09)
You need to see a psycjhiatrist.
23. It's not about seeing perspectives, dear leader...
Joe ,   Ramat Gan   (04.07.09)
It's about digging through all the rhetoric and BS to uncover and embrace historical and human truths, as politically uncorrect as they may be. The truths I speak of are that a Palestinian state will be a Baathist thugocracy at best and an Islamic theocracy at worst. It will be a disaster for human rights, surpassing whatever criticism you could throw at the "Israeli Occupation". President Obama, cancel Palestine and create peace. Thanks for listening...
24. Sarah #1
Mitch S. ,   USA   (04.07.09)
Brava... I couldn't have said it better myself!
25. # 15 Brad
eddie ,   brooklyn, ny   (04.07.09)
You seem like a smart person with foolishness in your head... in case you havent realized, Jews do all the sending of money to Israel...
26. #23-(smiles)-Your welcome Joe.

27. To: No. 14

I live in Israel six months of the year; in the United States the remaining six months.
28. Jimmy Carter repeated
Mahlon Drumgoole ,   Newark NJ   (04.07.09)
The vast majority of Israelis want nothing more than a permanent and sinc ere peace with the Palestinians. For this, they are willing to give up territory and make compromises that will be difficult and controversial. In contrast, Palestinians are taught to regard Jews as monsters. After all of this brainwashing, Arabs hand out candy when Jewish children are brutally murdered as was the 13 year old boy by a Palestinian with an ax. Once again, it is the moral relativism of the pseudo-intellectuals of the left.
29. obviously an anti semite (not)
avramele   (04.07.09)
He is obviously an anti semite because he believes in a two state solution and dialogue he is obviously an anti semite because he believes American policy should not be subservient to the rantings of Yvet Lieberman He is obviously an anti semite because he surrounds himself with Jews...always a tell He is obviously an anti semite because he insists on a negotiated solution and not one imposed by Israeli might He is obviously an anti semite because anyone who disagrees with any given one of our people is by definition an anti semite
