1. Legitimate???
B-Money ,   NOLA, USA   (04.21.09)
The leader of Iran can say whatever he wishes, this doesn't change the facts. Having a Swiss delegate present doesn't legitimize anything. Israel must come to terms with the fact that not everyone will agree with its views and the facts. Hopefully people will be able to decide for themselves what is humane and factual. Many developed nations boycotted...that is sufficient for me.
2. SO CALLED SWISS...neutrality ....BS!!!
Lior ,   Israel   (04.21.09)
They should be ashamed because there are times it is impossible and downright immoral to be neutral. Neutral is for cowards who fear to stand up for what is wrong. Swiss neutrality is RACISM at it's best! I urge everyone to boycott all things Swiss. I wouldn't give them the time of day.
3. SWISS PLAY THE ROLE OF THE PROSTITUTE
Jorge ,   tegucigalpa   (04.21.09)
They go to bed with their customers for money, but are not involved.
4. Fake neutrality
Frank ,   Canada   (04.21.09)
Giving legitimacy to crime, murder, anti-Semitism, ... has nothing to do with neutrality. The Swiss president had no obligation to receive Ahmadinejad. Moreover, based on the anti-Israeli stance of their current government, the Swiss are not anymore neutral.
5. Dante on neutrality.
Steve   (04.21.09)
"The hottest places in Hell are reserved for those who in time of great moral crises maintain their neutrality." Dante Alighieri
6. Switzerland is the most immoral country in the West
redbourn ,   tel aviv   (04.21.09)
Switzerland accepts money from criminal and blacklisted countries from all over the world; and worse it hides their names. It hides its cowardice under the guise of neutrality and its contributions to the world are negligible. Clocks, chocolate and the Red Cross. The Red Cross is as corrupt as Switzerland however, and it not only transports terrorists and weapons, but fails to report on prisoners like Shalit and many others. It is soon to be Islamizised, but what can one say ... "it couldn't happen to a more deserving country" ? Mike
7. Swiss neutrality!!!!!
Spencer ,   Israel   (04.21.09)
The Swiss President has crossed the red line. Neutrality is not an excuse for hosting a "man" (who in my eyes is a piece of garbage) who leads the world in sponsering terrorism; who promotes racism ; who denies the Holocaust. All I can say is "Shame on you Pres. Merz.
8. It is so easy
Anna ,   Norway   (04.21.09)
to not care..this is what swiss and Norway do.. neutral=idonotcare
9. again Switzerland
ghostq   (04.21.09)
is no nutral she refuse jewish refugees to enter her teritory in WW2. and the bank accounts of the jews that were murderd she confiscate.
10. Switzerland sucks
Yehudi ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (04.21.09)
There is no such thing as neutrality. Switzerland is a morally bankrupt country.
11. switzerland is as good
ghostq   (04.21.09)
as her cheez they both stinks.
12. Swiss neutrality was and is a MYTH at best.
Nick Sporek ,   Jerusalem Israel   (04.21.09)
Our chocolate and dairy products are better too :P
13. No neutrality.
di   (04.21.09)
By taking the decision to accept this mega-terrorist Iranian trod on Swiss soil, the Swiss president broke his country's neutrality oath. This way, the Swiss president actually gave a hard slap on the face of free countries, let alone Israel. He demonstrated that the word neutrality has more Swiss connotations than one. It is a word customized for Swiss needs while telling the free world to go to hell. So be it, but every bad act has its retribution in world history and on the world map. And this time, the Swiss president not only did he shoot his own foot but brought shame on so many sincere and hard working Swiss people.
14. Ahmedinejad
Joe W ,   Israel   (04.21.09)
How does Ahmedinejad (read as "I'm mad in the head") repay the Swiss for their hospitality - he gets up and spews forth a pile of drivel and makes his hosts look like idiots. The Swiss are such dupes! When will they ever learn? Or, perhaps they don't want to and like feting jew hating scumbags so they can get their cheap gas.
