1. Solve domestic problems first
Susan ,   Kfa Saba   (04.22.09)
In my opinion, this whole so called peace process is a big wast of time and it gets us no where. I would much prefer our leaders to focus on our domestic issues like the economy, organized crime, education and other social problems. It seems that they waste so much time trying to acheive this illusive "peace" that other no less important issues aren't addressed.
2. Why?
Shlomo ,   Israel   (04.22.09)
Why do we/should we build up the palestinian economy. Every time, every time we provide assistance it is thrown in our faces. I think most people have already forgotten the article published a few weeks ago in which stated the the PA has never acknowledged the existence of Israel. The PA charter is the same as hamas' and all other palestinian terror organizations, they ALL call for the destruction of Israel and the removal of the Jewish people. We need to have the same will to destroy these organizations and help the palestinians establish a state in Jordan which is 70-80% palestinian. Jordan is ruled by a monarchy, the hashemites, whose origins are in saudi arabia not Jordan. If the palestinians want a state we should help them to move to Jordan. You don't help or appease your enemy, you destroy it. Israel isfor Jews and it is only a mitvah for Jews to live in Israel, not goyim. Goyim have their lands and we have ours. If people want to live in Israel as responsible human beings, fine. If not, they must go, one way or another.
3. it's the old American approach of...
oferdesade ,   israel   (04.22.09)
if you gotta problem, throw money at it. if that doesn't work, throw more money at it. i must admit, though, it's better than the old israeli-slash-arab approach of: if you gotta problem, throw a soldier-slash-suicide-bomber at it. israelis, who always demand getting their money's worth, will work harder to make it happen; arabs might just stop winging for long enough to get a hair-breath's glimpse outside their own butt-holes at the world around them for a moment.
4. One big part of the story is missing.
Dan ,   Australia   (04.24.09)
Yes in the 70's & 80's the Palestinian economy did improve greatly but this then led the Pals to end their support of the PLO and campaigned for equal right/citizenship (the first intifarda was mostly non-violent (stone throwing only, no guns, no bombs and locally run. The PLO which was in Tunis opposed the first intifada but had lost control although officially voiced some support..). This shocked the PLO and Israel totally and they decided they would push for the two state solution because the PLO didn't want to lose its power as the voice of the Pals and Israel didn't want more Pals as citizens. So, is this what we want to go back to?
5. yes
Citizen   (04.26.09)
In a nutshell - that is exactly what we want to return to. A time that almost all Pals wanted to be citizens rather that terrorist. The question is citizens of which entity? - Israel, PA or Jordan ?
