1. to the mother of allah
(04.24.09)
congratulations on your son's marriage and starting a new, better life. violence doesn't pay and cannot solve a darn thing when one is using violence. i know your pain from personal experience. i know what the loss of two children means to you. however, i must remind you that it was NOT GOD'S plan that killed your sons. it was their choice and free decision to be involved in terrorism and killing and this decision has nothing to do with any decent god. both your sons were killed because of their actions, of which your third son was smart enough to realize that his eventual death as a terrorist will follow your other two sons. yes, i do feel sorry for any deaths. however, your son, allah, was personally respo0nsible for the murder of my child who was 7 years old many years ago. i too havce suffered because my son was not ba terrorist. he was an innocent jew who was targeted by terrorists like your three sons. your sons were murderers pure and simple. for you to wake up with nightmares and judge the idf for searching your home is hypocritical. if it wasn't for these searches, who knows how many more jewish israeli innocent children would have been murdered by your sons like my child was murdered by a grenade thrown by the organization your sons send to do this vile job of terror. my son ari, god bless him, doesn't have the chance at life that your son now has. as a mother, i would be thnakful to god that this son has chosen the right path of community and peace building and not continuous murders. ariella jerusalem, israel

I don't get it. Could someone explain "wanted man"? Is this a choice one makes? To become a wanted man? I'm so lost
4. To Allah
(04.24.09)
May you find peace with yourself and your wife. If you have children, raise them with love and no hatred. Not towards yourself, not towards your Arab brethern and definitely not towards Jews. I don't know you but I can only hope that you will go forward on the path of peace rather than the path of war. Say hi to your mother. She sounds like a fine lady.
5. No, this wasn't nether Go's choice, neither their free will
Lednah ,   Europe   (04.24.09)
The palestinians are victims too. They are used as cannon fodders from forces which pursue their own agenda but pretend they have nothing to do with this. The last thing those forces care is about the palestinians. Decades ago the stir was started by the ex-Soviet Union and their best acomplishment was starting the civil war in Lebanon (according to the declasified KGB archives). Now it is Iran who dreams through such actions it will unify all the arab world in some uber-Iran.
6. Ariella, my deepest sympathy
Mike Schwartz ,   New York   (04.24.09)
Ariella, I cannot comprehend your loss and you have my deepest sympathy. Your letter was the best possible answer. It has been said my whole lifetime and before I was born. It was said by Gold Meir when she said (paraphrasing) There can be peace when Arab mothers love their children more than they like killing Jews. It was said by whoever said if the Arabs put down their weapons there could be peace tommorrow; if the Jews put down their weapons there would only be dead Jews. The fact of the matter is the "Palestinians" want all the land and no Jews. Land for peace is a joke. The "Palistinians" have to reject their fanatic rabid leaders and militant Islam. The world doesn't understand what Israel has to endure. Again, my deepest sympathies. Sincerely, Mike

15. Sorry, I thought I wrote it in english...
Lednah ,   Europe   (04.24.09)
But it looks like some people read what they want to read not what is written... But it happens when people write not because they have something to say but just to shout "Me! Me! Me!" Waht I wrote exactly is: "Now it is Iran who dreams through such actions it will unify all the arab world in some uber-Iran." Which woeds you didn't exactly understand? And where exactly you read "Iran is an arab country"?

this is what makes us different and more civilized than them. the key here is not to forgive, but not to let anger and anguish ruin your life and your hopes for the future. they do not think like we do because for them two or one hundred sons mean nothing. when moms in any culture revere the death of their sons as shaheeds, what more can i say? ariella

