I am proud to be a kiwi (at least for the time being). Israel has a friend in the new NZ government. led by Prime Minister John Key. Although he himself is not Jewish , his Mother was a Swiss Jew that escaped to England and then onto NZ. It is also a stated fact that his government is intending to re-align with our traditional allies ie USA, Australia and away from adopting European ideas and approaches to foreign affairs. Interestingly, former prime minister Helen Clark, has a high ranking appointment in the UN and I'm picking she has the top job in her sights and that would not be a good thing for Israel but in saying that neither is Mr Ban Ki Moon.

When Ahmadinejad spoke, all the EU countries representatives walked out, except for the ones who boycotted the conference (Germany, Poland, Italy and the Netherlands) and weren't there to start with.
