1. Be proud to be Jewish
cas reader   (04.20.09)
Jewish unity can be strengthen by using our right to free speech. We stand together against racism and anti-semitism. There is no need to hide one's Jewish identity. We stand proud and God blesses us always.

Thanks teach. Best wishes, and see you next winter.
3. Anti-Semitism is allarming in Hungary!
Gabriel ,   Budapest, Hungary   (04.20.09)
The day before Budapest March of the Living, holocaust deniers were allowed to protest in the Castle District and show sympathy for Nazi Germany by demonstrating at the German Embassy. JOBBIK, the extreme right-wing party abuses freedom of speech in an unacceptable way. Hungarian courts never condemn anti-Semitic and neo-hungarist rallies. The US and Israel should pressure the new Hungarian government to finally do something!

nonetheless, I cancelled my membershit in Munich´s Jewish community and I am glad that nowadays a Jew is only a person who practices Judaism. Thus I am not a Jew. So aren´t my parents. None of them knows anything about Judaism and what being a Jew is all about. In fact, most Israelis are not really Jews, above all the Russians Ashkenazis. And to the dismay of all those fanatic religious Jews I know, my future wife probably won´t be Jewish either; Who is a Jew anyway? I still don´t get it. Some people say Jews are defined by ancestry, some claim Jews are defined by religious beliefs...whatever :)
5. The left and the Jewish state.
Dave Ronen ,   Haifa   (04.20.09)
Anti-Semitic leaders have disguised their appeal to base instinct by pretending that they are actually appealing to sublime aspirations. In the case of the Nazis for instance, Adolf Hitler and Josef Goebbels appealed to Germanic pride and love for the Fatherland. Today, the Left appeals to people's aspirations for peace and justice. In their obsession they preach that only by permitting and indeed enabling Jews to die and the Jewish state to be destroyed that "peace" can be secured and the Palestinians can receive "justice." Israel should not hide its head in the sand. Consult : http://xrl.us/otzko

It is really sad that Europe that has exterminated 6 million Jews is still the hub of Miso-Judaism. It is really sad that the European Jews still live in Europe and haven't moved. Be strong, be proud, stay alert, the change is coming! http://israelactnow.blogspot.com/

TO IGOR, "I cancelled my membership, etc etc." No great lost - you don't sound like much of an asset to the Jewish community anyway. If you're interested, there are plenty of ways you can educate yourself about Judaism. If you're not, well as I said, no great loss.
8. Igor , WRONG and bye bye

Practising religious Jews are ONLY a PART of the Jewish PEOPLE . Being Jewish is not only believing or praying . I never was a believing Jew , but a Jew from head to toe . My children went to a Jewish school in Europe for 15 years and finally we all made Alyah . With your name , Igor , who sounds very Russian , you are a part of those in Israel you say are'nt Jewish . They at least don't deny , for many if not most of them , being Jewish . With your ideas you leaving our people will not be felt as a loss by us , you were certainly NOT part of us .

A Jew is anyone born of a Jewish mother or converted to Judaism in accordance with Jewish law (Halacha). A Jew is always a Jew whether or not he or she practices Judaism. There is no greater honor than to be a Jew. Jews are a kind or royalty, the descendants of Princes, Prophets and Priests. It is from the Jewish People that the Messiah will come.

when israel takes out the Iranian nuclear program and coupled with the economic mess in europe there will be widespread rioting in the streets by left wing anachists and extreme muslims .and a break down of law and order in Israel there is a wall and the Israeli army to protect the Jews in europe there is none

Well, I am not leaving "the people". I have also never denied to be of Jewish origin, but I just do not feel Jewish. What is it to be Jewish? Only at the age of 7 or 8 I think have I found out that I am a Jew, yet that did not make any difference to me. I have not started to think I am something different from all the other people I know. Then, at the age of 20 I began to study the history of Israel and the Jewish people, just out of interest. I was kind of fascinated by all the achievements of the people and the State of Israel, I do understand all the hardships the Jewish people went through. My parents told me stories of ancestors who struggled through life just because they were Jewish. But I just do not feel part of it. I did not go through any hardships, I lead a peaceful life with a relatively high standard of living in a central European country.. I am part of this society, nobody even cares whether I am a Jew or not. I also have a German surname (actually Jewish, ancestors are from the Austro-Hungarian empire). Thus I do not experience any kind of discrimination. I do not have any Russian accent. I am fully integrated in this society. Of course that does not make me forget about what Germans did in the past. I also studied German history a lot. No German could be proud of his/her country, even nowadays. But being Jewish does not make me anyhow special, nor do I get any benefits from it. I do respect people who pray regularly and practice their religion peacefully, yet I hate those people who demand benefits or preferential treatment just because they claim to be part of some ethnic group (whether Jews or Roma or whatever). Do you know what "ethnic Jews" do here in Germany? They all come from the former USSR, receive welfare benefits and many of them do not even intend to learn the language of the country or to find a job. Well, and those are Jews? No, those are social scroungers. Real Jews I know regularly attend prayers, study the Thora. Even I went to a Synagogue for a couple of times, but I had to realize this is nothing for me.

The Jewish community does not need any "assets". Most members of the Jewish community in Germany are people seeking welfare, people who want to avoid military service or people who want to have preferential treatment in various aspects of life. This Jewish community has nothing to do with Judaism at all. You know I went to a synagogue several times and there were hardly any Jews who were there for the real purpose: praying. Most of them came after the prayer to eat the free food served after the Shabbat. This is terrible! I do not know what it is like in Israel, but the Jewish communities in Germany are a joke.

You don't feel Jewish , that's one . Secondly you see a part of the Jews in Germany with the same eyes antisemites do . Tell me , sincerely : if you were entitled to some benefits , would'nt you take them ? Those who take benefits have maybe lost a vast quantity of family members in the Shoa , and think that todays Germans have to pay for the crimes comitted by their grand parents . Not learn German ? The elderly probably , the same as in Israel . You don't feel Jewish , so why go to a Synagogue , it's not a place for you . They don't need you either .