thank you for your thoughts. however, no, i disagree. it is not the big guys fault on both sides. it is the fault of the palestinian education system, the media, the indoctrination to hate, maim and murder, the constant revisionistic switching of historical facts which the palestinians know fully well they are fabricating since the plo's emergence in 1964 BEFORE ANY OCCUPATION EXISTED, WHILE TERROR AND MURDER ALWAYS EXISTED AGAINST JEWS IN ISRAEL BY LOCAL ARABS. i am sorry. however the jews living in israel do not share your mentality for revenge of the multiple massacres and dihimi status they "enjoyed" under all arab islamic rule. they had a vision of building, suceeding and creating a country and civilization. you could have done the very same thing with your people and your society. but, you have chosen a different path which has created enormous bloodshed between jews and arabs in the area. had you chosen the path of building and of peace, you could have had a beautiful palestine, a prosperous palestine and a civil non violent palestinian society full of doctors, professors, lawyers, engineers, teachers and yes, civil institutions, libraries, modern government centers and mostly, a life of joy for your citizens. but you chose differently without thinking that you are ONLY HURTING YOURSELVES. i would like for once that palestinian look in the mirror andc start counting the millions of opportunities they missed along the way to really create a state and a civil society. your problem is that you choose leaders who have none of your interest at heart, none of the good things that they never deliver to you and none of the ambitions the israeli leaders have had in building their prosperous advanced nation, israel. once you take a long hard look in that mirror, i hope you find it in your heart to self criticise rather than blame a nation that probably protected palestinians more than the entire arab world combined. ariella
19. to #1 Freedom Fighters
Lura ,   USA   (04.25.09)
Just want you to know that The british used to call us here terrorists, but we were freedom fighters till we got our freedom. same with the palestinians, they are freedom fighters not terrorists as your media try to brainwash you. Sorry for the death of your son, your government iand army responsible of that. you think killing over 1500 in Gaza mostly babies and mothers 2 months ago make you peacful people and expect peace from the freedom fighters, give me a break and get real.

21. #1 Occupation
Atmawi ,   Historic Palestine   (04.25.09)
I do not know but sounds to me that you all live in a different planet. Prutal Military Occupation is the answer to why all suffering in both sides, Do not you see it?!!!!!!! Is it fair an ok for you "civilized people" to kick 6 million Palestininas out of their homes and simply stay in it?!!! Did any one of you practice the daily humilation Palestinian people live at CheckPoints all over the roads?!!!!! Guys, Lets not hide our heads in sand, we have a real problem, we fight over land, and both sides approved they care much less to sacrify their love ones for the purpose, am I right?!!!! Palestinians call their killed Ones "Shahid" and Israelies have no problem to sacrify them for the cause. THIS IS A FACT, FACE IT. No silly responses Please.
22. @19

So why are they not fighting against Jordan which occupies 80% of the Palestinian mandate? And why were they not fighting for their freedom when before 1967 they were ruled by Egypt and Jordan?
23. #21,"Historic" Palestinian
Jacob ,   Munich,Germany   (04.25.09)
1. there were never 6 Million pals leaving their homes 2.Most of them were told by the "victorious" armies of Iraq;Jordan,Syria & Egypt to free the land in order not to be harmed thru their attacks on Israel. Pals are now the people held in camps for mor than 60 years 3."humilitation" is what you call it. Just think why upt to now their are strict controls at all airports around the world!! Because "your" people started to attack civilians planes in order to kill as many civilians as possible. The Check Point fulfill the same logic. As long as "your" people try to smuggle arms, ammo & bombs with ambulances, women & kids, what do you expect? This is the fact, you twist cause & effect, face it and think of it
24. @17 you confuse me

stargazer ,   Israel   (04.25.09)
The U.N. voted and the State of Israel was formed. The Arab armies rose up against the new state and LOST the war... and every war since then. In '48, not all the Palestinians that FLED Israel were chased out, many were told to leave while the new states was supposedly destroyed. True SOME were forced to vacate areas. Well, things just didn't work out the way the Arabs planned it. If the Arabs had accepted the state we would not be having this debate, and would be living in THE most properous and powerful region of the world. No wonder the Europeans also didn't really want the State of Israel to survive. The Jewish people have historic claim to this land, have won all the wars. It's about time that the Arabs and more specifically the Palestinians deal with this fact. Israel isn't going anywhere. As for the 'dialy humilation' that the Palestinians suffer, I know this is a fact. BUT.....if the Palestinians were to accept the state of Israel, and turn to making peace, none of these security measures would be necessary. How you can compare that both sides willingly sacrifice their loved ones for the fight is just amazing. As Golda Meir said many years ago: 'We will have peace when the Arabs love their children more than they hate the Jews'. and... 'We can forgive you for killing our sons, but will never forgive you for forcing us to kill yours'. In no way am I comfortable or happy that Israeli soldiers are put in a position to cause such grief to any people. But this is a matter of self defence. I do remember and have witnessed Arab people rejoicing at Israeli deaths. It's about time that the Arabs and the Palestinians in particular stop playing the victim and take responsibility for their thoughts and actions. If they really want peace, they actually have no choice. I love you, I forgive you, I'm sorry, please forgive me. All humanity is actually all ONE...

