Its not an economic recovery its an illusion.
This image of recovery is based on a huge increase in national debt, we are trying to borrow our way to an image of recovery but all debts need to be paid eventualy & with interest.
Its like a credit card you can buy a tv with the plastic & you look at your bank statement no money has left it.
Now you have a tv & your bank balance hasn't changed it looks like something for nothing but come the end of the month you have to pay for that tv in real terms through your credit card.
These figures also don't take into account the extra economic damage done when all those people are laid off.
They don't have the money to spend on keeping other businesses afloat and they are relying on welfare to get by.
Its true the economy was growing in real terms during the good times as was every other westernised country but as always the good times come to en end eventually.
This isn't though showing any signs of turing into an 80s style depression.
One thing is for sure though and at this point we can't afford the peace process because there huge cost involved to pay for it.
The Gaza evacuation alone cost over $1 billion & on top of that at least half of those made refugees are still not in permanent. Accomodation and we havn't been able to pull 8000 jobs out of thin air so they are not spending & living off welfare so they are probably costing us more billions.
Also there is all the extra money thats having to be spent on security.
Operation Cast Lead cost around $2 billion and that operation came about as a result of the Gaza withdrawl.
Now add to that many hundred of thousands more people loosing their homes and all those extra jobs lost.
The Syria deal we don't even need for security will mean making 30,000 jews homeless & unemployed.
How are we going to pay the bills for that, the US certainly won't be paying it considering they are up to their necks in debt.
Even with the huge increase in national debt we will be putting ourselves into & all the extra jobs lost that will increase in a huge way with a deal with Syria alone.
Add the palestinians & the current economic problems to that we are going to be in depression for years.
Real term economic melt down all in the name of the peace process.
