I think that the pardon of many militants was one of the big successes of past negotiations. I'm against going soft on killers for the sake of it, however, many in the PA are no hardcore terrorists and so should be given the chance to reform like everybody else. Those that break the deal can still be rounded up again and dealt with as before. - The majority however were happy to return to a regular job and family life not dominated by being on the run and Israel should be proud of it's compassion and the fact that in most cases the gesture worked as intended, benefiting both sides in the long run.