15. Switzerland isn't neutral
Sarah ,   New York City, USA   (04.21.09)
I can cite an embarrassingly number of incidents during World War II which would disprove Swiss so-called "neutrality." If the Swiss wish to be the world's laughingstock, then so be it. You make your bed, you lie in it. Guten nacht, Schweiz.
16. Switzerlands hypocrasy
DT ,   TA Israel   (04.21.09)
Switzerland being neutral was and is a myth. Read history and see how they supported Germany in WW2 while pretending to be otherwise
17. NO MONEY NO SWISS
DAVID ,   JUDEA   (04.21.09)
Swiss neutrality is based only on financial gains. They go with whoever is at the upper hand at any given moment. To expect decency and a moral attitude from these people who lack some basic human feelings is a waste of time. In the name of neutrality they sell their souls to the devil and the hell with everything else. Anyone that thinks that they can change this mentality from the Swiss is mistaken, only taking away their money will hurt them.
18. #15-that's right Sarah.
Ypip ,   Canada   (04.21.09)
19. #15 Sarah, the wise woman
Lisa   (04.21.09)
this is my one answer to this otherwise most embarrassing discussion: accusations, emotional, and mostly hearsay....Ynet, nor Sarah- knows what the two politicians talked about. Everybody jumping to conclusions- overreacting, making insulting accusations. Maybe the US should start doing their own diplomatic negotiations instead of using (should I say abusing?) Switzerland. Clinton talks about 'talking' to Iran- do your own dirty work US- the US has not had diplomatic anything with Iran since the 1980's- who do you think they asked? Switzerland is good enough for this? How about Cuba? Libya? re neutrality: I just bet the US is neutral...they look out for their own good- as do most countries- including Israel. Switzerland is as critical of Iran as any other country in Europe- including the US- Again- we talk about THE SWISS- all 8 million of them anti-semites, money grabbing bankers, liars, thieves, yes Sarah- etc. most of which did not even live during WWII- .Switzerland sucks? - so do most of the TBs here-. No research, no real discussion, everybody just spouting emotional drivel and hearsay- repeating what they heard and read in other TBs- have a good day everybody- mayby we'll have another country on the chopping block tomorrow? this is a pathetic TB
20. Swiss represents the U.S in Iran and needs to make dialogues
Marco ,   Switzerland   (04.21.09)
The U.S gave Switzerland a mandate to represent U.S interest in Iran. But who cares in Israel? This is anyway an agreemeent between 2 Christian countries! Switzerland and the U.S are Christian brothers.
21. to #20 yeah but in a mandat
gsea   (04.21.09)
switzarland acted on her own, mandat means limited self rulling, the USA just want to say we tryed everything before the next war switzerland don't her stance is quit clear, we give stance to the one who will pay us the most. and the religioun of the states r irrelevent, since theological is not the issue,
22. how about the truth
darwish ,   nyc   (04.21.09)
the swiss are doing what the US wants. why don't you come out and blame us? you don't like our policies, you can stand alone. different winds are blowing in here.
23. Boycott Switzerland
bob ,   France   (04.21.09)
Don't buy Swiss products anymore: watches, chocolate, Netsle, etc.
24. Swiss "neutrality" is bull***!
shameful ,   usa   (04.21.09)
It's one thing to declare neutrality because of your geographical location when there are tensions between your geographic neighbors, but there is absolutely no rhyme or reason to apply neutrality in the case of Ahmadinejad. By inviting a Holocaust denier to speak at a forum on racism, the Swiss President has demonstrated that he lacks a clear sense of morality or, even worse, tacitly condones the Iranian monkey's revisionist ideology.
25. #22 - how did the US get involved in this?
redbourn ,   tel aviv   (04.21.09)
Not sure what your post is about. The Swiss are doing what the US wants etc? Mike
26. #25 hey Mike
Lisa   (04.21.09)
do you ever read a decent paper? International news? The US has not had diplomatic ties with Iran since about 1980- your sainted patron country , the US , needs the Swiss jerks to negotiate- you didn't know this? Shame on you- next time you open your little mouth- think first, will you? Clinto probablu TOLD the swiss president to meet with the Iranian nutcase- to speed up the release of the US reporter- wanna bet?
