If they can not sing the Israel's anthem,they do not belong to Israel.Any doubt?

Rivlin is correct that no one can be forced to sing the national anthem. Rivlin is wrong in justifying the Um El Fahem race riots. A few weeks ago, the Arabs of Um El Fahem decided to declare the city off-limit to Jews, bringing back memories of Alabama and South African apartheid. When some Jews tried to enter the city, they tried to murder the Jews while waving the flags of the racist organizations Hezbolla and Hamas.

since nothing good came out of that vilige, y don't declare them as palestinian teritory, they don't want israel they will get palestinian athority, simple logic, they won't need to bother about the anthem anymore, or job places or anything from Israel.

I don't give a crap whether or not they sing Hatikvah. In fact, leftist Jews are unable to often muster the words. HOWEVER, there must be NO excuses, nor any places to hide, for those who attempt to undermine Israel as a JEWISH state. IF Rivlin is not a coward he will make sure that the islamist leaders understand exactly ! what such subversion means. I disagree totally with Lieberman on transferring ANY Israeli city over to the Arabs. That is an outrageous plan. The rest of his platform has much merit.

You do not have to be Jewish to respect the Jewish spirit. If you live in London, you have to respect the British spirit, if you live in New York you have to respect the American spirit and if you live in Israel, you have to respect the Jewish spirit. Do Muslims in Europe shun the flag and anthem of their host country as well or is it a disrespect mostly directed at Israel's Jewishness. You do not have to be a Jew to respect Jewish spirit, Rivlint but you do have to respect the Jewishness of the state of Israel to be accepted and treated as equals. Respect goes both ways.

Sadly, Rivlin, like others (including but not limited to Sharon/Scheinermann, Netanyahu, Arens, Aumann, Landau, Lewis, Liberman, Sharansky and Bogey Ayalon) who were held in the highest of esteem for loving the land that protects you, seems to have regressed to an atavistic state wherein he now demands that you pay those who come to kill you from the peninsular homeland of their own name with your blood and your land sewn with it for the purpose of making those of you that remain to be made even more vulnerable in your land that you remain on. Instead of a humane and practical course of action, action justified morally and historically, action that would remove the threat, he demands that those that come to kill you NOT to have their right of return back to their homicidal Hamite peninsular homeland of their own name. That would be the most humane since you won't have to kill them when they come to kill you. But NOOOO! he demands that they remain to klll you. After all if you aren't forced to "coexist" in your land, the only way for them to threaten is from outside your land and that would diminish the threat to such an extent that you would have to focus on the enemies, erev rav within you, sadly, like Rivlin.

Zionism is dying, jews are becoming more and more secular and a growing number are more interested in the easy life than the idea of a jewish state. We have been trying to be attempt so hard over the years on making peace with the arabs we have allowed them to wear us down at every level. The palestinians we keep crossing red line after red line, we are even compromising on the refugee issue now talking about allowing hundreds of thousands a right of return Once the palestinians get what they want the arabs in Israel will see it as a sign of motivation and will start trying to gradually wear away the layers of the jewish state idea until we decide ok lets have a binational state to keep peace have an easy life. We need more Libermans with nationalist attitudes, its the only way to save the idea of a jewish state. The biggest mistake diaspora jews made over the centuries and now more than ever which is causing intermarrige and judaism adopting christian ideas has been this attempt to be like everybody else ( good naigbors & acceptance ). When you try to hard to be accepted for what you are then eventually you loose your own identity and adopt theirs because its the only way you can fit in. We need to be more demanding of all politicians, if they want to sit in the Knesset they must swear loyalty to Israel as a jewish state. Unless we adopt values that reflect the idea of Israel as a jewish state the arabs and slowly more and more jews as they become more secular will stop thinking of it as that. We also need a constitution spesificly stating that Israel is a jewish state and what its flag and anthem should be. Written constitutions are the only way a country can keep its identity because political attitudes change over time, without a legal document that the country stands for that country risks loosing identity and becoming something it was never meant to be. Its also the only way to garuntee political stability.

Oh, please here in America we held out our hands to all sorts of people ..Jews, Asians, Arbs, people of all sorts.. and we are beter for it. You strive to be a friend of America, but you ensue American values. I didn't realize, you don't like our values, you have your own. You very narrow, pinched values of what is yours, and certainly not theirs. Oh, for same, you lost your way.

With such attitudes, Israel looks doomed. But G-d has other plans. We, in the U.K., live with similar attitudes: some people wanting all the privileges but none of the responsibilities. Unfortunately for us, the U.K. does not have the guarantee of survival that Israel possesses. Long live Israel.

I think that if these arabs can not accept Israel,they must leave,and not us to leave our land to them.This is an anomaly. They can be given incentives by EU,US ,UN and Arab countries to go and live among those they are proud of singing their anthems. I just hope Lieberman is going to show this new point of view,a point that does mean PEACE!

I seem to remember that during that run of bus bombings a lot of them were coming out of Umm al-Fahm. Am I correct in this?

American individuals may be friends to Israel but the political establishment is gradually becoming more and more anti Israel more pro arab since the end of the Cold War. Today there is no Soviet dominated Middle East and America needs cheap arab oil not a strong ally. The Obama adminstration especially has turned America into more of a political enemy rather than ally. The US has announced that despite Israel demanding that the palestinians recognise Israel as a jewish state before talks begin as far as the US is concerned that clause doesn't matter. Israel flatly rejected the saudi plan then Obama returned from bowing down to saudi royalty and anounced that America was now going to adopt it and that means signing Israel up to out even if we dont want it. Nationalistic values & a constiution are the main reasons why even after 200 years despite all the assimilation American values havn't changed much. Israel doens't ask for loyatly to the state & has no constiution meaning that dominant politcal attitudes of the time decide the countries identity.

citizens of a country, any country, including Israel, respect the country's laws, government institutions, government servants and the symbols of the state. Every country on earth, every nation-state worldwide has minorities. It is required of the state to treat those members of a minority group equally as individuals as all other citizens, which Israel does. And it is the role of the members of the minority groups to respect the state in which they are citizens. Sadly, the leadership of the Muslim-Arabs of Israel have no respect towards the state of Israel, the nation-state of the Jewish people, and call openly to wipe it off the face of earth. This is unacceptable!!!