#21 Atnawi can't count Isn't it silly to lie in front of the whole world that "6,000,000 palestinians" lost their homes ? To be replaced by Israelis in 1948, when the number of palestinians alive IN 1948 was less than 500,000 ? ! ! Even then SOME (most ?? ) of the pal refugees left WILLING: to let their brothers, Syria, Lebanon, Iraq, Egypt, Trans Jordan to ethnically clean the area of Jews. moshe
27. #21 historic palestine included jordan as well
israeli   (04.25.09)
not only when the british decided on the borders of palestine in the 20th century ( moslems didn't know where palestine was centuries before the british mandate ), but i am talking about historic palestine. just like you asked. well, historic palestine was the new name for judea the jewish kingdom by the end of 2nd century, and because judea included parts of jordan, so did historic palestine. the palestine of 20th century in the begining also included jordan. in 1917 palestine was to become a homeland for the jews, but arabs didn't like it, so to satisfy the arab palestinians jordan was born out of 77% of palestine in 1922. jordan gained independence a year before israel. still, palestinians are not satisfied, and want west bank too. the history of the land and the people didn't start with historic palestine, there were cities towns into which arabs wandered and settled or captured through battles. those cities were built by those that were expelled or killed, the jews, for the large part before the arab invasion. jews that remained after the arab invasion clung to the ground, and lived amongst arabs as a minority in cities arabs now claim as their own. for example, there is an ancient big synagogue in gaza from the 5th century, (before the arab invasion in 7th century, unless hamas destroyed it). moslems liked to torture jewish minority from time to time, probably to stifle the jewish claim on the land, and this is why moslems think jews are paying back with the same reasons for the same causes. jews that joined that old jewish community in 19th & 20th centuries didn't mind having arabs amongst them, so long as arabs are not fighting the jews. infact i'm 40 and remember times there were no road blocks even in gaza, where my jewish uncle lived. i was traveling to gaza by myself as a child and not once been checked through a roadblock. roadblocks started in the 80s because of intifada, when you started carrying amunition to kill jewish civilians. unfortunately you are trying to kill jewish civilians all too often. jews dont like serving in the army, see roadblocks and walls, they are doing it to protect their lives. when jews are saying to palestinians go to jordan, it is because jews have given up Jordan, even religious jews who cite religious scriptures about the promised land, that was given to the tribes of menashe reuven and gad. Those 3 tribes inhabited an area that belongs to jordan today, and were a part of the land god gave to Israel. yarmuck, yabock and arnon rivers formed their borders (these rivers are in Jordan).

30. #21 - One cannot point to future to justify the past
William ,   Israel   (04.26.09)
I heard several Arabs justify the massacre of Jews in Hebron and Jerusalem in 1920 because Israel was built in 1948. I guess pre-emptive attacks on rumors is qualified in the Arab world as legitimate. If you are from "Palestine" (and I use the term loosely) then you remember the interaction of Pals and Israelis in the late 1990s - the free travels of both, business relationships, joint projects on water, agriculture, and proposed industrials parks with Jordan. ALL this was destroyed in a blink of an eye when YOUR leader, the one who created the fallicy of a "people" decided to launch terror to gain concessions. You lost the fastest growing economy to abject poverty and the siphoning of millions by your criminal leaders. Still, you fail to recognize it as reality is harsh and learning from your faults is not a Pal strong characteristic. Nor is standing up for truth, nor is avoiding civilians, nor is even treating your own minorities (Christians, Samaritans, even women) fairly. Think back - when road blocks came down, attacks went up - quickly. Rather than protesting this, YOUR "people" handed out candies. THIS IS A FACT, FACT IT.
